  1. Exactly. The AFC was hot last year and a 10 win Dolphins team was on the outside looking in and that was obviously still on a 16 game schedule.
  2. ^^^This. Any success with this team is brief, but we usually make at lot of noise in those rare playoff seasons. I'm still waiting for the back-to-back winning seasons. This year could Rhule's first one here. I'm not sure if we make the playoffs based on how other teams fare. If the NFC has a down year, I think we get in, but if the NFC is hot this year, some 9 or even 10 win teams may not get in.
  3. It all hinges on the offense. While it looks good on paper, that's just on paper. They need to produce on the field. In years we've had a good defense (this should be one of those years) as long as the offense puts up at least 24 points, it nearly always lead to victories. I have a feeling that our defense will keep us in most games and it's on the offense not to screw up (turnovers) and find the end zone 3x a game. If this team can just stick to that formula, 9-10 wins should be achievable. *As part of the offensive output, Joey Slye needs to be clutch in 2021; better than his 80% clip last year.
  4. I'm thinking 9-10 wins and either just missing the playoffs or getting a last wildcard spot. If we do sneak into the playoffs, we'll get bounced early. FYI, I called 6 wins last year, which oddly enough was considered optimistic.
  5. I historically exist about from 1.75-2.5 if you made this into a sliding scale. Why? I've been a Panthers fan WAAAAY too long to be solidly in group 1 and while not perennial playoff contenders, we aren't the doormats of the League either, so group 3 isn't for me. I simply go off gut feeling about the prospect for the team leading into each season. Usually I'm not too far off.
  6. I was here for that. Question...do you know why the archives here are absent from 2017-2019? I was going to prove a point to this dude (even though I shouldn't have to) but when I searched "draft" it goes back to the start of 2020 and then skips all the way back to 2016. Very odd.
  7. Clearly you weren't around during the 2019 draft or the months leading up to it. Greg Little leading into his junior year was a consensus first round prospect. After that season, his question marks started to show up. Then the college all-star game and combine happened as he slid to a late first round prospect. As the draft grew closer, the general mood on him seemed to sour further to falling out of the first round altogether. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that a guy whose stock falls steadily leading up to the draft is a risky prospect and the reason the draft-niks on this board were less than thrilled when Marty MOVED UP to take a prospect that I'm 99% sure would have been there several picks later at our original draft spot. It's one thing to draft a bust, but it's insult to injury to trade up for one.
  8. -Greg Little, Mississippi: Looked like a pure RT running the 40 where he posted very pedestrian time of 5.33 with a slow 10-yard split of 1.84. Didn’t show much explosion in the vertical, but his short shuttle was okay. OL 2019 Combne notes Another disappointing assesment Losers These guys struggled on Friday, while also happening to all have significant concerns on their tape as well. Greg Little, OT, Ole Miss Owner of the second-worst 40 and the third-worst vertical jump, Little didn't impress in most of the drills he did do at the Combine, but it may have been the on-field workout where he looked the most concerning. He moves well on tape, but his movements are unorthodox and his footwork can look different on a rep-to-rep basis. I like Little as a developmental prospect that needs significant technical improvements, however understanding what he is right now as a player will be important for teams.
  9. Why did he "fall" from the first round then? While I wouldn't have been thrilled with him at our original slotted pick in the second round, the questionable part was moving up to get him. That's what made a questionable pick even worse.
  10. The onus is on you brother, not me. I'm 100% on my recollection of Little in that draft. Feel free to dig through my posts if you want. I'm not a draft expert, but I get a good amount of stuff right. I admittedly get some wrong too. Luke probably being the biggest one, not because any questions of ability, but because we had bigger needs than MLB in that draft, especially with already Beason here.
  11. Without looking at the individual links, I would assume all these rankings were written months before the draft. I agree that by his junior year he was projected to be a future first rounder by many of the media types. However, his senior season was pedestrian, plus his combine and all-star game performances were lackluster. Those pre-draft appearances are akin to a final job interview and he either didn't want to put the work in or his weaknesses got exposed. Which ever one of those it was, possibly both, it caused the entire League to pump the breaks on him...except Marty Hurney.
  12. For those of us that are draft nuts, we were the ones pitching a fit when we moved up for Little. It was the casual fans here that couldn't understand what all the commotion was about, especially when they would Google Little and saw what his potential was SUPPOSED to be. Key word being "supposed" because he basically plateaued in college after early success and then absolutely tanked in the pre-draft activities. Needless to say, those of us that keep up with such things saw the red flags waiving vigorously and why we were not shocked to see Little's drop in the draft and likewise why we were absolutely baffled that Marty moved up to get him.
  13. Direct TV sucks. I ditched them about 8 years ago. I had the BASIC package and they would go up $10 a year. So over a period of time I was paying $180 a month just for their most vanilla package with ZERO premium channel upgrades. I love how some companies reward loyal customers with continuous rate hikes just so they can lure in new customers with introductory offers. I briefly tried U-verse before cutting the cable altogether and I couldn't be happier without a huge monthly cable/satellite bill!!!
  14. I still say Hurney had little say in that draft. It was too good and too close to what I actually wanted of which NEVER had happen before.
  15. FB/HB can be split out wide in a single set or empty backfield. I doubt we run many 'I' formations with a two in-line TE look. We don't need to keep Thomas around for such rare occasions, if any.
  16. Daley should be a lock as a backup as he can play guard and tackle on either side.
  17. I mocked him a bunch to us, usually in the 6th round. So yes, I would like to see this young man do well. If he can learn to tackle better and hold on to those potential INTs, then he should stick around. Corners that don't tackle well irk me. We already have Donte "shoe-strings" Jackson. Taylor Jr. needs to refine this skill set sooner rather than later.
  18. I'm a throwback fan, so seeing a WR in a single digit jersey is not only weird, but slightly cringe worthy. I like to see WRs and TEs wearing 80's. It may just be me, but I think these guys want single digits so they stand out more because there are only nine of them. Yes, diva comes to mind.
  19. I was pretty sure Jones to the 49ers was a smoke screen. Now, I wasn't sure if Fields or Lance was the target for a while, but when news "leaked" it was down to Jones and Lance, I was sure it was the later. Jones made absolutely ZERO sense in Shanahan's system.
  20. Mine and Basbear's bet is to the start of the regular season. I've got this big-boy for another 3 months.
  21. Section 504, row 14 and I have 2 seats. Only few seats from the aisle.
  22. The coaching staff thinks they have found the answers. We shall season after the season if they are correct or not. Darnold and Christensen both are boom or bust prospects.
  23. This was not up to snuff with the more recent schedule releases. While cheeky, it clearly was a fun way of saying "we literally have nothing this year". "Hey, let's make it about our lack of ideas!"
  24. My entire season package is up for grabs. Face value, no discounts. If anyone is interested, let me know. My normal buyer got uppity and bought lower bowl this year from another person. I'm mid-way up in the upper bowl, sunny side, facing away from the city. *I am not interested in parsing out individual games. Hit me up if you are interested in purchasing the entire season ONLY.
