They may or may not, but they have many, many holes. I have them taking a WR. Cincy needs to protect Burrow, so Sewell slipping past them gives us the best shot at landing him.
-
Only two picks are going to make me really happy and neither of them are likely to happen.
-
Yep and I fell for it.
-
If Sewell gets past Cincy, he's as good as ours. No need to move up. On the other hand, I was agianst moving up to #4 for a QB, let alone an OT.
-
Yeah, and I distinctly remember the dismissal because of the dreaded FCS stigma. Just imagine if we passed on him because he played FCS ball? I'm glad the coaches scouted the player and overlooked the competition level.
-
Chalk it up dude, pat yourself on the back, you won! I have a job to get to in a few minutes and don't have time to argue freaking semantics. I hope you have a wonderful day!
-
I still say Rhule made most of the picks last year. We hit on too many day 2 and day 3 picks for Hurney to have been calling the shots.
-
Sewell or a trade back. It's that simple.
-
Guess what? A re-work was always an option and had been discussed in that thread several times, but people just thought Teddy sucked too bad to be traded. It wasn't the contract, but their personal bias about Teddy that they thought made him untradedable. Contracts are not set in stone. Point being, Teddy is gone and the contract wasn't a major obstacle.

Which makes me slightly nervous about the first round and SUPER EXCITED about the rest of the draft!

What Are You Going To Be Upset About If We Draft A
45catfan replied to OceanPanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Without getting into far-reaching/impossible positions (ex: RB or STs) I am saying WR or CB at #8 I'm going to be pretty upset. I'll be okay with CB in a trade back to get the correct value. As loaded as the WR class is, we have WAY too many pressing needs...not to mention a decent WR corps already, to be taking a wideout in the first round, trade back or not. I'm generally a BPA guy in the first round, but there are always exceptions to every rule. -
Red zone slant patterns are not the most difficult to throw, especially when the WR/TE has his man beat.
-
FIFY. I wasn't one of them, by the way, and I have the receipts to prove it. While Teddy failed our expectations, he is a legit backup. Chances were if we let him go for peanuts, someone would bite. Denver was the likely choice and they made it happen.

How many week 1 starters could the Panthers get this weekend?
45catfan replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I would say three unless we move back in the first or second rounds to get another top 100 pick, then I would say four. I'm thinking CB and OT for certain, possibly QB. The long shot being DT and that's only if we forego a QB in the first two rounds. -
I wasn't reading 22 pages to see if this had been mentioned, but this is a HIGH 6th rounder for Teddy. We lost a comp pick 6th for Darnold. This is essentially like a comp 5th rounder as only 6 teams pick ahead of us at the top of the round compared to next to last in the comp section of the round. It's a difference of like 35 selections, which is equivalent to an entire round.
-
What does your gut tell you? It's going to be tight. I'm thinking the push (6) will win out honestly.
-
Man, I need to crank out another mock now we another pick! A second selection at corner or picking a third O-lineman.
-
Exactly and we get our 6th back for Darnold.
-
Weinke and Beuerlein, easy.
-
He's our 2nd rounder if we don't get a corner in the first and he's still available at #39.
-
Okay, one is Randy Fasani, the other the kid from Louisville ( he was partially deaf) LaFlour? and the other Damian Craig? I didn't cheat. If I'm right, sweet!!! If I'm wrong, oh well... I took a stab at it.
-
I would draft onion-butt #1 overall.
-
You too? How about Chuck Smith? That cured me of ever wanting us to sign Falcons' cast-off FAs. I mean, I called the Dontari Poe bust based on that dubious criteria alone.
-
Deablo is a 3rd/4th. Th South Carolina kid...5th/6th. The rest, yeah, late rounders.
-
UNC homers, I know.
