So the disagreement here is I think Bryce can't be fixed as of now and you need it proven one more season. I can't bare to endure another year of misery, at least this season's level, so yes, I want to prop Bryce up. Also, you saw his passing charts correct? All he did was dink and dunk, which is epitome a PG QB. We had no vertical passing attack, but that's not what PG QB is known for and frankly, not what suits Bryce best at this level.

Especially when the OP of said thread attacks certain groups they obviously disagree with in their TL/DR epic rant. If Canales and his staff doesn't work out, it has nothing to do with their personal lives outside of football. It would mean they aren't good football coaches. So keeping it 100% about football it should remain.

Bryce isn't getting replaced this season, so do whatever we can to help him out. We can utilize a power running out of the gate without hardly any personnel changes. Heck, Wilks nearly parlayed a dominant run game into a full time HC gig here and he did it mid-season. Not only that, but our OL is suited to a downhill style too and no, we aren't replacing the entire OL this season either, so work to their strengths.

Lol, with the year. Yes, the NFL is made to be pass happy now, but a solid run game game can take you far. I mean let's make RBs go the way of FBs, scrap the trenches and make the entire League like the Pro Bowl game. That looks fun! If Tepper/Fittereer screwed the pooch with Bryce and can't turn into a legit #1 QB, he absolutely needs a running game to help him out. I need that too in order for the games to be tolerable to watch. A strong passing game and solid rushing attack are not mutually exclusive, even in 2024.

With his cap number? Nah, he'll be here. After the 2024 season, yeah, he's gone. $10M cap hit pre-June $7.5M post-June cap hit

You don't need a bellcow RB, but having one is awfully nice. Young could benefit from a dominant run game.
-
What are we going to use Sanders for? He's not a power back. He's better suited for quick passes out of the backfield as he works better in space. Again, we lack a power back.
-
Or Estime.

Yes, but I remember the days where we had a QB that was a threat to run and a QB sneak was a high percentage play. Mobility is nice a nice trait, but when that mobility can used against the defense and not just as it pertains to the pocket, that's even better.

This is why I have decided it's okay to move back. You have SEVEN guys graded within a point of one another. Move back a handful of spots, no more than 10, and recoup some draft capital.
-
I'm not sure, but players get 40 timed throughout their college career, it's not just a combine thing. That said, yes, it could be bogus if it's an unofficial number. I trust the combine numbers over pro days, or any other event, where players get measured & timed.
-
I got a couple of guys in mind for the draft, but Chuba was the best back in a bad RB stable. Being the tallest midget isn't exactly awe inspiring. Hubbard has improved, but again, he's not a bell cow RB. He's a solid #2. Sanders should just become the 3rd down back.
-
Good thing he had a impressive 40 time.
-
Scouting reports generally stated Young had a 'good enough' arm. Nowhere did I see an elite arm mentioned for him. He was praised for his attributes between his ears endlessly. Arm talent, not so much.
-
We have to get a new RB then. Chuba, while much improved, is NOT a bell cow back.
-
I really, really like this 'outside the box' mock.
-
Take? Sure, but are they the best value? Coleman possibly. At this rate I'd rather trade down some and get some bonus picks. Leggette should be there several picks later. One thing I did agree with Fitterer on is his philosophy on immediate impact players only being in that first 15-20 picks. So #33 or lets say #37 in a trade down, you are getting the caliber of guy.
-
If we are going to force a WR at #33, we very well could be looking at WR7 or WR8. Screw Fitterer and David Tepper. So disappointing to know where we could be this draft and the crumbs we actually have. I know, you 'make lemonade out of lemons' and hopefully Dan Morgan can. As a guy who usually enjoys the draft process, last draft and this one has absolutely sucked for me.
-
Don't get caught up in the NFL size, he's not been a consistent producer in his college career. That's the very reason I wasn't very high on Mingo. While Mingo had the better career than Legette, he still didn't put up the numbers that I would expect for a #1 guy in college in a pass happy offense.
-
Lol, get out of my head dude. Ok, ok, what am I thinking now?
-
How we deal with Burns will be nearly as impactful to the future of this this team as Young panning out or not. I'm dead serious. Tag and trade is my stance currently, but man would those two first rounders from the Rams have been nice about right now.
-
Yup, this is where I'm at for now. The best players left at #33 are QBs when I do my mock drafts nearly every time. I know we aren't taking one, as we should, so might as well take advantage of it. Move back and get some more draft capital. No further back than the early 40's, so not beyond 10 picks. In most years #33 isn't bad, but it's no man's land this year as far as I'm concerned. If we stay, I have a feeling we will reach.
-
Fitterer was a year early and I think deep down he knew it. Was this internal pressure to get the future QB or was it someone inside the building? I think it was a combination of both, but mainly from his boss. Could you imagine being in the position to take an early QB this year? I can, because I wanted to. Yes, I have beaten that horse into homemade glue because it has been VERY hard to let go.

In the NFL QBs have to be able to make all the throws. Bryce is limited where he can throw the ball. That limitation is due to arm strength. I looked at his passing chart just about every game and his outside the numbers attempts beyond 10 yards, certainly 15, were virtually nonexistent. The few he tried were HIGHLY unsuccessful. Bryce knows his floaters to the outside are prime for picking and why he stays away from them.
