dang looking at the two deep on ourlads ---Ooof!
chbright replied to Panthero's topic in Carolina Panthers
Glad we walked mister out and had the great brass ball Teper take control. Tep took a playoff caliber team and turned into this glorious roster. He is turning us into a ufl juggernaut and NFL clown show. -
So how does passing on that rams offer look now...........

Give me Zack Frazier. Guy is a 100 gritty guy. His last play he threw his team mate last the sticks for a first down. Oh and broke his leg on the play. But instead of getting a time runoff due to injury, he end up crawling his way to the sideline. https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/news/the-perfect-fit-for-the-panthers-at-no-33 And he's a damn good player on top of grit and team first play like that. He has a ton of snaps too at a high level too. I get the hype to powers and svp. But the guy I really like is Frazier.

Yeah, smells of "last guy sucked, this mess was his, don't blame me". Seen this in workplaces far too often.

GIVE ME ROBINSON! Still at 285, 6'5 , 34" arms with a sub 5.00 and 35 vert. Good 10 yard split. Let Fiske take the glory, give me D Rob. And Eric Watts making money tonight after a solid senior bowl practice week.

Erick all is a name to watch for sure Sucks he's never healthy. But early reports were from iowa was he is better than laporta.

I'm not going to say we must/need/should sign him. Long term it makes it hard to sustain if everything fell into place. Too many holes to fill just in 1 year. Too many staff questions too. If everything worked sure be a great story for all. So to work a lot must happen. If we could flip Bryce for a low 1st/2nd, it's not an atrocious idea even if it's a 3 year rental as you take swings later years at QB. The additional pick would need to hit (id eye DB/rusher with the extra pick) We don't know what we have with mingo/smith/tmj. MANY are down on all of them. I have issue with last year as judgement on them. Concepts, QB, line all really made that a really hard eval. Still would like a rook this year and move chark money somewhere else. Our line looked better when we had more than short concepts in 2022 and the outliner Dalton game. Still need more out of the interior parts though. There are 4 centers this year that have high floors and should not all go before our 3rd. This year is LOADED at OT get one! Kick icky inside and sorted a lot. Also we have depth/starters that can comeback and fill the interior too With a full load of picks, team have gone worst to 1st in the NFC South fast, and rebuilt fast. With HC connections, the promise of Russell on a cheaper deal could pull a Evans. That pairing with AT looks a lot different than the trash now. With a top pairing Russell should look manageable. This doesn't fix the leaky D though. I think some of that is horn and lack of a 2nd pass rusher. Would also need to find a true NT if we want to keep with the 3-4. Also have to retain burns and luvu to have any chance. Overall, it's 1 in a million it works for the big prize. Think it puts playoffs as the expectation, for better or worse. I wouldn't do it but the Teppers swing big so who knows.

Rouse from OU, Jones from Texas fit the bill imo. Both currently undervalued. Iirc both have lots of snaps/starts under their belts. I don't get the reason Rouse went from a mid/2nd tier OT prospect last year to now a late or UDFA guy. Their film is pretty ok/good. Is it prospect fatigue?

Add in 2 more Roman Wilson- athlete turned receiver. He is smaller though. Now can really run routes and improved his coordination and not a drop machine. Creates separation multiple ways. Benden Rice. Think he is seriously being slept on. He may be the guy that wows at the combine at his size/speed combo. He's had drops and route issues at USC. Not the best cuts in routes. Can get vertical and burn with the best in the class. Can get physical at the line too. Bit odd but not a RAC/YAC monster.

EH, LT>RT=C>LG>RG. LT is king, center and the other tackle matter more than either guard spot imo. the center can help so much with line calls with the QB to cover interior sins if they can ID what the defense is trying to do. i'm all aboard the C train this year with the top 3 guys being really good. LT is deep this year though too. If we are willing to move Icky inside, things could get interesting. Patrick Paul, Tyler Guytun and Jordan Morgan might be there at 33. 3 late tackles: Javon Foster, Christian Jones and Walter Rouse are in play and like D williams, likely could see the field in 2025. The guards this year are meh, likely better to go find a OT to convert, but wont be on the field for us this year.

so the really bad part: we are light overall talent. outside the QB, we have really huge holes. OLine, yuck, Dline is not terrible but is about to be depleted or overpaid. the secondary eh, lb are eh too. then the RB is JAG and WR are not even that. we are miles off. now if we had reid, spags, baby goat....... maybe we max out in rnd 2. otherwise we are really not close to the last 8 teams, much less the 2 here tonight. i would say san fran has second stringers that would start and play well here from their Dline, WR, RB, Oline, and secondary. KC has 2 good lines and a good DB group that has 2nd stringers that start here. we are that far off.

kyle shanahan needs to be OC, or have an OC that can over rule him. cause they again let one go that should not have. It wasnt brock or ryan at fault either loss. Maybe like his dad, Kyle gets it after this one, but idk. like his pops, run the ball with TD got 2 SBs and elway made the plays they needed. could rode the offensive player of the year and a good/great line to this one too. Also had 3 bad breaks tonight, CMC fumbled, the punt hitting a cover guy, blocked PAT. idk how thats brock. brock did more than enough tonight.
-
correct. thats also a really young group to. also correct. he is top 3 right now. for him, he never really clicked as a HC.
-
it wasnt on wilks tonight. shanny again got cute. part of the wild thing with shanny: he refused to mix it up with the running backs. they had the chiefs on skates alot and didnt just keep pounding it. brock made a some good throws, though he missed some easy ones that cost them TOP and stopped drives. really the end of the 3rd and 4th, KC finally found ways to get the ball moving. Steve did his part for 60 minutes. now the last drive in OT, steve screwed the pooch. he basically accepted them walking down the field with that soft poo where a stop ends it. played for allowing a FG and got burned.
-
kelce was a few yards short of 100 for the game, and 9 catches most of them after halftime. yeah Kelce is still the dude for baby goat to throw to.
-
So this defense has as good or better front 4 than we've ever had, thats saying something. Hargrave was a pro bowler last year. Young when health, is a monster as a pass rusher. armsted is a great DL as well. then there is bosa, who needs no introduction they also have a good/great LB group with warner and greenlaw. when you give steve that type of talent, he produces. that said, the defense the 2 playoff games before this, ew yuck no.
-
YES. people want to feed a narrative right now.
-
Correct. So niners got the refs this quarter my gosh
-
There was a receiver in the area!
-
Weak ass call
-
Baby goat gonna get a few this off-season I bet. Cause they are absolutely terrible at the skill positions.
-
Yeah, thinking it's a wishful draft though. But hey that's what the sim had available.

In a deep qb class should the panther take one day 3?
chbright replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
Eh, maaaaybe but it currently this doesn't look like a stellar mid/back of the draft class. Austin Reed and, if I squint, Kurtis Rourke are the only ones that fit the bill. Smaller school, good numbers early and throughout career. Neither are some super duper 24 pushing 25 year old guy either. Reeds my guy this cycle for finding the overlooked QB. I was ok with Milton, but unless somehow he morphs way more than tyrod or Allen, he's a switch to another position guy. I'm off his bandwagon completely now Don't see tuga being the next Purdy. Pratt is a long shot. I know he's the sleeper of the class for some. But the senior bowl wasn't the breakout he and the draftniks expected. -
Yeah SVP may as well. Really the top 3 are top 100 draftable players, even factoring in position value. After those 3, imo it's a nose dive to blah. There is maybe 2 others that interest me: dude from Wisconsin, Bortolini, then the dude from Louisville, Bryan Hudson. Saw Hudson as a freshman play pretty damn well at VT. He was a standout for the beastly rushing attack for 195ypg this year. He's not the best pass blocker, but a mean SOB in the run game. He's projected as a UDFA, and I think that's a little much. Bortolini is a big dude and the better athlete. Another one that's better in the run game currently. He likely has better projection based on size, length, athletic traits. He's maaaybe 4th but likely later rounds for us.
