1 sack. The OL did as well in pass-pro as could be expected.
-
We can afford one, just 1 more loss. After that, as mentioned, we are on the losing end of most of the tie breaker scenarios based off head-to-head games. I can't see us sweeping TB or beating Buffalo. There's at least two losses in those 3 games.
-
No, but I heard the fat lady was practicing her scales.
-
Early yes, but I'm not sure the results are going to be drastically different down the road. At best Rhule will have us as a middling team in the NFC and even may see a playoff season or two. Perennial playoff participants and serious Super Bowl contenders? Nah, I don't see that happening under his watch.
-
Before him was Bill Walsh and that move was in the 1970's. This was the very reason I was NOT in favor of Rhule. History was not on his side. This topic was debated heavily during the coaching search and while most of the Huddle was dead set on not getting another NFL 're-tread" those of us that was against a college coach pointed straight to this fact. Saban and Spurrier were flops in the NFL, but could do no wrong in college. Rhule turned sorry teams into respectable programs, but by no means juggernauts.

I've got Miami, Atlanta and NO, that's it. Now knowing us we will lose one of these and pull an upset versus TB or the Bills. Any way you slice it though, I can't get us another 4 wins. Yesterday was about as much of a lock of a win as there could have been. We pissed it away.

The stats don't lie. We were 2-9 on 3rd down and 1-3 on 4th down. Combined 3-12, for a conversion rate 0f 25%. Penalties? Ron's team had 1 MORE than we did and we had 1 MORE than them converting a first down due to penalty. They had the only turnover so we had the only extra drive of the game. You've dug your trench, that's cool...I'm moving on.

For all the praise D-Jax has got lately, he looked like garbage yesterday. Pssst....Donte, you get paid first and then you act like you don't care. You still have six games left, man.

3rd downs actually WERE a problem though. The rub I put on Brady/Rhule is PJ knows the entire playbook and while Cam played well, you don't need your hands tied on the money down. Having limited play calls on 3rd down is a bad spot to be in. Again, I'm not sure the mixture of Cam/PJ, but it was too early for Cam to play 100% of the snaps. I would have waited at least another week before making that move. Agreed the defensive side was lacking yesterday, but it's also true we needed our offense to sustain drives just like they did to us and that can't happen without converting 3rd downs.
-
Cam did look good, but the staff should not have let him play all game. They should have mixed in PJ to keep Washington guessing. Ron knows Cam 100% and the entire game plan was tailored to Cam's strengths with only 1 full week as the starter, which played right into Ron's hands. That's on our coaching staff.

Agreed we take the best OL regardless of position. Chances are some other OL besides an OT will be there when we pick.

I remember talking up Chinn and everyone was riding Simmon's/Clemson's jock. "Who is this this FCS Illinois State no-name kid?" "You can't go against the Blue-Blood Clemson guy." Blah, Blah, blah. We made the right damn choice x 2. Brown over Simmons and Chinn to fill that void a round later. And for those still saying the 2021 draft was better than the 2020 drafts is smoking some dank-arse Jamcaican weed. PASS IT!

WFT next to be steamrolled, by your New Carolina Panthers.

Then again if we lose, folks will be back on the cliff's edge questioning everything within the organization. The emotional roller coaster that is the Huddle. -
Just last week folks here were apologizing to Teddy and even thought we should have kept him. This is funny! Teddy is a mediocre QB no matter on what team he's on. He's not garbage, but he's not a franchise QB either.

Up and down besides Moton when you look at running and pass-pro. Again, we have one OL who is legit across the board and that's Moton when he's at home at RT. The rest is a roll of the dice. Some games decent, some games bad. Good in pass-pro and not in run blocking; and vice-versa. Outside of Moton the rest of the O-line play is a bout as consistent as the number of holes in the slices of a pack of Swiss cheese.

As with every year since Gross retired, LT is a revolving door journeymen who at best are average and mostly poo. Daley's penalties hurt more than anything yesterday and the game plan to get the ball out quick helped him. If we ever want to stretch the field more than a few times a game, this needs to be addressed permanently. Jordan is playing better as been mentioned. Hopefully this isn't short lived and he's actually growing into a better guard.
-
Bingo! If Elf can solidify the center spot, we have 2-of-5 spots settled and can focus on the other three. BC needs to beef up. I'm not giving up on him yet, not as a guard. I'm not sure he's going make it as a franchise LT, maybe as a backup LT.

Good and good. Neither of them were good and that means we can look for an upgrade in the off season. If they were still here, we would be content with them.

An ESPN analytic stat shows just how bad our offensive line really is.
45catfan replied to SCO96's topic in Carolina Panthers
Another no sh!t metric. Those of us that actually watch the games know both our run and pass blocking was near the bottom of the League. -
Hey, I was all for cutting Ian and saving the $2M. The team had other ideas though.

Linderbaum or Ekwonu. Either one would be a massive win. I would like the local kid for obvious reasons.

Trade Down only option for 2022 draft?
45catfan replied to slumdogmillionaire's topic in Carolina Panthers
My favorite draft sight has 7 OL in the top 32 on their current Big Board. While they have 5 QBs in those top 32, NONE higher than #12. You go with the strength of the draft, especially if a position of need. This should be a no-brainer. -
Even if the MRI comes back clean, they won't admit it. There will be "something" there which could be lingering or potentially damaging if Darnold isn't shut down. People will think Rhule is talking about his shoulder, but really he's talking about Sam's psyche.

Sad, but you are probably correct.
