  1. Standouts DJ Moore Steve Smith Mushin Muhammad So you're telling me we hit on a WR once a decade? One the bright side, we only have a five year window for our next standout WR to emerge!
  2. TMJ tried to get traded last year and Fitts allowed him to "explore" options. There was ZERO interest. I guess they can try again. I don't think Fitts was actually trying to facilitate a trade, so maybe Morgan can make it happen this year. I'll take a half eaten pickle. The sandwich is off the table. Word is it the sandwich got dropped on the floor from the table and the dog ran off with it and the pickle was too temping not to take a couple bites. Half eaten pickle it is then for TMJ.
  3. Thomas isn't going anywhere...unfortunately. A healthy TE, with starting experience--even as pedestrian as Ian has been isn't getting cut. Our TE room is still marginal and kicking him to the curb being on the hook for nearly $4M with no cap relief is just silly. Let him walk next year and he can get us his 300-400 yards and a TD this season (career average).
  4. I don't know, but the exchanges were often super heated, so it wouldn't surprise me. I found it entertaining in a Jersey Shore/Dr. Phil kind of way. Plus there was Panthers football too, lol!
  5. It was a joke. He should have never been extended last time. Blocking TEs are not that hard to find.
  6. It won't happen. I wouldn't be stunned if they extend him again.
  7. Some other notes on roster moves, not all was mentioned by the OP. Full Monday roster moves.
  8. Getting some Matt Rhule vibes. Careful when then team heaps praise on a bottom of the roster guy. It's like a warning sign. Here's your 15 minutes of fame, now get the fug outta here!
  9. They are probably upset he didn't go with the play design and bounced it out the backside. Touchdown aside, he didn't stick with the play!
  10. I lurked back then on the Charlotte dot com site, seldomly posted. I can't remember my handle either, but it wasn't the same as I have now. There were two dudes always going at it though--Magnus and Colin. Pages of posts because neither would back down from a point being made. I posted a little more on the Official site, but again, with a different handle and I can't remember which one I used. It's been over 25 years, lol!
  11. Meanwhile Garner Minshew had won the starting job for the Raiders. 'So what?' you may say. I've been wanting him as a backup/bridge QB for a few years now. He could have been signed by us on several occasions, but we kept passing. Dude isn't a franchise QB, but he's at least what we thought we'd be getting with Darnold and Mayfield. I'm still not sure Young is the answer and Dalton is completely fine cashing paychecks form the sideline.
  12. An offshoot site of the Charlotte Observer called 'Charlotte (dot com)' had a Panthers message board too. It wasn't as heavily moderated as the Official Panthers message board. Hard to believe for some of the younger folks here, but the Huddle was not the first Panthers message board.
  13. Taking camp out of Spartanburg was another stroke of genius by Dipper. I live a few miles away from Clemson and I had zero interest in going. One of my employees went and looking at his pictures the next day, it was an utter failure. I know Death Valley is a big stadium, but it looked nearly empty. So almost 30 years of camps in SC is supposed to be made up by holding one practice here per camp going forward? I guess as long as you know how to manage hedge funds, your every day sense can be severely lacking.
  14. Imagine if JR wasn't *forced* to sell and he went after Watson. Could you imagine the outrage???? Funny how the 'me too' and 'believe all women' narrative got turned on it's head. The owner? It's deplorable!!! New owner trying to employee a serial womanizer? It's all good...dude's a decent QB!!!!
  15. A couple of 7 win seasons, a 8-8 season and one of the top offenses in the League. Only missing the playoffs on a distant tie-breaker (point differential)while running up 45 points on the Saints in the final game. Total doldrum. Yes, the internet was around and yes, there was a Panthers message board around as well. I know, I was on it.
  16. The NFC Championship game in the 2nd year wasn't too shabby, right? Anyone defending Tepper's record when contrasting the JR era simply hated JR. There's no logical reason to defend Tepper. It's been one misstep, bungle, humiliation after another. Granted, we were never a perennial powerhouse under JR, but at least we would make some noise every so often. We are the laughingstock of the NFL right now. I listen to sports talk every morning on the way to work. Remember how the Browns and Jets would be the butt of every NFL joke? Well, now, it's the Panthers! Seriously, just happened the other day where this team was a punchline. We were bad under JR from time to time, but the team would inevitably bounce back. Under Tepper we have fallen into the cellar and can't find the way out.
  17. JR produced a winning product every other season, or at least a better record than the prior year. if we had a bad season, you knew it was going to be better the next. This crap under Tepper is horrible. No winning seasons and a high water mark of seven wins in Rivera's last year(2018)--who wasn't his hire and he fired. Wilks too got to 7 too, but he got canned as well.
  18. The least interested I've been heading into a season in 30 years of Panthers' football. Yes, even less than year three of Matt Rhule. At least he got canned and renewed my interest that season. This year, no amount of reshuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic could make a difference in my interest. I'll still watch...for a while, at least. However, getting excited about Panthers football every Sunday has been sapped out of me slowly every year under Tepper. My give-a-damn meter is bouncing near zero for this franchise at this point.
  19. Yup, Tepper couldn't keep his nose out of the coaching staff's business and made a bad situation worse. Nothing worse than a micromanaging boss that don't know their arse from a hole in the ground trying to tell experts how to do their jobs. That's probably the point when Tepper suggested we change the offense/play caller that the backstabbing and snitching started. The staff went into self preservation mode instead of entirely focusing on coaching the team.
  20. Reverse psychology tactic. Plummer's level of suckitude will make Young look like a Patrick Mahomes in comparison. Masterful psy-ops by the front office.
  21. It's a numbers game, he won't make it.
  22. ^This, but that makes too much sense for the Panthers. I routinely mock 1-2 O-linemen every year just because of our historic lack of quality and depth there, especially post Rivera era. I wanted a center this year, as did a lot of Huddlers who use the mock thread. We ended up taking a DT and ANOTHER ILB with the last two picks instead.
  23. The sensitive vagina strategy. Activity may cause pain and discomfort, therefore it must be avoided.
  24. The play designed sucked. A missed tackle and great individual effort by a dude that will be cut in 10 days was the difference from being the stuffed in the backfield to a TD.
