The most obvious cap casualty for us this offseason. I'd been shocked if it didn't happen.
-
Two years late, but Dalton to the Panthers was something I thought about. I figured he's be a good bridge QB before the Cowboys signed him a couple seasons ago.
-
/simulations. Yup, traded back with Indy getting their 3rd this year and next year's first. C-R-U-S-H-E-D it!
-
Purdy might not be ready in time. He just had or is soon having surgery on that elbow. It's mid-March and that's a long rehab. Darnold is insurance.
-
You can get depth for a fraction of the cost. Elf is paid like a mid-tier IOL starter. Not worth it.
-
That would include Tampa, Atlanta, Washington and potentially the Jets if Rodgers falls through, correct? Carolina, Houston and Indy would be placeholders. Am I missing any other team?
-
Bingo! Also there might not be a huge gap between choice A and choice B, but someone is going to pay choice A though the nose and choice B can be had at a reasonable price.
-
Yeah, with the Rodgers thing still in limbo, I thought it was unlikely that they let White get away in FA.
-
The Raiders aren't likely to move up for a QB now. If one falls to them, possibly. That only leaves the Falcons as a trade up possibility to the top 5, more importantly that tricky #3.
-
We don't have the cap room for big splash names, not to mention a ton of holes with fewer and fewer draft picks. Mid-level guys are where we are at this FA.
-
Plenty of good RBs in this draft...if we haven't traded the rest of our picks away by then.
-
Jimmy G.s biggest suitors are reportedly the Raiders and Texans. Fingers crossed it's the Raiders (besides lots of porn star potential girlfriends in Vegas). Who honestly WANTS to go to the Texans anyway? If the Raiders land Jimmy G., that's a double win for us. It means the Raiders are out of the QB draft market (at least first round) and the Texans may move up to #1 if our staff wants that option.
-
I have a feeling we are going to overpay for Foreman. I like the dude, but he ain't worth breaking the bank over, especially as a two-down back. He's not dynamic enough to overpay.
-
Lol, who? Hooker, but that's a double red shirt year. After him, is a roll of the dice. Looking at 3rd round prospects at minimum...regardless if they are over-drafted and taken in the 2nd. I mean, they ought to just roll with Trask at that point.

Goes back to what what I was saying about veteran TEs and rookie/young QBs. Cam had Olsen and Shockey which was a blessing for him in his young career.
-
Cam Jordan reworked his deal with the Saints to free up some cap room.
-
Moves so far as of noon. Biggest move is Atlanta is trading for TE Smith from the Pats. At least one team in the NFCS values TEs. Makes sense too if Ridder is their starter. https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-news-roundup-latest-league-updates-from-monday-march-13

$22.7M, BUT Shaq's restructured deal isn't in that number. I think that will be updated later today.

12:01, no news yet???

Tony Pauline: CJ Stroud or Anthony Richardson

They are the Texans. Who knows why they do what they do. -

Yup, all these QBs have questions and why I don't think the staff is solidly sold on just one of them. AR-Raw Stroud- Star on a team of stars (how much was really him?) Young-Size, the lock of Levis- Accuracy and pocket presence issues -
Good digging! We won't likely get a Wildcard, though. In order to make the playoffs we'd have to win the division outright. The East will earn one, if not two, the West one and potentially one out of the North. It would be tough.

Personally, I think we would take any of the four, BUT AR is solid QB4. All the staff has to do is have full conviction that some team ahead of us WILL take him. Honestly, we would be fine with any of the other three, IMO. If the Cardinals don't trade back, we could be looking at two prospects even at pick #4. Moving back with the Texans will get us a mid-second round pick back, but moving back to #4 will get us a first round value, approximately pick 12 (or value thereof) back. BIG, BIG difference!!! -

If we get the sense that the Texans want AR and the Colts want Levis, why would we not move back? -

I agree it's highly unlikely, but if the Texans or Colts offer us something stupid-good in a compensation package, then anything is possible.
