Anthony Richardson declares for the draft
45catfan replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
He's getting better, but far from killing it if you are looking primarily at passing stats--which for a QB you should be. -
Eh, he only had two games with 61% completion rate or better. One of the two was against a bottom feeding FCS school in Eastern Washington. So it's not complete hyperbole.
-
Both Levis and Richardson have the big arm QB fanboys drooling. Stroud and Young are way more complete QBs, but since they can't throw a ball through a brick wall, they are just--meh.

Anthony Richardson declares for the draft

It's not like Fields is killing it either. The "but he has no latent around him" crowd will chime in. WTF do we have in the way of an offensive supporting cast here???? Fields is WAAAAY more polished than Richardson and Justin has struggled mightily. He's getting better, but it will likely be year 4 before we truly know how Fields is going to turn out. I don't think next year will be his 'turn the corner' season and why I said year 4. -
Then she takes off the makeup looks like Freddy Kruger. Any QB that has games with 33% and 40% completion rates to go along with a 6.0 and 2.6 QBR has huge question marks for me.
-
A big armed QB is like a big set of jugs on a chick. That one trait is so damn sexy that they are willing to overlook all the other flaws.
-
Bingo! So why is it QB or bust with almost everyone? Levis, to me, has bust written all over him.
-
If it doesn't happen now, it won't happen to after the draft. Too short of a turn around for an incoming GM unless Morgan is promoted. All the work that was put in this fall will go up in smoke. Same thing happened with Hurney. Ironically enough, it was arguably Marty's best draft.
-
If we trade up for a QB this draft, Fitts needs to be fired ASAP.
-
That's fine and well if you have an established coaching staff with an established identity. The problem is we will have a rookie coaching staff too. Even Wilks will have to rebuild nearly the entire staff if he's actually retained. Too much for a raw, greenhorn QB to overcome. Let the staff get a year to get their feet underneath them, THEN let them figure out the type of QB they want, that fits their system.
-
This guy gets it.
-
Wilks has done an okay job, but I'm tired of settling for just okay.
-
We have got to keep winning to make trading up too freaking rich.
-
I'm about loading up on the skill positions and trotting out a serviceable QB and go all in the next draft. If we want to take a day 3 flyer pick at QB fine, but if we at starting out at Levis as the ceiling this draft, then I'm will to wait. The Texans lost today, we can't leapfrog them. They will take QB#1. QB2 will likely be gone too. There's not a Herbert-type waiting on us as QB3, sorry. Load up everywhere else and make it a comfy fit for a rookie QB in '24.
-
Lions won today with a 51-yard pass to their TE to seal the game. Hmmm........
-
Mostly agree...especially on the staff, but a first year staff and a rookie QB with gaping holes at ALL other skill positions on offense is completely a bad landing spot for a rookie QB.
-
Premature? Premature is having play makers that aren't utilized correctly or underachieving. The offensive side of the ball is bare, man. That can't be debated.
-
Funny thing is if we finish at #7 by season's end, Levis is likely the pick.
-
New OC, oh yeah, 100%. Anyone who is a fan of any of these rookie QBs needs them to stay away from this team. As much of an uphill climb it is to be success early on as a rookie QB, we will ensure the dude is a bust.
-
Sure we do, someone has to fill those spots. Nobody said they actually have to be good.
-
Draft a QB THO!!!! One that can not only pass, but catch, run block and elude the pass rush for at lest 5 seconds because nobody can get open down field!!!!
-
Cincy flashbacks. Once this defense gets put on their heels, it's all over.
-
Burns is purely a pass rush specialist.
-
On the flip side, wouldn't it be amazing to have a WR with that kind of production?
