  1. I've been saying that since the Seattle game...at least the best QB on this team. Andy carried the team that game. The defense looked uncharacteristically bad, running game struggled and the OL--not only couldn't protect, but had an absurd amount of pre-snap penalties due to Seattle's crowd noise.
  2. Tepper is going to have a hard time selling this job to a HC candidate who is being mandated to "fix" Bryce. You absolutely KNOW that will be a question every candidate will ask--"am I married to Bryce Young?" No HC wants his future tied to this kid. Tepper may have to hedge his bets on Bryce or he's going to have to go faaaaaarrr down his list to find a HC.
  3. Williams, Maye, Daniels and Penix Jr. will be gone in round one. If someone has the balls, Nix and/or McCarthy should be sitting there at #33, but Tepper needs to be told 'step back' by someone, 'we are taking another QB.' If we ship off Burns, possibly the first rounder could be this year. If so, WR in round 1 and Nix/McCarthy at #33.
  4. Agreed. If so, we'd sign 3 more Adam Thielen clones.
  5. Of topic, but are you an Iron Maiden fan? Asking because of your handle. At any rate, great song!
  6. Is Bryce the only problem? Obviously not, but as the QB--you know, the most important position in all of team sports--It starts with him. No, not every pass attempt was a jailbreak by the defense. He couldn't do anything even with the snaps where he had some time.
  7. Running game produced over 200 yards, you would think that would have loosened up the back end some. So no, the entire offense didn't blow yesterday, just the passing game led by Bryce Young.
  8. If Byrce could hit more open throws, contested incompletions like these can be forgiven. Can't cherry pick only contested throws and say he needs help. Young can help himself by hitting what the defense is giving him. Odd he didn't show the wide open WR Byrce missed for the TD, huh? That would fug up his narrative. I get these media types that have access to the Panthers have to walk a fine line between true journalism and not pissing off the people who grant that access. While this may fool the casual fan, the die-hards know bullsh!t when they see it.
  9. I stayed far AWAY from this thread as possible. I didn't like the trade up from the rip and then didn't like who we took with the pick. I knew, in true Huddle form, If I had voiced my opinion about this whole thing it would be looong battle uphill. Therefore, I just dodged it entirely. Credit to Carl S. for speaking up and taking the time to take the heat. I try to avoid multi-page pissing match threads.
  10. Lol, I've been saying this for the past 6 or 7 games. But NOOOoooo, we have to see what we have in Bryce Young they said. It's too early to bench him they said. What we have is a non-NFL QB.
  11. If so, Fitterer is a bigger idiot than I have become to realize. He's a hybrid, I get it, it's hard to pigeon-hole him to one spot. However it has become clear that Jeremy is a better thumper than ballhawk. We offer him a contract based on a above average ILB and see how it goes. If he balks and wants corner money, then we trade him before he hits the market. I understand he's been playing nickle, but of the three positions he plays, corner is his least effective.
  12. Heck, everyone on this team wants to walk. Tepper's money will keep some FAs here.
  13. Whew boy did you open up a can of worms! Okay, eating an elephant strategy...here I go. #1-Trade Brian Burns for draft capital. A 1st round this year and a 2nd next year bare minimum #2-Extend Brown #3- Re-sign Luvu (priority #1 FA) #4- Other in-house FAs to re-sign REASONABLY (no particular order): Haynes, YGM, Hill, KGH, Williams *If JJ wants to come back then we obviously re-sign him--but I doubt he does. #5 Either move Chinn to LB or trade him before FA. #6 Free agency: WR (x2) a tier 1 and a tier 2, TE, OLB and CB #7 Use that first rounder to take either a QB or WR. #8 Draft (no particular order) OLB, DL, CB, OL and BPA (WR if not taken in round 1).
  14. The Jets brought in Aaron Rogers and told Zack Wilson to try not to get splinters in his arse. He was the #2 overall pick. Granted, they did try to give him a second year, but it was obvious very early on that season they were ready to move on. I say we do this a year earlier. Let's not waste 2024 to see if Young can look like a NFL starting QB. We still have Dalton for the season. If, BIG IF, a QB falls to #33 that is worthy of the pick...pull the trigger. In other words, no reaching. It will be a waste of a roster spot to keep 3 QBs, but oh well. A legit QB competition too. No, Young did NOT beat out Dalton in camp. Tepper wanted Bryce starting game #1 ready or not. Obviously he was not.
  15. Lots of white dots beyond 20 yards. They can't say shots aren't being taken anymore, Bryce just can't hit them.
  16. Let's do some diving in here: Yards: Of those QBs playing at least 11 games: So Young is in company with Jones, Pickett and Ridder. Completion%: Right there with Zack Wilson at around 60%. This considering he's checked down the whole season... ...to the whopping amount of 5.4 yards per attempt! This means yards per game are low too. Hmmm...the same names keep popping up. TDs: Damn, Mac Jones and Ridder again. Lastly, rating: There's Jones and Wilson. Point being, it's far enough into the season to see what Bryce is and what he is NOT. He's not a QB1, period.
  17. It's not actually. Footwork, arm strength, anticipation, throw 'tool bag', run threat--all are lacking. No amount of pooing on the WRs and OL will fix that.
  18. Yeah, but those other QBs that turned out good at least showed the TRAITS that one could see translating/developing further down the road. Bryce, not so much. Weak arm, short, small frame, H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E footwork--leading to limited throws and inaccuracy.
  19. The Bears will 100% NOT PASS UP CALEB WILLIAMS! Bank on it.
  20. So they are not drafting Caleb Williams? Whuuuuuut?????
  21. Game plan: Bryce throws to Bryce for 500 yards and 7 TDs! Yay!!!!
