  1. Yes it's possible, but why? What would be the incentive is what I am asking?
  2. Oops, I forgot completion percentage: 65% or higher.
  3. Yeah, I was nervous they had found some old Hurney notes in the office. Since then the FA moves have made more sense or have at least been practical/economical. Man were those first two signings some serious head-scratchers.
  4. Nobody would argue that in all seriousness. If they did it would be trolling or out of pure ignorance about the Panthers. If you reached hard enough, maaaaaaybe corner could be argued, but that's still a stretch.
  5. We may even cut Teddy, so why would they give us a first round pick for him when they can get him as a free agent if they play the waiting game? Crazy.
  6. I guess Lance decided to do this because his was so early and the others have decided to one-up each other by adding a second one. His will be the final one now. I'm sure he's got some crazy throw drawn up against a non-existent pass rush that everyone went crazy over in the Zach Wilson Pro Day. Wilson would have been planted in the turf doing all that running around in the backfield and probably would have been picked throwing back against the grain. Sure it looks impressive when there is ZERO defense. He may even do non-throwing workouts too. I think that hurt him by opting out the first time around when the other QBs with later Pro Days decided they would participate.
  7. Sewell simply because Pitts can't get the ball if Darnold is fertilizer for the turf on passing downs. We have talent with Anderson, DJ Moore and CMC, they need more just 1 second to get open.
  8. This is my mock version 3.0 for week 3 leading up to the draft. This is the one I personally would like to see happen, not what I think will happen. That one will be next week and my final mock for this thread. #8- QB Trey Lance-NDSU: (He slips past the 9ers and Falcons; nobody moves up, so we take him) #44 *TRADE w/ Dallas* G/C Quinn Mieinerz-UW-Whitwater: (Randunz and Cosmi are gone and a run on corners leave a void in value--we trade back to recoup the loss of our 4th next year) #73- LT Brady Christensen BYU (LT needy teams have already pounced, so we get our LT here) #113- CB Robert Rochell-Central Arkansas #138*Dallas*- CB Marco Wilson-Florida #151-DT Bobby Brown(1-tech)-Texas A&M #193- DT Cameron Sample- (3-tech) Tulane #222- DE Elerson Smith- Northern Iowa Got the QB, LT and center with needed depth on the D-line and corner. This would make me very happy with our draft!
  9. Eh, I'm not so sure about the first two picks. At #15, I'm okay with Surtain, but only if all 3 OTs are gone. Little bothers me. He's injuring plagued and sat out last year. I really like the Meinerz, Smith, Williams and Jackson picks.
  10. Here are the threshold numbers Darnold needs to achieve for me to believe he's a good QB that the Jets simply sabotaged because they are an incompetent organization: - 9 wins -27 total TDs (including rushing) -12 or fewer picks -More than 3,750 passing yards -TWO 1,000 yard receivers at minimum (yes, that can include CMC) -QB rating north of 95 -QBR over 65 - Yards per game greater than 250 on average *All of this would put him in the top half of starting QBs based on last year's stats. If a QB isn't in the top half of his peer group in comparison, then he's not that good.
  11. People are now mocking Meinerz in the second round. Chances of him being around at #73 are fading fast.
  12. If Sewell and Lance are gone, I'm all for moving back a FEW spots and taking Slater or Darrisaw. Certainly one of them will be there. I'm leaning Darrisaw though. I honestly think Slater will be an good tackle, but if someone takes him as a guard in a zone blocking scheme, dude will be a perennial Pro Bowler.
  13. Player grades versus drafting trends often don't match up especially the deeper in the draft you get. While you may be a stickler on your grades, all you have to do is go to history to figure out roughly the same amount of players at each position are drafted every year. Even if you consider this a weak DT class, I can promise you more than 4 DTs will be selected by the end of day two. Nearly two dozen DTs get drafted each year, so I can't see roughly 20 of those coming just on day 3.
  14. There, that seems more accurate.
  15. He has the most upside of the 'big 4'. His biggest knock is his not ready to start now. With Darnold here, he wouldn't have to AND we won't have to fall back on Teddy either. Slater I'm okay with, just not at #8. If we move back 3-4 spots and he's still there, I'm good with it. I agree, I think he's a better athlete than a completely rounded OT. Having two franchise QBs on rookie deals sets us up for big things in two years when Darnold is set to be a FA. Most teams would be jealous to be in such a situation. I was really opposed to an OT with our first round pick, but now Darnold is here, It's right there at the top of the list. If we do draft Sewell, I'll be very happy.
  16. I'll be happy with Sewell or Lance; Slater as a distant 3rd. Anything else is going to be somewhat of a letdown. If we take a skill position without a trade down, I'm throwing something at the TV.
  17. That's roughly the number of undrafted guys we sign every year after the draft. I doubt we add many more FAs, 1 or 2 max, if any at all.
  18. We traded for a QB and his name isn't Deshaun Watson. Can we move on now? This was unbearable even when the Panthers were being linked to him. Now it's time to move on. Yes, I know it's still the offseason, but some topics need to be put to rest.
  19. Hard to tell. The value is cusp of end round 1/top round 2. The Bears would REALLY have to love a player to give their 2022 first round pick because, in all likelihood, it's going to be a fairly high pick. It would most likely be their 2nd plus something else to sweeten the deal.
  20. All day 3 selections. So we are apparently looking at CB and WR in the 5th and 6th rounds. That had better be the SECOND corner taken if we wait that late to draft one. I've been mocking CB in the 3rd or 4th round. I've got my sights set on Adebo and Rochell.
  21. I would suggest the lubricated ones then.
