  1. Yeah, a couple of accusers very well could be gold diggers. Up to 24 now? Nah, dude messed up big time. I was against it from the rip. People wanted to see how it played out. Well, the Browns are finding out the hard way. Fully guaranteed contract too? Whewwww.
  2. We only have Corral under contract for next year. For $5M, it's worth kicking the tires on Mayfield. At best we have first dibs on re-signing him if he balls this year. At worst we flush $5M down the toilet. Corral is not playing this year, not in any significant capacity. I'm not sure where the idea is coming from. Dude is a 3rd round pick. There's zero pressure to rush him along.
  3. It's time to move on. Greg is gone, Luke is gone, TD is gone...that era of the Panthers is over. Folks holding onto the idea of re-signing Cam is literally for nostalgia reasons. Newton is and never will be 2015 Cam again. It was a fun ride while it lasted, but it's over. This version of the Panthers needs to see what they have in Sam, Corral and potentially Baker Mayfield. Cam isn't the future of this team or any other, for that matter. Cam needs to use the Ryan Fitzpatrick playbook to prolong his career. Be an opportunistic journeyman. Yeah, he may bounce around the League from team-to-team for a few more years, but if he truly wants to stay in the NFL, that is his best bet.
  4. What's the point? Literally makes zero sense. Cam should just wait until a QB is injured to sign somewhere. I doubt he's signing anywhere with zero chance to be a QB1. At least with an injury to a QB on a thin QB roster he'll have a chance of starting. I can't see him willingly holding a clipboard all year.
  5. Walker would be the one cut. Danold's money is guaranteed, therefore, he either beats out Baker or he's a solid QB2. Corral isn't starting this year, Baker or no Baker. Even if we do not trade for Baker and Darnold is an absolute dumpster fire, unless he's injured, Corral only would maybe see the final few games of the year. The only way Corral gets any significant playing time this year is if we don't land Baker, Darnold sustains a significant injury early on and PJ Walker is completely ineffective over a stretch of a few games. Then and only then would we see Corral as the starter.
  6. So glad Watson isn't a Panther. Hush money was set at $100k per accuser too, while some women were on board, others refused to settle. Also "happy endings" are really a big deal if the person providing the service is not doing so willingly. Apparently most, if not all, of these women were legit massage therapists and not the type of 'therapy' Watson was seeking. The type he was looking for can be found on billboards going down I-85.
  7. Too little, too late. Graveling to the fans after piss-poor performances year after year is laughable. You ask for fan engagement when things are good...even great to make the experience that much better. Now it's like, 'hey, we suck. but do want to be more involved with the team now than ever before?' Reeks of desperation.
  8. Hardly any debt and I could finish paying off the house with a fraction of that. Being fiscally responsible pays off...literally.
  9. You need to specify Mr. Scott...Panthers slightly north, or Panthers way up north. Ron is doing his best Bills imitation.
  10. But not having back-to-back winning seasons under Richardson was such an egregious sin. How the bar of success has fallen....
  11. Even if Olsen is knocked down to Fos'x #2 team in 2023, his family will still be set for life. Let's stop acting like the difference in MILLIONS of dollars is a matter of life and death here. Kick me a 1/2 million and I could retire.
  12. According to Tepper, post-Rhule might still be a few years off regardless of results (don't look at the Charlotte FC thread, its non-related). You know, because he dresses sloppy and was a short order cook. If those were the lone qualifications, I'd be a shoo-in for the Panthers HC spot! I might submit my resume' tomorrow!
  13. The track record and expectations are so low now it's laughable. Improving on 5 wins and finishing higher than the second worst rated O-Line. If we finish with 6 wins and say 25th ranked O-line, It'd be like 'pop the bubbly fellas!'
  14. It's not hard to find the 8 O-linemen that will stay. The 9th OL guy is up for debate. Brown is probably the best bet now, but he couldn't make the roster last year. Daley, Jordan, Tecklenburg, Horton, Pleasants are on one-year/expiring deals with Daley the only one carrying dead cap (only ($735k). I haven't seen Miller's contract and I doubt it's of consequence.
  15. Starting LG is the only 'problem' spot. If someone can take command of that position, the OL will be solid. As I have said about LG earlier, I'd prefer a salty veteran next to Ickey. I'm not sure he's on this roster. I'd be content to wait to roster cut downs at the end of camp to maybe find this guy. Unlike center and tackle, guards are the easiest position to pick up quickly on the OL. I wouldn't be worried about the late arrival as much as I am concerned about getting the right guy in that spot.
  16. I said that the day he was signed. I don't know how well he "excells", but I do think he makes the 53-man roster. Our TE room is weak.
  17. There's a reason all these great athletes "fell" to us on day 3. Not all great athletes make great football players. You have to have drive, competitiveness, football IQ, toughness and dedication to the sport to be great in the NFL, not merely having a near-perfect RAS score.
  18. Mays might develop into a starter, not this year and Smith will hang on as a depth LB and a STs player. The Baylor kid will hang around on STs or on the PS as long as Rhule is here.
  19. You can't un-structure a restructure. It' not like the front office can say...'well, we didn't get our guy (Watson) so we are going tear up this new deal and just use the old one instead.' Cutting them doubles down on stupid. At this point the damage is done, don't make it any worse. Again, rolling over the available cap to 2023 is the most fiscal responsible thing possible to do at this point. We are -$30 million towards the cap in 2023. Even if we roll over 100% of our available cap now, the team is still $5 million in the red.
