  1. At this point I have zero clue what Fitts is doing. He'll offload offensive assets to move up for a rookie QB who needs those assets, but won't offload a dude who will break the bank for years to come that's not a generational talent on defense. Makes complete sense. Something has to give. Tepper needs to stop meddling, but clearly he doesn't trust Fitts at this point. I seriously doubt the micromanaging stops with a new GM, however. Some of these head scratching moves are 100% directives of Tepper himself, no proof, just a gut feeling. Fitts is going to be on the chopping block for being an unconditional 'yes man.' A person can't tell their boss 'no' too many times, but rationally giving rebuttals is common in a healthy organization. I mean, he's going to get fired anyway, so at least go out with some dignity,
  2. We've been thin at corner since game 3. This is not about moral victories. Bad baseball teams routine trim the fat at the trade deadline once they realize there's no hope for the post season for future picks and prospects. Chark is a JAG and his "production" can be easily be replaced.
  3. Ooops, yup....1.42 yards per carry for Chuba without his long of 8 yards and 1.65 as a RB group without Bryce. Wrote it down wrong.
  4. Burns for a 1st+. TMJ or Chark for some day 3 picks. Donte Jackson possibly a day 2 pick or a combination of early day 3 picks.
  5. Frank says he knows Scott has been on the phone leading up to tomorrow's trade deadline, but as of his presser today, he had not got any details and that they would meet later today. https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2023/10/30/panthers-frank-reich-scott-fitterer-2023-nfl-trade-deadline/
  6. Ooof. I agree Chuba is better than in the past, but being the best one of this RB group isn't a major accomplishment. Take out his long of 8 yards and his average for yesterday would have been 0.7 yards. Totaling 44 rush yards on the day, 33 by our trio of RBs is AWFUL...averaging under a yard per carry yesterday.
  7. The Bills just signed Fournette to their practice squad. He's been out of football since the end of last season, being released in the offseason per his request (didn't want to play for the Bucs after Brady retired). Since Fitts loves to poach guys off of other teams PSs, lets give him about 2-3 weeks to get back into football shape and then sign him. We need a big, between the tackles RB.
  8. "Head coach Frank Reich said that flurry of intentional penalties and jumping offsides is a strategy he has seen deployed before to try to "rattle" a kicker, and he complimented Piñeiro's steadiness in the face of chaos." https://www.panthers.com/news/eddy-pineiro-s-game-winning-field-goal-the-exclamation-point-to-first-win Yes, it was intentional. No 'mistiming,' rather an intention ploy to shake the kicker. I think if the defense jumps offsides on a FG as a result of having no timeouts left to ice the kicker, the player is ejected and they have to play with 10 men for the down.
  9. Draft one in the second round, of course. We are money taking a WR in the 2nd!
  10. Unless Fitts is playing a serious game of poker--Burns is off the table for a trade. Who knows, trying to up his value up by playing hard to get? I say there's a 99.9% chance Burns is still on this roster after tomorrow. If anything occurs for us, it will be some middling trade like TMJ for a 6th rounder, for example.
  11. Even though the near TE (88 Goedert) ends up in a route instead of blocking, their LT is insulated. The pressure ends up coming from the opposite side and Sanders picks it up, but again, that LT has all the help in the world.
  12. Okay, this isn't a band aide situation, Ickey doesn't have to his help ripped off in one pull. The staff apparently thought he was ready to be on an island this year, but with the injuries on the OL, shoddy running game, a rookie QB and ineffective WRs (AT withstanding) it is obvious he still needs some help. Our scheme is pass happy with a lot of one back and empty sets. Our RBs aren't the best blockers even the few times they are tasked to do so. Was that Hubbard that got smashed yesterday? The Texans defender almost got a two-fer. Hubbard nearly got pancaked into Bryce. Anyway, Ickey will be fine. His struggle will subside as the offensive woes as a whole subside. The struggles are interconnected as stated above.
  13. They are leaving him on an island this year unlike last when he had blocking TEs and RBs to give him a hand. Not to mention he had BC next to him all season. Is he good enough at this point in his career to man that left side all by himself consistently? The answer is no, not yet. Firstly, he needs a LG to be a cornerstone the rest of the season and secondly, on obvious passing downs, it wouldn't hurt for someone to chip or stay back to help block especially on longer distances where routes take more time to develop.
  14. We will trudge forward with this current roster, unfortunately. I mean, we can continue to sign guys off other team's practice squads because obviously that moves the needle--shuffling around guys 51, 52 and 53.
  15. You are a barrel of laughs. That meme is so funny!!!! Oh, my stomach hurts from laughing. Are you a comedian????
  16. Are we switching any other of the other players around that are struggling? No? Chill dude, the OL has been in flux all year and LG has been a turnstile from the rip. We just got Corbett back and if we are lucky we can get a LG to stay healthy enough to finish the rest of the season. The continuity of an OL cannot be understated. Oh yeah, an actual running game with an additional blocker(s) would help too. Empty sets are are harder to block, not to mention Bryce holds onto the ball because our WRs--other than Thielen--can't get open.
  17. The Falcons have a QB issue. Heck if Baker turns it around, the Bucs actually might take 2nd. Those two will be fighting it out for 2nd.
  18. Even if we win out this 3 game stretch, at MOST, we got possibly 2 more. I seriously doubt the Saints are going 2-7 over the next 9 games. Even then we would have to win a tie breaker, so one of OUR losses could not be to the Saints. That said we can lose up to 2, no more than 3 games the rest of the season including beating the Saints in the other game. The wheels have to completely fall off for the Saints.
  19. Again, a proper slide would have gotten the flag. He tends to slow down and awkwardly sorta lays down. The way Bryce 'slides' takes longer to go from upright to the turf. A proper slide by Bryce would have had him already down or closer to it, thereby likely drawing a flag. Not only that, but if he keep it up, someone is going to put a lights out hit on him.
  20. Careful before you get called a "miserable bastard" for stating the obvious.
  21. ^^^This is how you slide. Extend one leg while tucking the second. The tucked leg you land on your hip using that same side arm to brace for the fall.
  22. Every game should be meaningful despite what your divisional foes are doing. And no, we are not catching the Saints, but that doesn't make our games any less meaningful.
  23. Miserable? Not in the slightest. Realist? 100%.
