  1. Only in round one. Hurney nailed about every one of those. His hit rate after day one was ugly.
  2. The Bucs were in the playoffs anyway even if the Falcons won. Their DC was toast for the body of work from the entire season, not just the last game.
  3. So we are still trying to 'fix' the offense while our defense is historically horrid. Spot on for our Panthers. I see what is going on and it's dumb. If Thielen retires, then I kinda get it. On the other hand if we trade for a #1 WR and still can't make the playoffs next year, then it's time to clean house--again. Fug it, i'm over baby steps and moral victories.
  4. Hurney was at least smart enough to take the no-brainers in round 1. After that is when he did his best turd polisher-in-chief gimmick. The BPA philosophy really shouldn't change until day 3. There are few, if any, slam dunks on day 3, so if you think there's real gem out there that needs the extra polishing, THAT'S when you roll the dice on those type of guys. In the first 3 rounds, take the most NFL ready guy on the board that can help your team. That's unless you are so stacked at that position that is doesn't make sense. Very few team are in that scenario, however.
  5. I liked: McConkey, DeJean, Fiske, Frazier, McMillan and Franklin. All three of the WRs had better tape than XL, yet we traded up and took the guy that needed the most development. GM, scouts and coaches can't help themselves when trying to 'mold' underdeveloped players. Take the freaking layup and draft the more polished player!
  6. If he bags it here, that's the reason we'll never be any good. Paying backups starter money is a cap nightmare. Not unless they intend on making him the starting center or cutting/trading Moton and making him the new RT.
  7. Funny enough, Pantherswire listed the ex-Panthers on the playoff teams and the majority of them were on the practice squads. Washington had the only roster where our ex-players were exclusively on the 53-man roster.
  8. It's a package deal with Shedeur. If Deion can't get assurances the Raiders trade up, I don't think he takes the job...assuming it's offered. I don't think Prime will be a great success in the Pros, but probably won't be a total failure either, say above average. Remember, the top three teams need QBs. The best scenario for team Sanders is two of the three QB needy teams go out and get someone in FA. I'm not sure the Titans grab a rookie again, so a veteran is probably in the cards for them. The Browns are in their 'win now' mode and don't have the time to develop a rookie, but you never know. Back when the Raiders were top 3 before a couple of late seasons wins, I thought Sheduer was the most likely spot being 'next door' to his pops in Colorado. I hypothesized that if the Raiders ended up with the #1 overall pick with Sheduer being the guy, Prime would bolt from the Buffs without a second thought. Everyone knew Pierce was a dead man walking, so a HC opening there was quite likely.
  9. Ya don't say? Call Miss Cleo. The only question now is how does Sheduer last to #6?
  10. Nix took everyone by surprise. I was higher on him than most, but a lot of people thought he had a very low ceiling. I'm telling you now, people crapping all over 5th year and Graduate QBs because they are 24 and 25-years old are missing the boat. Conversely, any QB younger than a true junior should come with major red flags--they are too underdeveloped.
  11. Funny, Smith-Wade was the only pick I liked out of our entire class. Things that make you go hmmm...
  12. Beside these QBs, one was shelved the whole year, one only started about half the season and the other a few games. The later two didn't look bad in their limited playing time, all things considered. Nix and Daniels are in the playoffs. Why couldn't we have waited one more dang draft to take our QB? 2026 is one draft away.
  13. Just a small sample of 2026. I'm tell you all, unless Bryce can put an entire season together like his last several games this year, I'm all over that 2026 QB class. Beck will be in there too as he will be out of eligiblity.
  14. If the Titans do too, then do the Giants reach for Milroe at #3? Big Yikes!
  15. Still a skeptic. It's going take more than a handful of good games for me to change my mind that's he's better than average.
  16. He's heading to the U. It must be nice to buy the best QB in the portal every year. I doubt he can duplicate what Cam Ward did thought.
  17. Beck may back out of the NFL draft if he can pull a lucrative NIL deal. He went into the portal today. The 2026 QB draft keeps getting deeper and deeper. Not a huge Beck fan, but one more year of growth may change my mind.
  18. I think he's a good rah-rah coach. He struck gold with the OL coach though. If this OL played like they did last year there would have been little noticeable improvement.
  19. There definitely are. The problem being the talent of QBs this year. Titans and Giants are for sure looking in the draft. Raiders likely too, plus the Browns and Jets could be looking or their eventual replacement of their troubled starters beyond 2025 while sitting the rookie a year. A dark horse could be the Steelers. Like I've said before, this is a bad year to be needing a franchise QB. A backup? Sure, there's some decent candidates out there.
  20. Has to be generational and Starks is not. Top 10 you take players that help make (QB, WR, OT) or break (Edge, CB) games. All other non-STs positions have to be close to, if not generational, for consideration.
  21. A ball hawking safety; not an in-the-box safety. Great hands, but not overly aggressive given chase and definitely doesn't pop when tackling. He strikes me as corner.
  22. ESPN is reporting the Bears are asking to interview McCarthy. I guess his contract hasn't quite expired yet.
