  1. Lucky for him Jax tanked harder than the Jets, although I don't think the Jets were tanking. Sadly they only won one more game than the Jags actually trying. Not that going to Jacksonville is much better, BTW.
  2. How many QBs careers have the Jets ruined? At some point you have to look at the organization instead of the players. I don't think Darnold is all that and a bag of chips, but he's not horrible either.
  3. The Niners are either going to look like geniuses in a few years or like complete morons. There's no middle ground on this move from my perspective.
  4. But why #3? I guess the NFL is WAY higher on Jones than a lot of us are. Even if the Niners thought we would take him at #8, they didn't have to jump all the way up to #3 to secure him. This still baffles me.
  5. If we have our QB, then that's a draft pick slot filled that we otherwise would have used. Plus, we could either move back in the first or second round to recoup the Darnold pick.
  6. I'd do a 3rd and build around him. If the Panthers do trade for Darold, take the OT at #8 or move back.
  7. Unless the price tag is reasonable for Darnold now, we wait and let the first round play itself out. We will be kicking ourselves in one of the "big 4" is there at #8 and we already have Darnold on the roster because we got overly anxious.
  8. My bet is on Lance and they are putting up an elaborate smokescreen for some reason. Shanahan's system requires an athletic QB. That does not scream Mac Jones to me. The only reason I can think of that they have to keep up such an elaborate smokescreen is in the VERY SLIM chance the Jets trade out of #2 to throw off a team like the Panthers who was in full force at Lance's pro day.
  9. As much as I want a first round QB, I am totally against moving up. We still have too many holes to being trading away draft capital.
  10. If Pitts were available at #8 and the 4 QBs are gone, I have a feeling he still would not be the pick or the team would trade back. I don't think Brady values the TE position highly, especially as a top 10 pick.
  11. If we want a tall, fast, redzone target that's not going to be an in-line blocker, we can wait until the 3rd/4th round to draft that guy (Strachan or Fehoko). No need to get Pitts at #8. Plus, we just signed Dan Arnold... a tall, rezone target that's not a blocking TE. That signing took Pitts out of the picture for us, IMO.
  12. I agree, but our guy(s) have to be gone at #8. I'm not doing it for the sake of just netting more picks.
  13. It should be a QB, Sewell/Slater or trade down. I'm not big on taking WRs and DBs this early.
  14. Mine are for sell right now and have been, but I'm not giving them away for free. VERY reasonably priced.
  15. I wouldn't mind taking him in the 3rd ONLY if the following scenario occurs: the "big 4" all have been drafted AND we draft a franchise LT in the first round to protect him. I've watched some of his game tape. Davis has the tools, but has battled injury and, like Lance, has few starts to his name. If we draft him, *ducks for incoming* Teddy will be the starter this year. Mills will have to sit a season, no question.
  16. You're a little late on this. Mills has steadily been creeping up Big Boards since his Pro Day. He'll be a mid-round pick, not late. He should be the next QB off the board after Trask now. Yes, in front of Newman and Mond.
  17. Again, some players value a winning culture and legitimate shot at a ring over a huge payday. That said, a very smart man. He's still making $7 million and if the Chiefs win the Super Bowl, he gets a ring and THEN can cash in on the big payday with a likely non-contender in 2022.
  18. In case you were wondering, that 18th team would have been Cleveland. We will enjoy our one extra game for now.
  19. An extra intra-conference match up. We would play the Texans this year. Then the schedule rotates divisions. I think the team is determined by the same place finish. The Texans and Panthers finished 3rd in their respective divisions. FYI, this sets up perfectly for an 18 game season down the road. It would be one more intra-conference team being from the only division not on the schedule, just finished playing or scheduled to play the following season. So If that were the case, the Panthers 18th opponent would be the same place finishing team form the AFC North. We just played the AFC West, our 17th game is versus the AFC South and are playing the AFC East this year.
  20. As much as I dislike Matty Ice as a Falcon, he's actually a good QB and not the reason for their recent slump. A horrible defense and key injuries have been their downfall. If the 49ers takes Jones (as being speculated) and the Falcons pass up a QB, do we still trade up with Fields and Lance on the board? The Dolphins and Lions aren't taking a QB. We certainly would get one of them even with a trade up in front of us. Honestly, that would be THE ideal scenario to unfold on draft night.
  21. I'm 50/50 on this. I honestly think they will give Ryan one last shot, but it's going to be hard for them to pass up the hometown kid as the new face of the franchise. If the Falcons manage a decent run over the next few years, they won't be in a cherry position like this draft to draft their heir apparent to Ryan. If someone made me guess, I'd say they take BPA at #4 that's not a QB.
  22. Meinerz has skyrocketed up draft boards. I was mocking him at #114 a little while ago, but after his Pro Day, he may very well be gone. I've seen him as high as the early 3rd now. He ran a 4.8 40, BTW. Crazy fast for an OL dude. The other metrics were just as impressive.
  23. I prefer "the 'possums" because they are more fierce and intimidating. Plus they are true scavengers; whereas raccoons have some threshold of tolerance. There's certain things they won't even touch. 'Possums? They'll go after just about anything.
  24. If we strike out in the draft we will have to trade for someone's backup or stick with Teddy. I think it's a bad idea to chase a stater on another team. There's too much money and draft capital to squander going that route.
