  1. Do you really want me to roll out a list of top 10 QBs who were complete busts? There are a TON more 'JaMarcus Russell's' in this scenario than 'Robert Gallery's.'
  2. We have zero business taking a QB this year, unless a late round developmental/backup type. I think this QB class will be a complete bust. Maybe one will wind up (Corral or Pickett) being a franchise QB, but a middling one at that (think Baker Mayfield). I have seen where a couple media draft-guys have us taking a CB. Bucky Brooks thinks that only because ALL THREE OTs are gone before pick #6. That's what is so mind blowing here is Panthers fans are so desperate for a QB that they are willing to roll the dice on what is arguably the worst QB class in years over potential franchise OTs.
  3. First round QBs are hardly a sure thing either, ask Panthers fans about Sam Darnold (former first round pick). When you have a known commodity, you take it. The top three OTs are as solid as they come. Not one of these QBs are considered a lock to be franchise QBs. Heck none of them should even start their rookie season.
  4. Love the first half of the question by the OP, absolutely despise the second half of the question.
  5. No higher than the 3rd as of now. We have the #3 pick (Houston) in the 4th with Jax and most likely Cleveland not taking QBs there. So if Zappe makes it out of the 3rd round, there's no reason we couldn't draft him.
  6. I see Brady as a swing tackle. He's not physical enough to be a guard and not quite got it all together to be a franchise tackle.
  7. If you do sign here Aaron, make sure you live south of the border, though.
  8. We have zero business taking QB at #6 unless you want Rhule fired sometime after game 4.
  9. The last time three OTs went in the top 10 was 2013 and those were: Eric Fischer #1, Luke Joeckel #2 and Lane Johnson #4. Two of the three panned out extremely well. Joeckel was viewed as a bust, but had two really bad season-ending injuries in his first four years and the may have played a part in it.
  10. My favorite draft site now has the big 3 OTs at #2, #4 and #8...Neal, Ekwonu and Cross respectively. This OT class is deep AND top heavy. WE ARE IDIOTS if we pass up an OT at #6! Crap, I wouldn't mind using that second 5th or the 6th rounder on another tackle as a developmental/backup type.
  11. Nah, Rhule is going to 'Hurney' this thing up right as Tepper shows him the door next season. We'll have stupid contracts, hardly any cap space and no better off than this year.
  12. This organization as viewed by the rest of the League I bet Rhule is baffled as to why he can't get more candidates to interview.
  13. I take Sam. I'm willing, as a die hard Panthers fan, to sacrifice the entire 2022 season just to get Rhule's a$$ outta here. Short term pain for long term gain.
  14. I guess I can endure one more year of Panthers sucking to get rid of Rhule. I will probably 'foster' another NFL club for the 2022 season just so I can still get into the season. The Bills with all the Panthers connections will be the most likely team.
  15. Yes, but isn't there like 8 vacancies right now? Even if Payton takes a year off, there isn't any certainty a vacancy will be open next season he would want. Historically, the Bears, Vikings, Broncos and Giants are not bad franchises despite their recent struggles. The Raiders have a roster that can win now and the thought of Vegas could be appealing to him. Same with the Dolphins, the cabinet is fairly well stocked there and living at South Beach isn't too shabby. Unless he's rolling the dice that McCarthy is booted next year in Dallas, I can't think of a club that enters next year with coaches on the hot seat . I doubt he's waiting for Rhule to get canned here.
  16. I was listening to a sports talk show a few days ago and they were speculating that with Brees gone, no cap room and a good deal of key players up for free agency, the Saints were at the threshold of a rebuild. That being said, they speculated...and this is rare, some team could poach Payton for right amount of draft capital. The Saints hit the reset button, create some cap room and stockpile future draft picks in a deal for Payton. They can't keep kicking their cap hell down the road and without a franchise QB to keep the SB window open, all they are doing is throwing good money after bad just to stay an average club.
  17. Eh, once he's here under Rhule, he'll become a McAdon't.
  18. Funny, people act like he doesn't have a ring or Super Bowl MVP on his resume' just because they don't like him personally. Weird how bias overshadows facts. For a few people that have popped in here from the abyss, it's politics as usual tempered by innuendo because they are in the main forum.
  19. I bet many in the Buc's fan base felt that way personally about Tom Brady before he signed with Tampa. Heck, for a SB or two, I could even have tolerated Brady being here. I'm sure it's revisionist history now down there. But for years outside of the northeast, Brady was not a very popular person.
  20. Right now we are the Browns and Jets of old, no player wants to come here and would even only consider it for 'get rich' deals. To that extent, we aren't even cap rich. In short, we are screwed folks.
  21. I'll take a winning a-hole over a polite loser...especially in the short term.
