  1. So we are just missing a TEs coach on the offensive side of the ball now? I'm taking it the entire defensive side is being retained?
  2. I don't think we take a RB in round 3. If he's there in round 4, maybe. We've got bigger fish to fry with our first two picks. I am actually wanting a between the tackles guy like Estime and Allen. A WR and defensive help is what our 2nd and 3rd round picks will ultimately be. Once again we are screwed because of poor FA signings and crappy draft deals & picks.
  3. Yes we can. What we can't afford to do is pay him the contract that he wants.
  4. I'm pretty sure it went pretty close to this. I doubt it was from the rip, but once Frank knew Bryce was not cut from NFL cloth, he checked out. It was only a matter of a few games if i were to guess. Dude was a QB and worked nearly exclusively with QBs; it wouldn't take him long to figure out if Bryce was NFL caliber or not once the games started.
  5. Will Canales fix his height, frame, weight and mechanics? FYI, his bad mechanics are a direct function of his hieght....'Mr. bouncy toes."
  6. Chris Collinsworth come to mind. His voice annoys the crap out of me and he's fugging goofy. I would rather watch a game on mute before having to listen to him.
  7. There's too much to do on the defensive side of the ball in free agency for expensive competition along the OL. We need a starting WR as well and those guys are not cheap.
  8. Kinda like his playing days. Ba-dum-tsss!
  9. Much of our cap resources are going to be needed to retain or sign guys on the defensive side of the ball. That and a stud WR. Reason being why we need to stay away from OL in FA. If a guy is there in the 4th or 5th round that's a steal, especially an interior player, then go for it.
  10. Based on last year, I would agree, but everyone except Moton took a huge step backwards. Even Taylor was not quite up to his standards. I'm willing to say it something factored in here outside of virtually the entire OL forgot how to play the game.
  11. I not against drafting maybe one OL or get a decently priced guy in FA. We have 12 O-linmen under contract for next season; depth is not an issue. What we don't need to do break the bank on a dude in FA when we have gaping holes at other spots on the roster.
  12. The main thing is staying healthy. I think we keep things the way they are for one more season, at least most of the season. The OL is about the only position group largely under contract (of multi-position units). As people want to give Bryce a life line in 2024, I think the OL needs a redemption tour as well. After the season if things don't go well, it will be time to blow it up.
  13. What will Sanders be doing? Dude is NOT an early down back. That's what we really need. It's not mutually exclusive we have to get one OR the other, we could get both. However, I am asserting that an early down back is more of a need, IMO.
  14. Considering the Shiner Bowl and Senior Bowl are upon us with a partial staff, I guess Morgan and the scouts will be ones attending? I don't know if Canales will be able to fill out his staff if on the scouting circuit.
  15. Exactly. Sanders already fills the role of 3rd down back. Blackshear may not be back, btw. Chuba is a solid backup who is a nice change of pace player. I want a pound-the-rock type of back. That way we have the gambit covered on RBs between the three of them.
  16. I wanted Spears in last draft. Oh well, it's a ego bruiser to see guys you like pre-draft go to other teams and do well while the guys the Panthers take suck.
  17. One big difference, Rhule got two more seasons. I also think that Rhule may be the reason Tepper wanted a mole(s) in the locker room. Rhule seemed to alienate some of the players, possibly coaches. I'm not condoning spying by Tepper, but obviously he wanted to have a pulse of the locker room.
  18. It will be funny if Brady sucks as a commentator. You don't get rid of a known commodity that's excellent at their job for someone brand new to the role simply because of their success in a different area. I don't doubt Brady has a wealth of knowledge about the NFL, but can he communicate that information effectively, concisely and with charisma in a live broadcast? Greg certainly can. Olsen crushes it!
  19. I get going for it on 4th downs early on the game when you are up, trying to put the dagger in the opponent. When you are down or lost the momentum and chasing points while being in FG range, you take the points to stop the bleeding. That's where Campbell fugged up. As for the WRs that couldn't catch a cold in the 3rd quarter? Let's say that took a toll on team moral. Also, Gibbs was on the wrong side of the QB for the handoff that he fumbled as it wasn't a clean exchange; he never had a good grasp on it. None of these things had to do with the 49ers defense. It was a overzealous HC, a WR corps that forgot how to catch and a missed alignment by the RB.
  20. With the same roster? Wilks would have been fired too.
  21. It almost seems like Evero will be back. Tepper is blocking any lateral moves; only allowing him to interview for a HC position. His name is cooler than last cycle for the top gig though. Being on a two win team will take some luster off a previously hot name of an up and coming coach.
  22. Almost all our FAs are on the defensive side of the ball too (ones that matter) so locking in the DC should be priority. No sense re-signing dudes if we are changing DCs and scheme because they might not fit one or the other, possibly both. Here's the list: Ray and Thurman were offered new deals shortly after the season, so at least the DL has some depth.
  23. I thought it was reported Tabor was the snitch? Maybe the reason both of those two were retained last offseason for Reich's staff per request by Tepper. Say what you will about Reich, but dude was set up for failure.
