  1. Ewers in last year's draft would have been QB7 and a second rounder. With a few teams definitively in the QB market and as small of a pool as the top-tier QB talent is this coming draft, there's no way he falls to the second round. Not unless the wheels come completely off or he's injured. He's absolutely going to be QB2 or QB3 and a first rounder. That said, I only project 3 QBs going in round one right now depending on which juniors declare.
  2. The Lions were already building and traded for Goff. I kinda get where you are going, but apples and oranges scenarios. We suck, no need to mince words. Ward would be a rookie, we wouldn't be getting him a couple of years into his career after development.
  3. It's been a while if you are talking #1 overall. The reason for that is teams picking #1 are generally VERY BAD. Take this team for instance. They have to spend the majority of the poor guys rookie contract to build the rest of the team around him. By that time, the guy is wrecked mentally, injured or both.
  4. I really like Nico. Yeah, he's fallen off of late after a pretty hot start. Manning can beat out Ewers. Ewers is a RSR and "senior" to Manning and Arch isn't forcing the issue. Arch could easily have transferred and started just about anywhere, but he chose to wait knowing Ewers is gone after this year. There's several other juniors that will likely come back too that are promising, but aren't quite there yet. Right now I rank the QBs: Ward, Ewers and Sanders. I wouldn't even entertain the idea of taking another QB in the first round. That said, all 3 have their issues, Ward being the most complete. I view him as mid-tier QB in the pros. The other two are boom or bust prospects in the pros. Well, not so much boom as middling or bust.
  5. Except I've been right on this. Personally, I wanted to skip that class for this '24 class. I even said 6 QBs would be taken in the first round and nobody believed me. A good QB crop hits every other draft or two. It's not an every year proposal. The QB position is to tough to play to churn out great classes year after year, like say, CB. Heck, remember the Kenny Pickett draft? Yeah...so it's even possible to have a draft where ZERO QBs are deserving to be drafted in the first round. We all know Pickett would not have been taken by the Steelers at #19 if he wasn't the hometown hero.
  6. Don't get suckered into highlight videos with wide open WRs. Young was hitting open targets at Bama too. I think I saw one tight window throw for a TD and that was inside the 10 yard line...so short. Ward is hands down the best QB in this class. That said, he's not close to a generational QB.
  7. You don't follow the draft do you? For every Daniels and Stroud there are 10 busts. Hell, you don't have to look no further than our team. This is NOT a good QB class. I'm BPA, unless it's a QB. Free agency is he way to go and wait until '26 when the QB class will be much better.
  8. We will be set up just to fail just like when we took Gerber two drafts ago and didn't have the supporting cast around him. I mean Tepper loves repeating the same mistakes, so I don't see why he would stop now. This team is so bad that we will have a top 5 or top 10 pick in '26 anyway--vet or rookie QB next year, it doesn't matter. My contention is build the team and get the rookie QB in a seemingly much deeper QB in '26. Hopefully by then we have more pieces on the team to help the rookie. If we go the veteran route and the dude is at lest decent, we don't have to rush the rookie into the lineup right away in '26.
  9. People are getting it now. I am seeing this posted more and more. Obviously, I am in complete agreement.
  10. I learned my lesson with RSO QBs. Never trust them, despite the hype. They are simply to raw for the NFL.
  11. Someone need to tell Bryce all dives are garbage time drives. See if that helps..
  12. You were pretty close until the garbage time drive. So for 98% of the game you just about nailed it. He did have that short field TD on the opening drive.
  13. Also remember, in the age of NIL, underclassmen aren't as in a hurry to declare as they used to be. So some of the Juniors like Milroe, Allar, Nussmeir, Moss and Weigman (RSo) are likely to stay in college. I think these guys still have an eligible year from COVID too. Only your redshirt seniors will certainly declare. Ward, Ewers, Howard and Gabriel--Rouke (GR). A few interesting true seniors., but purely as depth like Dart, McCord, Leonard and Rogers. I'm not sure if Sanders has any years left, but if he does, I bet he stays to help his dad continue to build that Buffs program. That family doesn't need the money in any hurry.
  14. Exactly. We need to stay put and take a non-QB or trade back and do the same thing if wed can find a trading partner. Edge is a HUGE need. We need to find our next Peppers in this draft.
  15. Huh? The '26 draft might end up being almost as deep as the '24 draft. THIS draft is the slim pickings one. No generational talent and 2-3 dudes that look pretty good. That's it.
  16. You have to look at who needs a QB. The only obvious team is the Raiders. We need to fleece them like the Bears fleeced us. Prime and son in Vegas with the Raiders, that tradition and those uniforms. C'mon man, we could get the bag!
  17. I love how he continues to call plays behind the sticks on 3rd and 4th downs. Brilliant!
  18. We start him until Dalton's thumb heals, then it's Andy's team again. End of story.
  19. Better? I guess. His first two games were putrid. I have better standards than slightly above putrid, though. A short field TD on the opening drive. One big boy throw in the next 3 quarters combined. Then the garbage time drive we all know he's capable of.
  20. Their QB also had 326 yards passing as well. A rookie against a pretty solid Bears defense. It can be done, just not here.
  21. Dude is the king of stat padding in garbage time. I called it earlier and said he'd probably lead a TD drive at the end of the game--when it didn't matter.
  22. Bryce's 29 yard pass I have on good authority that squirrel is blind.
  23. Which is why it was so dumb not to trade him before he bombed again. Sure, he might get us a garbage time TD. Big whoop.
