If I’m not mistaken, wasn’t Tom Brady a seventh round draft? My problem with tanking in the past, is that too many people think that the first round draft choice is a sure bet. Tepper and his administration had to learn that the hard way. However, the flipside of the coin is that the quarterback that drafted second third round, etc. is not a sure failure. Didn’t Drew Brees come out of free agency? Not every player coming from the free agency is a sure failure.

Actually, come to think of it, Bryce Young is in the situation where I thought he should have started to begin with. He is a back up quarterback to a veteran and learning the tricks of the trade behind the veteran. Maybe he will turn out to be a good investment after all.

Yes, I think Bryce Young was the problem. Actually let me rephrase that Bryan was a major problem. However, I do not think it is Bryce Young’s fault. I think Bryce Young was thrown into the deep end of the swimming pool and told to sink or swim. I may be old-school, but I’m used to seeing new quarterbacks play a year or two behind a veteran. I think that expectations were too high for a Bryce Young.

Unfortunately, It looks like Tepper and his management crew are the problem. I am not a fan of, sacrificing your future to get a promising draft prospect. People may not remember when Iron Mike Ditka became coach of the Saints. He traded away the Saints future draft picks, to draft Ricky Williams. Ricky did not work out. Tepper traded future for Bryce Young. I understand the reasoning, “bring in the next talented QB”. (Bring in the next Patrick Mahomes.)

There is a lot of truth to this. I also keep in mind that the other teams will start studying film on how to compete against Andy Dalton.

It amazes me that we are already talking about replacing Dalton. Dalton just had probably the best game of his life. Already it looks like people are assuming “this can’t last very long.” to me that is kind of a negative attitude. it is too soon to make the decision to replace Dalton. I want to win some games. I don’t want to keep waiting for next year to get that shiny new quarterback. New Orleans and the Buccaneers are two and one the Falcons and the Panthers are one and two. I may be crazy, but I want to win the division.

Matt corral was a victim of the old Miss curse. For some reason, they play extremely well and sharp while in school however, when they leave, they seem to have mental problems. I’m not sure I would take corral if I did I would be very careful. by the way, the same thing happened to Chad Kelly. At the present time he is playing in the Canadian football league.

I am an Ole Miss graduate and fan. I agree with what you are saying, however, keep in mind. These are not high caliper teams that Ole Miss has played. they will test will come when Ole Miss starts playing SEC teams later this season. That being said, I think Jackson dart will be a good NFL quarterback.

I would say no. There is just too much ego involved. Besides, do we really care what they think? What they think does not impact how the team performs. Let the victories speak for themselves.

Yeah - I agree. I was not very fond of his mediocre performance when he was at New Orleans. that being said, he does come across as being very stable. The other choices may be very risky because you will not know how their performance will be.

I want to be very careful here. And I sure do not want to offend anybody. However, I do see this topic as potentially cropping up. do we compete to win games or do we tank to get another 1st place draft pick?

I really don’t know the personality of Tepper. However, I do know human nature. I would add here ego. I am beginning to think the best course of action is to bench Bryce Young in favor of a different quarterback. I would even go so far as to play Andy Dalton I think any different quarterback would spark the team. I doubt the players at this point want to play for Bryce Young. However, to not play Bryce Young also tends to make Tepper and the people around him look like they made a mistake drafting him in the first place.

If I am not mistaken, doesn’t Arch Manning have two or three years left to play in college football. I would be surprised if Panther fans want their team to tank for two or three years to bring in Arch Manning.

I don’t know about a panic button. My question is: did someone press the self destruct button? That would explain the current situation.

I can see Tepper and the organization doubling down on playing Bryce Young. I think personal ego will come to play here. They will not want to admit they were wrong about Bryce Young. If it would me, I would go ahead and start Dalton next game. But I doubt that happens so I would not be surprised to see Bryce Young play throughout this year. playing Andy Dalton for the next few games does not mean that Bryce Young is done at the organization. But as of right now, the team needs a spark. The team seems to be demoralized.

Who is the third string quarterback?

I have seen enough. I think it is time to put Andy Dalton in. At this point, what do we have to lose?
