I am tired of, “Next year will be better.” I still want this year to be successful! If we need to move on from Bryce, I have no confidence in Andy Dalton. I am not jumping on the Bench Bryce bandwagon. I still believe that he deserves a few games, to properly judge his performance. i am saying, who is the third string QB? If there is no third string, how can we get a decent third string QB?

I suspect the decision to take Bryce was, at least partially, due to Alabama’s reputation. I mentioned in a post, can the Coaches look at past Alabama plays, that were made while Bryce was there? Is there any benefit to analyzing his performance? (Or is it comparing apples to oranges.).

It’s too early to tell. I have seen games where a team can do no wrong and I have seen games where the same team can do no right. The Saints made huge offense adjustments in the off-season. How do we know if the Saints are improved? I recommend giving it two maybe three more games. One game in the season does not give you enough information to make decisions. if, and I realize it’s a big if, the Saints go on to smoke the Cowboys in their home field and Bryce has a great outing versus the Chargers, I think fans will feel much better.

I agree. Think of it this way, a coach goes for it on a fourth down. He doesn’t make first down. Is he the hero or the goat. There are other factors to consider. Knowing when to hold them and went to fold them. In other words, what kind of message are you sending to the other team? What kind of message are you sending to your team? these are factors that a coach has to consider when he makes a decision. This is why you want an experienced coach who has been in the situations. if he goes for it on fourth down and makes it he is the hero. If he goes for it and doesn’t make the first down people will be very critical.

Bryce could be a future cautionary tale...

I totally agree. The quality of the school is looked at as a factor as to the talent of any given athlete. The reason I bring up the fact that I am an Ole Miss graduate is because I have watched this team since my college days in 1978. I have seen two coaches that seem to make a major difference in the skill of the football team: Tommy, Tubberville and Lane Kiffin. It can be argued that lane is a loose cannon. However, you cannot argue with the fact that he was the first coach to give Ole Miss a 10 win season. Not just once but twice. there have been several talented quarterbacks that played for Ole Miss. The best quarterback to this point in my opinion is Eli Manning. Eli to this point is the only Ole Miss quarterback that I have seen that did not have an apparent mental meltdown when they went into the NFL. Chad Kelly had major accuracy and talent when he played for Ole Miss. He is the only quarterback that I know who defeated Alabama twice however, when he went into the NFL, he ruined his career by having some issues today, he plays for the Canadian football league I thought he was done with football completely. Matt Corral… he is another former Ole Miss quarterback, who was loaded with talent. However, the Panthers have seen firsthand Matt Carell’s NFL breakdown. That being said, I do have some faith in Jacxson Dart. Jaxson played with Lane Kiffin at USC just before Lane Kiffin was fired. Jaxson entered the transfer portal to play at Ole Miss, apparently wanting to play for his former coach. if Jaxson continues to win games against opponents, such as Alabama and even Georgia, I’m sure his draft value will go up. If not, he might be a sleeper in the draft who has hidden ability. He might be the perfect quarterback for an NFL team who is in the middle of the draft. -

I would like to throw in Jaxson dart. The only problem with him is that he plays for Ole Miss rebels. I am a graduate from Ole Miss. I have seen some talented quarterbacks. Leave Ole Miss only to have off the field problems when they play at the NFL level. Can you say Chad Kelly can you say, Matt Correll? All kidding aside, Jackson is an extremely talented quarterback. He is very accurate he has turned Ole Miss from, “ just another contender” to “a national championship contender.” -

I have to admit, I have never been in favor of purposely losing games so that you could get that number one pick. it is my opinion that too many fans make rash decisions with emotion rather than thinking it through. I think that too many people believe a #1 football player prospect is a sure champion. What I saw last Sunday reminded me of a college football game where one team that is clearly outmatched plays another team. Ole Miss vs Furman, Georgia vs NT Tech, ETC. my concern is as follows: does Bryce Young have the respect of the locker room? (are there things happening beyond what we are aware of as a fan?) what made Bryce Young so successful at Alabama? I realize college football and the NFL are like apples and oranges. However, I do not see why the Panther organization can’t go back and look at Alabama footage. I do not think the New Orleans Saints are as bad as the talking heads in the media make them out to be. BTW, these same talking hitch predict that the Atlanta Falcons will be NFC South Champions. (I cannot see them beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.) my point here is never trust the media. Bryce threw that interception, on the very first throw in the game. That seem to set the tone for the entire game. I did still see some potential with Bryce Young. However, I don’t think this embarrassing loss was all Bryce’s fault. How did the Saints put up 47 points against the Panthers defense? The real question is where do we go from here? Do we bench price young and start playing Andy Dalton? No, I don’t think so because we already know what his record is, when he was playing for New Orleans. -
The first pass of the season and he throws an interception. My God…

Yes. People can be very slow to change. I understand what they are trying to do. they want to make the kickoff more exciting and at the same time try to keep it safe. It is a bigger challenge than people realize.

They may be back, but are they ready to not choose sides in the blue red divide in the United States?
-
Wow! Did anyone else pick up on the subtle insult? “Don’t worry about the big boys because you’re not one of them “.
-
I would agree it would be 8-9. I see the Saints being in last place once again. The real question is who will be in first place will it be Atlanta or Tampa Bay?
-
If Bryce Young was so bad, how was the mistake made to actually draft him?

Where would the Panthers be if they sat Bryce Young last season?

One thing to remember is the armchair quarterback rule. It is fun to speculate, but, keep in mind. We did not have this knowledge back then. I think this depends upon how you bench young. Does he get benched but continue to learn and develop under a veteran quarterback or does he get benched with the decision to cut him next season? My thought on any new quarterback is to have him play behind a veteran quarterback for the first season. If you play the rookie quarterback immediately, it would be like throwing the non-swimmer into the swimming pool to see if he/she will sink or swim. in this case, I actually think it was a blessing to play young through the whole season. Here is why: I am personally concerned about young’s physical ability. Size, etc. If the physical ability is a problem, it’s best to find out now rather than during the second season. Having young play through this entire first season also allowed young to become experienced. Obviously he is not a bad quarterback yet, but he is no longer a rookie quarterback and he now has experience. I think the real question here is how long do you play young this season before you drop him altogether? By the way, I have a different opinion regarding Tepper throwing water on a fan. How do we know if the fan was possibly cheering an injury? What I heard was a fan was cheering an injury to a Panther player. I am not saying that what Tepper did is acceptable but I am saying it was understandable. It is human nature, the person who retaliates always gets noticed and suffers the consequences. -
I would agree. Tell him, you have 17 games up front. (This will take some of the stress out of the equation.)

No Question! Draft until it feels good. Tom Brady was what? A sixth round draft choice. we might draft the next GOAT. my concern is too many people think that: you must have the First pick in the draft to get a GOAT. We forget that a mediocre college football player might excel in the NFL.

Happy days are here again. The sky above is clear again. Happy days are here again!! Atlanta Fan Version Krappy days are back here again. The Falcons are cursed again! Krappy days are back here again!!!!

Bears cashing in on Bryce Young trade
Green-Ghost replied to Jackie Lee's topic in Carolina Panthers
My biggest pet peeve is this belief that tanking to get a better 1st round pick, is 100% effective. I believe this thought has hurt really badly. -
To me, the Falcons and the Eagles have the worst fan base in the NFL. You don’t see other fan bases, burning down buildings after their team wins the Super Bowl.
