  1. Named after a person, the name-sake of the team actually. I'm surprised ol' Danny boy didn't at least float the idea of Washington Snyders.
  2. It's better than Commanders. Heck, I didn't even have a marketing team or poll focus groups. I'm nearly certain that Commanders was not the fan favorite.
  3. I wonder if Dale Jr. is finally ready to jump ship and support his home team? Anyone outside of the DC region (local fan base) that still supports that team is about as nuts as their owner.
  4. Rhule can't help it, it's like he has to draft his former college players as vindication that he was a talented recruiter in college. Rhule: 'Hey everyone! Look, another one of former players made it to the NFL...look, look, look...see I did have an eye for talent in college! Can someone pat me on the back? I can't reach it no more.'
  5. The Redskins was my favorite team before the Panthers, but after Jack Kent Cook was no longer the owner things went downhill rather quickly. Even when the Panthers came along I would say Washington was my 2nd favorite team. Snyder has completely ruined that organization and I no longer care one iota about them...and quite honestly haven't for many years now.
  6. I get how Redskins can be offensive, but why couldn't they have stuck with the Native American theme? Tribe, Warriors, Natives etc... Literally nobody outside of the media that HAS to call them this ridiculous that will actually use this joke name.
  7. Commies is so fitting of DC right now. They probably just polled the local folks who thought it would be a wonderful name.
  8. Campen seems like a honest genuinely good dude. I hope he survives the Rhule era.
  9. Explain that to half the Huddle. Draft a QB=Superb Owl!!!
  10. Lol, moving UP for a QB this year! Heck, we could move back and still get one.
  11. CEO, Cheerleader extraordinaire officiate. Yeeeeeaaaaaaaaah Team!
  12. You know crap is getting weird when I pie 4corners.
  13. Ahem, I've been around long enough to still have a TC pic or two on my computer I took back in the day.
  14. We now know why he wears gloves, to keep a grip on the ball. Isn't a NFL ball slightly bigger than a college ball too?
  15. Rhule is finally realizing that ex-Baylor and ex-Temple positional coaches/coordinators might not cut in the NFL. Snow looking like the one exception. I guess survival trumps loyalty at this point in the game for ol' Matty boy.
  16. Even more reason go OT at #6 assuming Neal, Okwonu and Cross aren't all gone. One of these guys at LT, Moton at RT and BC as the swing tackle. Then we can focus on the interior and that is much easier done with later picks or FA.
  17. You'd think he learn his lesson about taking a job with a rookie HC or one on the hot seat. He may be looking for employment next off season too.
  18. Wow, you said the quiet part out loud. How dare are you! People are not actually looking at Willis, but hoping he's Cam 2.0 instead based off the things being posted here about his scrambling abilities. Here's the part of their nostalgia that is lacking in reality: Cam got wore down after 7 years of his body taking a beating at 6'5" and 250 pounds. Willis? He's almost the exact same size as RGIII. How long did that last scrambling around in the NFL?
  19. Didn't he have an injury in his bowl game He's probably not going to risk further injuring or re-injuring it for a meaningless game. He'll probably throw at the Combine and work out at his Pro Day. Those hold more a lot more weight in the evaluation process anyway.
  20. Money speaks volumes my friend. Saying someone will take a hometown discount and them turning down more money elsewhere is easy for you or I to say. The dude actually walking away from more money probably sees it a little differently.
  21. I had to go back all the way to back to 1968 to find a top 10 center and that was #2 overall. A highly touted center usually goes no higher than the mid-teens (still VERY, EXTREMELY rare) and most top centers in a typical class go late round 1 to early round 2.
  22. At #6. Virtually unheard of centers being top 10 picks.
  23. If all 3 OTs are taken, then I'm trading down or taking Linderbaum at a slight reach if unable to move.
  24. So I went back and looked at QBs drafted from '10 to '19 and put them into two categories (the ones that actually were starters for a while) and found 2 was the high water mark for difference making franchise QBs in any one draft. The '10, '13, '14 and '15 drafts netted zero successful franchise QBs. The '12 and '17 drafts netted 2 and only ONE in the years not stated. The last two drafts, while looking promising, are too new to include at this point. The other category was what I deemed 'purgatory' QBs...those that keeps a team competitive, but will not good enough for a post season on a regular basis. The 2012 season was unusual with 4 of them and the '14 season netting 3. All other years were 1 or 2. So as you can see, with most years having roughly 10 QBs drafted, finding a franchise saving QB is MUCH harder than it seems on the surface.
