  1. The 53rd player, particularly the 3rd string QB, isn't impacting the team. If we get down to the 3rd string QB, our season is toast anyway.
  2. If it were someone specific, it probably would have been filled already. They are probably weighing all their options, namely Pro scouts along with Fitts/Morgan. It very well could be that they are keeping it open for injury purposes in case someone gets hurt and is likely to miss multiple games, they can immediately sign a player without having to make a corresponding move. More than likely could just be keeping it open for Corbett's return. He can return in week 5.
  3. Yup. It wouldn't be a "waste" of a roster spot to develop a young backup. Dalton is not a long term solution as the #2. Heck, it was what we were attempting to do with Corral, but it just didn't work out.
  4. We should sign Zappe and leave Bill stuck with Corral as his backup. Petty? Sure, but it's only the 53rd spot.
  5. Did Nebraska find a new TE? I just read somewhere of them was unavailable.
  6. If we need another HB/FB type, our old buddy Alex Armah is out there. However, I like the Ben Mason kid that's on the Ravens PS. This dude can actually tote the rock too. A short yardage runner and heck of a blocker.
  7. Kuntz...100%! McBride was another of my draft crushes. Duggan looked bad against really good competition.
  8. Some NT prospects: https://www.nfl.com/players/danny-shelton/ https://www.nfl.com/players/matt-gotel/ https://www.nfl.com/players/quinton-bohanna/ https://www.nfl.com/players/jerrod-clark/ https://www.nfl.com/players/tyler-lancaster/ https://www.nfl.com/players/pj-mustipher/ https://www.nfl.com/players/domenique-davis/ Either Clark and Mustipher I wanted to use a day 3 pick on, but we traded them away.
  9. Any name that would be worth signing to that one open roster spot? 32 team practice squads
  10. I'd like to see another WR, TE and QB added to the PS.
  11. Darin Gantt is a little more reliable than David Newton, lol!
  12. Panthers official site. https://www.panthers.com/news/panthers-add-two-more-to-practice-squad
  13. They both were added at the end of the day per the official site. Sitting at 13 at PS players now.
  14. Must of done this at a the end of the business day. Both Derek Wright and Wooten were added to the practice squad. https://www.panthers.com/news/panthers-add-two-more-to-practice-squad Yup, story posted at 5:35pm.
  15. We are stuck with Corbett for two seasons. His contract is ridiculous. Starting or backup, he ain't going anywhere.
  16. Blackshear got left off as 3rd RB. Guess his name is too long to fit the box.
  17. Still think we need another D-lineman. It's paper thin there and couple of backups with a thin resume' to their names. I assume that 3-4 linemen rotate out as frequently as 4-3 linemen, intuitively one would think more so. Stallworth should have stuck instead of being cut, but glad he cleared waivers. I'd ditch one of those TE's and bring him back to the 53 man roster. He can play both nose and end.
  18. All joking aside, I wouldn't hate it because I don't have a good feeling about Corral developing and we all know Dalton is just a mentor for a couple of years...not a long term solution at backup. If we want to develop another QB, now is the time to do it while Dalton is here.
  19. Sounds like Sullivan is a placeholder for now and Ray/Thurman could be upgraded. Ricci was a STs holdover more so than for what he provides on offense. The final LB(s) were determined based on STs contributions. The offense seems fairly well set, it's the defense where some moves may be made.
  20. Maybe we will get fewer of these calls now.
  21. Eh, DL and CB. Remember BC can play left tackle and Mayes can play RT, Corbett will return eventually too. With Jackson's and Horn's injury history, I'd like one more corner as insurance.
  22. I figured Fitts would cook up a trade, BTW. I didn't think a WR though, more like NT or CB.
