I mean, he's more of a sure thing than any rookie QB.
-
Well, he's a proven QB. I just don't see us getting Stroud or Young. Levis and Richardson are possibilities, but statistically speaking, there's a good chance they will be busts. But it may be a couple of seasons before we'll know for sure. Wouldn't you rather go with the veteran QB with multiple pro-bowls under his belt? It's either win now or be prepared to wait a couple of seasons to see whomever we draft works out.

PFF - What would it take for Panthers to trade up for #1 pick
Xtreme replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
You're talking like it's a guarantee. -
Very happy with this hire.
-
Stroud, McKee, Haener & Duggan.
-
Young, Hooker & Richardson are all going to be busts, and we should steer clear of them.
-
That's what I was thinking, as well. I still believe we should throw out an offer for Stroud, if Chicago doesn't bite, move on. No need to give up too much when there are other QBs flying under the radar whom we can get on day-2. Stay at #9, trade back if necessary, if not, then I was leaning towards Johnson or Addison. Jake Haener or Duggan are two QBs looking like potential steals ATM on day-2.
-
Do you guys honestly trust Alabama QBs?
-
A lot of buzz about Jake Haener recently. Could be a guy we snag in the 2nd, allowing us to go elsewhere in the 1st. Maybe WR, TE or DE.

Who played their last game as a Panther today?
Xtreme replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
And he might actually play decent if he wants to get paid again. -
Young? Who actually thinks a 6'0 Alabama QB will make it in the NFL? It will most likely be Levis. But a name to keep an eye on should be Clayton Tune from Houston. A possible mid-round player.

Push To The Superbowl Panthers Lions GameDay Thread
Xtreme replied to Catsfan69's topic in Carolina Panthers
Both the Bucs & Saints will stack the box and force us to beat them through the air, and we're almost last in passing yards, while the Bucs & Saints are some of the best in terms of pass D. I guess I'll admit, it's not a crazy idea to think it's not possible, but it's very unlikely that we make the playoffs. -

We're 1-5 on the road, playing against two teams who are also fighting for that NFC South title and playoff spot. I'm just not seeing it. But hey, you're a glass half full kind of guy, I get it. -

You're deluded if you think we're making the playoffs. And if by miracle we did, we're just going to get our asses kicked in the 1st round. -

Yay for moral victories. -
And some of y'all were actually thinking playoffs. LMFAO!!!

Horrible idea. He's 3-4 as our HC, and 6-17 as a HC in total. Our three wins came against a terrible team and two bad teams, all under .500, and with a combined record of 13-22. Yeah, I'm good.

Rams Offering Two (Future) Firsts for Burns
Xtreme replied to OnlyPantherFaninMaine's topic in Carolina Panthers
Our season is done. We could play PS players on defense, and it wouldn't make a difference. A loss is a loss. Even next season, we probably won't be very good. And then Burns becomes a FA in 2024. Someone will probably offer him more money than us. Or we do pay him, then he gets lazy. A lot of speculation, but I think trading him for two future first round picks for a guy that may not even be here in 2024 is a good decision. -
I don't understand. If the league is transitioning to young, offensive-minded coaches, then shouldn't we do the same? The time of having an old guy coaching has expired. It's adapt or die. Wilks has done well, I'll admit, but he had his chance as a HC, and he failed. But keep him as the DC.
