  1. Just wow. I other words, you have no clue. Speculation yes, fact, no. If you take what you read on the internet as fact especially 2,3,4 persons removed for the 'source', then I feel for you. That's even if the source is being 100% truthful.
  2. Nope. Crazy that fans are wanting to bring in a older, mediocre, vagabond QB on his last leg, literally and figuratively, but are willing to pass up a QB in the best class in recent memory. Only on the Huddle...
  3. Exactly. What if Sam can't be fixed? Back to square one and please don't use the crutch "we'll just draft one next year" argument. Two reasons: We won't be in the position to draft one and it's a MUCH weaker class. If we decide to pass on Lance or even Fields, it had better be with the thought in mind we have hitched our future to the Darnold wagon for better or worse.
  4. I know, but if we were, would we putting that out there? Again, we are at the height of deception/misinformation season. He may be our QB4, but if Lance is there, it's a hard pass? I wouldn't bet on it.
  5. They got to meet with Lance at the first one to learn about who the kid is. With the offseason program starting today, I'm sure that played a factor into it as well. No need to send another contingent when you can watch the workout online and I'm sure they will.
  6. Hmmm...I'm not sure what to make of us skipping his 2nd Pro Day. We were there in force at his first one. So many things could be made of this. We are not taking a QB, maybe we are, but Fields if there or smokescreen that we are no longer interested in Lance by skipping it (but really are). The pre-draft mind games organizations play.
  7. QB/Sewell or trade down. Now, we could draft a QB and then start negotiating! Oh yeah, we could really put Ron's and Hurney's feet to the fire. You know Hurney like's to give the farm away. Hold a shiney new QB out there in front of him and let the mugging commence. We get #19, #51, and #83 (2nd of their 3rds). Yes, there is a some meat left on that bone for them and not completely balanced, but I would not budge if I were the Panthers and make them eat the difference as a QB premium.
  8. Dude's stock has gone through the roof! Do not be shocked when he comes off the board before the end of round 2. Crazy that he was a no-name D-III OG and likely going undrafted to a possible top 50 pick. That Senior Bowl invite turned his world around. I'm not sure if you know but he was not originally invited; he was a late fill-in for an injured player. I can't remember who that player was, but Mienerz needs to pass that dude some 'thank you' money or send him on a nice vacation once he signs that rookie deal!
  9. Trade Teddy in a player-for-player swap or a 6th and 7th this year. Denver has three 7ths this draft, so it's really like they are parting with their 6th.
  10. I like the first, luxury pick in the 2nd and I like position of CB in the 3rd, but not St. Juste. I think that's high for him (late 3rd, likely 4th).
  11. No reason why they shouldn't outside of using Covid as an excuse to extend their offseason vacations. Last time I checked, 20-somethings in excellent physical health aren't dropping like flies.
  12. Drum roll please: brummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... official last mock of this thread. This is where I think Panthers are going in the draft. Without further adieu... a *TRADE with the Browns!!! Fitts knows we have more holes to fill than picks, so he moves back in a stacked 3rd round to pick up an extra 4th and 6th (sound familiar?) #8: OT-Penei Sewell, Oregon (Burrow lobbied hard for Chase, we get our franchise LT) #39: CB-Asante Samuel, Florida State (No-Action Jackson's replacement next year) *#89: DT-Milton Williams, La. Tech (3-tech, we really need one) *#110: CB-Robert Rochell, Central Arkansas (Depth and competition for Pride) #113: S-Divine Deablo, Virginia Tech (FS depth, possibly a replacement for Burris next year) #151: WR-Simi Fehoko, Stanford (red zone threat-6'4" w/ 4.4 speed) #193: OT-Tommy Doyle, Miami {Ohio} (Moton insurance at RT) *#211: DE-Elerson Smith, Northern Iowa (depth behind YGM and Burns) #222: C/G Jimmy Morrissey, Pittsburgh (depth and potential replacement for Paradis) There it is folks; read 'em and weep. Behold a thing of utter beauty!!!
  13. Or a weighted numbering system for each player that also gives merit to the overall positional grade: (10) Pro Bowler (5) solid starter (3) rotational player/backup (1) STs/fringe PS player. That way someone can look at the RB group (for say someone that doesn't follow football) and see that CMC is carrying that group of otherwise no-names. I thought you were a bit generous to the center and RG group, I would have put them in orange. Again, solid work, man!
  14. Great work man as usual! I agree with the chart overall. The only thing I would suggest is to color code the names as well. While the overall position group may be average/below average/above average etc... not every player in position group 'x' has the same skill level. The WR group is a perfect example; vast differences in those guy's talent. By doing so it would justify the overall color code for the position group.
  15. I'll sell you mine and I'll throw in a complimentary bed pan so you won't have to move out of the seat to pee!
  16. Yep, you will see me slowly fade away on the Huddle after the draft and as the season gets closer. I literally get more excited about the roster build than I do about the season itself. Once the season is here, It's mostly just a poo session after a loss or everyone high-fiving after a win, which I have no real interest being part of.
  17. Cowherd said Matt and he meant Ryan. Ryan was really good for us until the last couple of years when he was continuously battling injuries, however, Matt was H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E for us in his brief stint here. He was the turnstile that was being mentioned. Actually, some fans hold a bit of a grudge against Ryan for lobbying so hard to get his brother signed here. It was a massively bloated contract that hindered our cap for several years and Cam Newton was hit more than a speed bag in a boxing gym. Ryan is cool with our fan base, but I doubt you can find one Panthers fan that has a positive view of Matt Kalil's time here in Carolina.
  18. How about a WR or DB over Sewell at #8? How would you feel about that? I've stated my thoughts.
  19. There is literally an entire subforum for the draft. Not to mention a thread for mocks that has been going on for a couple months now. I'm not trying to be snarky, just as the draft draws near a new thread doesn't need to be made for everyone that wants to share their latest mock especially where there is already a dedicated place for it.
  20. I'm torn, I think I had the very first seat on the Trey Lance to Carolina bandwagon since winter 2019. However, if we have a chance at Sewell at #8 then choice isn't quite as clear now that we have Darnold. I'm still slightly leaning Lance, but would very excited if was Sewell is the pick. Now, if Lance is skipped over and Sewell (or even Slater) for a WR or DB at #8, yeah, I'm going to be pissed.
  21. No way Lance, Fields, Sewell and Salter are all off the board. Like zero chance and that is the only way I'm cool taking a corner. Even then it had be in a trade back and not at #8. Frankly, I'd still prefer Darrisaw over a corner, but I wouldn't be too upset.
  22. Hopefully we a pick for him. Realistically a 5th or 6th. A 7th is a slap in the face, but I guess it's better than nothing.
