Prime WILL NOT Let Shedeur Or Hunter Go To A Sh*tshow Organization
45catfan replied to 45catfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Some teams have bad years, some organizations have a bad existences. The later example are the ones I think Prime was referring to, the Browns and Jets of the League. Seven years down a spiraling toilet flush, we are trying our best to joint the misery. Put this way, in 2026 if we are picking #1...again, does the Manning family block Arch from coming to Carolina? If anyone says yes, then you know Prime has to feel the same way about his guys coming here. -
Listening to sports talk on the way to work this morning and they played a clip from another radio show Prime was on saying YES, he will absolutely block his son and basically his 'adopted' son from getting drafted by clown show organizations. So for anyone wanting to tank for Shedeur or Travis Hunter, get that thought completely out of your head. The last time I checked, the Panthers fall into that category. Prime did say he would keep it low key and out of the media, but you know good and well any team he tries to block, that team is running straight to the first reporter they can find to spill the goods on Prime.

Awesome concert last night....as usual. Dudes never disappoint.

I like it!!!!

I listen to Fox Sports radio on the way to work in the morning. Lavar Arrington Jr. committed to Penn State recently to follow in his dad's footsteps. Senior was a proud papa announcing that on air. Junior is supposedly a stud LB in his own right. Is Moose's son still at A&M or did he graduate?

My favorite band and I are the same age. They are going on their 50th anniversary tour next year. They play in Charlotte tomorrow, coincidentally (I'll be there). Yes, many of us on here are getting old.

Ummm, the defense was a M*A*S*H ward for several games while Andy was starting. They finally have gotten healthy and it shows. Let's see Bryce overcome 30+ points for a win. My point is, if this new Bryce Young is legit, he should be able to compete with the Chiefs. Odds are he can't.
-
The much improved defense is the biggest key in the past two wins, more so than a "resurgent" Bryce Young. Remember when we were giving up 30+ points per game until recently? Yeah, Young can't produce the amount of firepower to overcome that kind of deficit.

The Chiefs will be the ultimate test. If Bryce can beat the Chiefs, then he should get the nod going forward. What I don't wan to happen is they put Dalton back in to be the whipping boy so Bryce doesn't have his new found confidence shattered. It's not fair to Dalton that Bryce gets to play the doormats and when we face the SB champions, Andy gets to be the sacrificial lamb. We need to see Bryce versus a legit team, moreover, a legit defense.

There's always risk, but the bigger the pool, the better the chance. This pool is small this April for franchise QBs and there's no need to force it like we did two years ago with Bryce. Teams with legit QB aspirations are going to go tank mode soon, so don't assume we even get a chance at Ward. QB needy teams in the draft always find their way towards the top of the board. Also, I think you are selling the 2024 QB class short. There may be as many as four of these guys that pan out. Odd you omitted Stroud as well.
-
We need a young stable of pass rushers, not 1-year rentals on mercenary contracts.
-
You know the drill, first round QBs only get heavier in numbers the closer to the draft it gets, not lighter. Unless Ewers falls off a cliff or keeps getting injured, he'll end up being projected as a first rounder as time goes on. I'm not convinced Milroe comes out. Even if he does, he's got a LOT to polish about his game. Great deep ball arm, athletic, but hasn't quite pieced it all together yet. He may come out, but it would be a year early, IMO.
-
Have you looked at this class? You have Ward, who is the only one I would trust. Then you have two wildcards in Ewers and Sanders. Beyond that you have to hope there's an Allen, Mahomes or Jackson outside of the top 5-10 picks that are diamonds in the rough. It's not there, it simply isn't. There's some guys who may develop into a solid backup or possibly decent starter given plenty of time, but a sure fire franchise guy--Ward is the only likely prospect in this draft. Even then he's not a generational talent and will need a solid support system to be successful.
-
Yay, this is what i want...outside of Bryce somehow turning into Aaron Rogers (which he won't). To win some more games and stay away form this extremely mediocre QB class. Coincidentally, Bryce playing a little better will likely force the staff to give him one more year to prove himself. Then we can focus on building the rest of the roster and when Bryce flames out next year, we can turn our focus to the much better QB quality and depth in the 2026 draft.

Bryce should buy Eddie Pineiro a new car. Dude has literally contributed more in the wins with Bryce stating than Bryce himself. Eddie is perfect on FGs and PATs, including 3 walkoff FGs in Bryce's four wins.
-
Celebrate now guys because the we won't face any more two win teams the rest of the season.
-
When he delivers a decisive victory, I might change my mind on Bryce. These last second victories versus the bottom of the League teams isn't very awe inspiring to me. Yes, it's great to actually get some Ws, but it's also puzzling to see it changing the minds of some people. Hopefully Canales see this for what it is, extremely average game management and not QB play that's going to elevate this squad to new levels of success as he continues to build for the future.
-
His future is the next Jake from State Farm guy. I imagine he's going to stay in the League for 3-4 more years and that's it. Beyond his rookie contract he'll catch on some place else as a backup for a few years and then hang them up realizing he's never going to start again.
-
And that is exactly what you will get. If you have a "franchise" QB and his sole job is to not f*ck up the game, that's not the guy you want long term. That's exactly what Bryce has done the past two weeks...is not lose the games. You can only be successful going that route.

Yes, in 2026. Either Bryce or FA next year.

BREAKING:Panthers re-sign Chuba Hubbard
45catfan replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
At bit more than I feel we should have paid him. As has been stated, the second contract for RBs is their payday. So I get why it's not cheap. All I'm going to say is this role as a complimentary back could have been gotten much cheaper if Chubba hit the market and let another team give him his big payday. -
How many dudes have uttered those words?

*To the tune of Queens 'Another One Bites the Dust'* Dum, dum, dum, Another 2nd wideout busts... Dum, dum, dum, Another 2nd wideout busts... And another one's gone and another one's gone, Another 2nd wideout busts... Hey, he's a failure too, Another 2nd wideout busts!
