  1. That's about every draft...good, average or bad.
  2. Why because he doesn't go over the top on his Black side of the family? Before Colin Keapernick grew out his hair (afro) and kept it buzzed short, you would have thought he was Spanish or Italian. Yes, McDaniel looks more like Caucasian side of the family than the Black side, does that upset you?
  3. Even with video surveillance--Saints fans and SJWs: 'Dude had it coming, probably a racist Trump supporter, he didn't die, so 9 hours of community service with an hour lunch break...oh, and and hour rec time--is proper justice.'
  4. SF is kicking a dude to the curb that nearly got them to the Super Bowl and gave up TWO 1st round picks (and a 3rd) to acquire Trey Lance. Who is kicking their starter to the curb or giving up a couple of first rounders up for Howell? FYI, Lance was my draft crush last year. I was bummed when he was taken. I doubt we would have drafted him anyway even if he were still available. Ya know, Matt Rhule and all...
  5. I mean, if were possible to 'Frankenstein's monster' several of these guys...you might get one legit franchise QB. Pickett's knowledge, Corral's downfield accuracy, Willis' athleticism, Strong's arm, Howell's moxie, Glass's size etc...
  6. Eh, I like the Christian Watson pick. The rest was meh.
  7. Yup, looking like the dude in our avatars will be a Jet or a Giant. Heck depending on his Combine and Pro Day, some speculate he may even be a Jaguar. He's really not that far behind Neal at all and some think he has a better upside than Neal.
  8. I'm all for it, but would the Steelers be dumb/desperate enough to do this? Secondly, we pass up Pickett only over Matt Rhule's cold, dead, body. Rhule can't pass up a dude he once recruited! His ego won't allow it.
  9. So Pickett averaged roughly a fumble every other game. Who cares that his team was able to recover over half of them. The point is how often he put the ball on the ground! Now take into account our OL situation and the LT we are passing up to draft Mr. dwarf-hands. Pitts OL was decent too, no? Does this really seem like a good idea????
  10. Yep, I haven't thrown a NFL regulation sized ball is a while, but I remember it being it's ever-so-slightly big for my hand size. A college sized football feels about right though, IIRC. So yeah, this will be an issue for him. Maybe not so much passing (unless in bad weather conditions), but with hits. If Pickett gets hit by a NFL D-lineman or LB, that ball is coming out unless he has both hands on it.
  11. Slater's arms were too short, remember? However, Rhule loves a QB that can't hold onto a ball in the rain and will be a sack/fumble machine in the NFL. Just for giggles, I measured my right hand yesterday and it was 9-1/4". When I hold a regulation sized NFL football, it feels a little big honestly. This dude has an inch SMALLER hands than mine. It's no secret why he wears those stupid gloves. It's not because it's always cold up north...he has to wear them to help grip the damn ball. Pickett is already downplaying the significance. Rhule will too because he recruited him when he was at Temple.
  12. Once Flores filed those law suits, that made him untouchable this hiring cycle.
  13. " A couple of veteran NFL evaluators told me late in the week that they don’t believe there’s a single NFL starter in this year’s quarterback class. Not everyone was that harsh, but it was unanimous that these quarterbacks aren’t close to last year’s—and most agreed that all five of last year’s first-round signal-callers would’ve been the top guy at the position in the 2022 draft." So what is being said is what several of us have been ROUTINELY saying for a month now that this QB class stinks and that last year's QB class was quite good. There it is, so not EVERY QB class sucks and you don't have to watch every moment of the Senior Bowl to see that their body of work speaks for itself--that these guys are who they are. There are zero Day 1 starters and I have been saying that for weeks now. If you want to draft a dude a #6, sit him, and hope he may turn into an average starter in 3-4 years, then that is absolutely mind numbing. I realize having Howell come out this year is giving some guys here rose colored homer glasses, of which is artificially boosting their opinion of this entire QB draft class. Still others see Malik Willis and pine for the early Cam years. Willis is no CAM Newton folks, so scrap those thoughts. However, for those with zero emotional ties to any of the QBs see this class for what it is--NOT GOOD.
  14. Yeah, that's a rookie owner making hopefully his one and only REALLY stupid HC hire. Tepper will never come out and admit it, but he's regretting the Rhule hire or at least the contract he gifted Matt. The Texans have to decide whether they want average with Lovie or if they want to chance doing better than Lovie. Like you said, it's harder to find better than average, but then again they know what they are getting. So it may be like the Bucs situation, they know what he's capable of and if the turn around isn't fast enough, Lovie may get shown the door again after two or three seasons. Fair or unfair, he turned the Bears around quickly so the Bucs probably expected that and so too the Texans. Rookie HCs sometimes get the benefit of a doubt on that third year (like Rhule, unfortunately) however veteran coaches are expected to complete the turnaround quicker.
  15. I am going to call them Commies form now on, lol! Hard to imagine a team I once loved, I can't stand now. Once Rivera is eventually canned, all emotional ties will be completely severed. I still respect Ron and want to see him succeed. However, that organization is only about one step above the Texans right now.
  16. Someone said it earlier, Lovie is like John Fox as a HC or even Ron Rivera. Their teams will be average more often than not, with a winning season sprinkled in here and there. I guess the Bears were looking to be in the playoff hunt more often. I still stand by Lovie is a better DC than a HC. Maybe if he gets the Houston job he can put it together this time and make them a legit team. With that front office though, good luck to him!
  17. He started off hot with the Bears (proof it actually doesn't take 7 years), but was middling after the 13-3 season only really showing two more seasons of 10 and 11 wins. While he wasn't horrible with the Bears, Lovie bombed in Tampa and the same at the college level.
  18. Wow, Lovie Smith couldn't even rebuild the Illinois football program. This is the dude they expect to bring the Texan's organization back from the ashes? Lovie is a very solid DC, but has shown he's not HC material.
  19. McDaniel hasn't channeled his inner Colin Kaepernick. Apparently you have to grow a massive afro to show you are bi-racial.
  20. With all drama Houston has, are they really going to hire Flores? Also that kinda kills part of case if hired, which could be a massive payday if he wins. Dude could do whatever he wants and be set for life. It's McCown job if he wants it.
  21. The Saints will likely promote Dennis Allen. That leaves poor Houston. The Texans aren't looking deliberate in their search, rather candidates are looking at the Texans as career killers.
  22. The Texans will be last. Nobody wants to touch that dumpster fire.
  23. Philly has 3 first round picks and would be the only one I can think of that has enough fire power to trade with us. The question is, who would they want? Maybe if Hamilton is still there at #6 or if an edge rusher starts to slide. Frankly, that's about it. So two things here...Neal, Cross and Ekwonu all have to be gone. We pick up the phone and contact Philly to see if they want Hamilton or an edge guy. Slide back to #15 or #16 and take Raimann picking up a 2nd rounder in the process.
  24. Ekwonu to the Giants at #5 is becoming super popular in mocks, of course one pick before us (just like last year with Sewell). The Giants aren't dumb, even though they need a pass rusher and tackle, they know we are desperate for an OT so they wait take the edge rusher after we pick at #7.
  25. Even if we somehow move back like 10 spots to pick up a 2nd rounder, by the time we would be on the clock midway through the round, we would be looking at something like OT #8...which is INSANE!
