  1. Bingo! It is possible to be a top-notch college QB and not pan out in the NFL. It happens a lot actually. The problem is that he's OUR QB, so the rose colored glasses are Superglued to their faces. If this was the Jets, for instance, a spade would already be called a spade. We are quick to call out other team's struggling QBs and ignore the deficiencies of our own guy. How many Steelers fans were holding out hope for Kenny Pickett? How many Jets fans were saying after Zach Wilson rookie season. 'another year he's going to blossom'? Crap, how many Falcons fans were excited that they passed on a QB only to give Ridder the benefit of a doubt this season??? Yes, rookie QBs struggle more times than not, however, you have to see the tangible things that with better coaching, a better supporting cast and with some things cleaned up in the QBs game, people can say 'this guy is going to be great!' I don't see that with Bryce. His ceiling given an ideal situation around him is an average game managing QB.
  2. Depends. If he was a positional coach or lower, then yeah, but OCs/DCs are just a step below, many times holding the title of assistant HC. I don't think the team would resist that. However, I wouldn't want him out of his role as DC. Either he holds duel roles or he has to hire someone who thinks just as he does as the new DC. Either one of those scenarios is a stretch.
  3. That's how it appeared on TV. None of the ponchos--even the really cheap paper thin ones, were flapping around. It seemed like a steady drizzle most of the game. The one thing Bryce did well was not turn the ball over. Credit for stringing some passes together on the final drive, but this can't be the norm as it's not sustainable. As horrible as our WRs are, a few of his bad passes were bailed out by very good catches. I get the ball was wet, but there were several wounded duck thrown yesterday.
  4. No way. Even including PSL owners there's no way 95% of tickets were sold yesterday. That's what the Panthers reported to the League and where ESPN gets their information.
  5. At best, Tepper offers him a shot to stick around as the STs coach. I hope Tabor laughs in his face.
  6. I saw one, exactly one. He has usually ONE a game. That's the "flash" people keep referring to. The sideline pass to Chark. Great pass, but one a game isn't going to cut the mustard.
  7. Well, this would be the 2025 class, but look who's transferring to QBU!
  8. Yup and replicating that every week is, let's say, not probable.
  9. They were all in the tunnels and concourses!
  10. Some people get it. This franchise is in such a bad place, that while a win is a win, context is totally lost.
  11. All I know is Hurts better play tomorrow. It's down to me and the dude I'm playing this week in fantasy for the last playoff spot and we are neck and neck right now. I picked up Mariota just in case Jalen can't go, but the Eagles probably wouldn't say Hurts is sitting until the last minute. This sucks!
  12. Just wow. Another QB that moved on from the Panthers to have a better career.
  13. ^^^This. That pick snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory for the Falcons.
  14. He's just taking over the role Shenault was doing. It's nothing new, just a new person doing it since Shenault is on IR.
  15. I wasn't there personally, but the stadium look pretty empty. I guess my TV lied. My bad.
  16. Lol, I guess there was 73,301 people hiding in the concourses!
  17. Yup, it's differing opinions that some don't like. I've seen this place worse off in the past and it was when the site was a group think, where differing views were squelched. There is a lot of complaining here, always has been and always will be, but a least people can have differing opinions without getting shamed or banned.
  18. The pictures say the stadium was practically empty. Hard to believe people bought tickets just to stand in the concourse. It might be drier, but those concourses are not warm especially the upper bowl with the wind.
  19. I was at a packed BOA stadium versus the Saints in monsoon like conditions years ago. Rain hindered the crowd today, but it wasn't going to be close to a respectable attendance even without the rain.
  20. Yup, it set up to play out just as we needed. There was zero need to give the ball back to the Falcons. As well as our D played today all it would have taken is a busted coverage or a PI on a deep ball to get them in scoring range if we got the TD. Yes, FGs are boring (former FG kicker speaking) but when you are dealt a winning hand, just don't fug it up.
  21. it's a shame he doesn't have a stronger leg or he'd be a ideal FG kicker. Inside of 50 he's nearly automatic, but longer range kicks are his downfall. That said, he's been our best kicker since Gano and needs to stay in a Panthers' uniform.
  22. They still do that? If so, very surprising.
