  1. Yes, but it was a hybrid system. I want 3-4 players specifically for a 3-4 system, namely the DL. I'm not all that worried about the DEs moving to OLBs and our OLBs moving to the inside. That's just conceptual stuff and getting a ton of reps. What we have currently for a DL in a 3-4 scheme is vastly lacking.
  2. The back 7 yes, but it made our thin DL that much thinner...like a complete overhaul with exception to Brown.
  3. We will need an experienced NT in FA and draft one as well. McCall has the size, but dude was an undrafted FA. I wouldn't put too much stock into him. Again, Anderson has played in both schemes, so it would make sense to re-sign him at least for a season while these guys adapt to the 3-4. I don't doubt Brown can move to the outside, but it will take some time to get used to.
  4. Roy and YGM seem like misfits in this system. Roy got bullied as a 3-tech, won't hold up as a NT. YGM is undersized for a 3-4 end and not fast enough to be a OLB. I'd re-sign Anderson to be an end. Luckily, our undersized DEs in a 4-3 are now perfect OLBs in a 3-4. I wouldn't mind hanging on to Haynes now. He was strictly a one down player in a 4-3. We really have to beef up our DL now. There was a need for some upgrade/depth in the 4-3 scheme, more so now even with one less linemen; we still need players here for the schematic fit. I was purely wanting to focus on offense this off season with a tweak to the defense. I like the Evero hire, but it made our needs on defense increase. Given our cap and limited draft picks, this is going to be a tough task.
  5. Would probably have to be a promotion if someone was to take the job as OC if it is in title only. A QB coach or passing game coordinator. Not likely that a current OC would sign up for the gig, especially given that's a lateral move on paper, though actually a demotion in reality if Reich ends up calling plays.
  6. After a solid Senior Bowl, he's crept into the top 10 QBs on my favorite draft site.
  7. Since we are moving to a 3-4, we probably need to look at drafting a NT. Roy is big enough to do it, but did he play NT in college? McCall, could he play there?
  8. Reich seems not to be interested being the loudest voice in the room. The smartest people in business say 'if you think you intelligent enough to do it all by yourself or surround yourself with yes men, you are doomed to failure.' The most successful people surround themselves with the best and brightest, period. Frank is assembling a freaking All-Star staff.
  9. I'm interested in the QB coach and OC still to be named. If we score there...eww wee maen!!!!
  10. Funny how Carolina seems like a decent place to work after Rhule left. huh?
  11. Bump. Still my favorite scenario this draft. We should not trade up for a QB this year, Levis and Richardson have serious issues (Richardson extremely raw, Levis just not that good). Trade back a few spots, draft Mayer, pick up a couple of picks and retool the offense while adding 2-3 pieces on the defense. Next year's draft at QB is so much better and the pieces we draft this year on offense will already have a season under their belt. If we sit that guy for a year, then the players we take this draft will have TWO years under their belt. Point being, we have to eventually draft a QB, but set the guy up for success.
  12. No to both. Both have horrible mechanics, bad touch on short-to-intermediate passes and missed reads too often. Some team is going to fall in love at their pro day flicking in 70 yards in underwear versus a college staffer doing a mock rush.
  13. We don't have any weapons. This dude still thinks our OL sucks.
  14. I've mocked Rice a ton in simulations. The more simulations I run, the more I convince myself if we double dip at a position this year, it's WR. We need a slot (Shi Smith ain't it) and another boundary WR (TMJ ain't it). No matter who is behind center next fall, he needs weapons and we are in are in short supply.
  15. That man owes Joe Burrow his firs born child. Dude has been a complete shell since that LSU championship run.
  16. Flowers with #40 and A.T. Perry or Xavier Hutchinson # 94. Has to happen. Get our slot and boundary WRs in the same draft. Sorry, Shi Smith and TMJ aren't cutting it.
  17. We have to double dip at WR. Would I like to double dip at LB, DL of DBs? Heck yeah, but with a offensive HC...FINALLY, we've got to go get weapons.
  18. I know there was a narrative on this board about retread HCs versus the young bucks...everyone wanted a young buck. I just kept looking at the job Pederson was doing with that train wreck down in Jacksonville and thinking could one of these young bucks pulled that 180 that Doug Pederson was doing down there? Reich and Pederson are cut from the same cloth and why after he was (stupidly) let go by Irsay in Indy, I wanted Reich here in Carolina.
  19. He's chill'n because he has not been officially terminated yet to my knowledge. McAdoo will get his walking papers when his replacement is found.
  20. No, Wilks was an interim HC. It has to be HC or GM to get the comp pick. Coordinators and staffers don't count.
  21. Let me dream for a minute, please. Someone need to tell Luke, while not shabby in the radio booth, that's not his calling. Olsen, on the other hand, is a natural.
  22. I mean, is he wrong? Sometimes stupid need to be called out. Granted Butker still could have made a reeeeallly long attempt, but that 15 extra yards sure helped. Would have been, what 56 yards in single digit temperatures?
  23. That sucks for him; complete tear of his UCL. Delhomme was never the same after his Tommy John surgery.
