So Robby and Shi can keep dropping everything and no other wr can surpass them. Will it take an injury to one of them for fhule to actual bench them?
-
This is the Panthers way!
-
So, Joe Brady looks to be an upgrade over this poo. Or is it everything in the NFL fhule touches turns to absolute poo.
-
THIS. Like dude needs playaction to work. Saw it for 3 years in Cleveland. And when he was a playaction guy he was pretty good. And we have a good back and line built for that. Naw macadoo and fhule are going to do anything but what he is good at. Kinda like burns on coverage and not rushing the passer.
-
Ok defense, so the goal is to allow less than 17 and also score more than 17. Got 7 of the scoring done now.....

I can. Beane was highly thought of throughout the industry. And McDermott was already extremely well thought of. He didn't get enough credit in Philly as he replaced a legend up there but he made another good run here. And early results up in buffalo was again putting a good defense together. Dorsey was the wild card. But not shocked. Was a little dude that balled out in college that had no business as a NFL guy but stuff longer than expected as he just get the game. Interesting he was there when both cam and allen took huge steps up. Not saying it's 100% on him, but the step for cam after a few years in was eye opening. All that said not 100% sold he is some OC genius yet either as they have soooooo much talent on O.

Scott Frost his clown ass outa town. This should not be hard. Unlike beloved Scott, Rhule is not some conquering hero returning to bring us out of the wilderness. Like Frost, he can not win enough to stick. His 17+ points allowed record is historically bad. Let him have that as a going away gift with is millions. The seat has to be cherry red as he quacks like Frost on blowing these close games in ugly fashion. And the gauntlet was thrown down in Nebraska: you don't have to wait. Think he has to get to 500 quick or he's gone. We all knew that the schedule up front was Charmin soft and ol Matt and the Panthers have been noodle limp. Fire up the plane and fly the fire Matt sign pronto!

1st it was teddy B, then Sam and/or joe Brady, now McAdoo and Baker......... It's matt rhule. That said this was predictable if you refuse to run the ball as Matt has done. Baker, Sam, and Teddy are all guys that cannot carry a team when asked to drop back or start from the gun and just sling it. Also, Joe Brady had a better script that this crap from ol man McAdoo. The browns stat from playaction vs drop back should be telling. Give him a big time run game and weapons, and he's a manager. That was the browns issue and why they looked elsewhere and didn't want to hold on to him. They need someone to do more than ride everything off just the running game with their aspirations. Funny that it's teppers guy in Watson though.

I believed in Baker. But I was wrong. Also, the OL sucks ass.

Yeah a meh QB can be great with all the right other parts. A good QB with bad line, skill players, is sunk too. Really been pissed we continue to have a flat terrible line. People poo on the browns line for bakers mistakes, but those boys could drive the living poo out of it in the run game and imo they were waaaay better than they got credit for in the passing game imo. -
Tepper definitely got us into this mess. And it's squarely on him to fix it. To most, we know what needs to be done as step #1, clean the staff out and sooner the better Only saving grace he did have bags of cash to go get us a coach and would have on a QB possibly too. His grace has run out with rhule though. Imo the 1sr step in his arc is what he does with the mess. Cleaning it requires bags of money. Will he do it. #2 how does he pull out of this craziness. Another flashy signing that's another used car salesmen, a bad retread, or an actual good coach. So far #2 looks shaky based on the lackluster hirings so far have all been bad. Only fitterer and wilks bring back are the only nonshitty moves. It may take him 5 years to figure this out or find the right advisors. Right now, he's taking lumps learning on the fly.
-
At what point does Fitterer start taking heat too?

After the fhule is gone we can try to evaluate him. So far meh, as he had some hits for sure but couldn't retain them in FA. The real fun will be the picks of icky and horn. Those 2 may get him sacked just cuase he passed on other players and missed in round 1. -

Jones may not make it thru the year as the giants starter, yet outplays some fans savior in Mayfield....... We shoulda never pulled the plug on teddy B so quick. He's the best of the awful lot and likely got canned for actually being vocal about how awful the team was being run. Think that guy had seen a good staff in NO, then turns around and saw our poo show. Likely shown the door to keep his 'malcontent' out of the locker room. But I'll be damned be looks more and more like the one that was right year 1. -

Hey winless lions. We are coming for that record! We are your 0-16 and want to raise you a game! Browns are not terrible, but this is home opener and they are down we, ol, and a resale QB. Still giving us the business. And the offense for the 1sr 25 min of the game lolz. It's worse than Jimmy C. We could a kept huddle legend Kyle Allen and it be better than that poo. -
This topic got off the rails quickly and is headed a completely different direction. Anywho, it's a reach to compare Burrow and Baker. That said, if we have the healthy WR and RB group, a little luck with the line staying healthy where the rookie LT takes to it quickly, it shouldn't be a shitshow offense we saw last year or for large stretches of 2020. Thats worth a few wins as we let waay too many go last year with abominations on O. The defense isn't poo either, thin as can be though up front. Part of the luck is having the right depth for the inevitable injuries. If things broke right, barstool isn't the only ones to think we have a punchers chance. Heard a few on the radio say we are a dark horse mostly cause of the defense, CMC, with the assumption that Baker is at least a top 20 QB. With the issues in ATL, no Peyton in NO, and the greybeards in Tampa getting hurt already, it could quickly turn into the another case where a sub 500 club could make it into the playoffs. The bucs are on Brady or bust for year 3. Father time will get to him someday, and if that's this year, the division is wide open. Now it's a long shot, but so we're the bungles last year. Imo, it's all on Baker to make this work.

What could have been. McD and Beane
chbright replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean no doubt, but they made the playoffs with tyrod Taylor, a bottom 5 starter. Shows that a good/great coach can still build a competitive roster and make the playoffs. Yeah his year 2/3 was rough but arguably the QB play was even worse. He was 100% the guy behind the curtain making us a legit D. Look at ron after MCD left. It was downhill fast. He has always had a stellar D. Now I can't fault him for the KC game, that chief team was just better (as was the silly rams collection of talent). Love to have kept him and Beane -
So the #1 question to IR, doesn't this limit him to not be an active participant in practice? Doesn't he need reps more than film? Honestly with the 3 vets and their "rhule established" roles for now, this is a game to let the team figure the other 3 guys out the 1st few weeks. If the IR designation is not already for the year maybe bring him in late for reps in practice as #2 and emergency qb on game days. That said imo, they needed to pick 2 from pj, sam, baker, and be done with it. Then let the kid get more reps in practice to get up to actual game speed. Pure film study isn't going to get him going. Oh and kiffen needs back in the NFL. He makes great offenses with marginal talent. Also he is also a part to play on this debacle, he got the most out of corral with scripts and being able to really screw with folks with matchups and easier throws. Also had him run a bit more than he should as a pro, and that was a significant part of the O. Now kiffen, more than the shark, has chops for the pros imo and a comeback would be fine with me if it was here. But that's another topic. Back to Mc. Thinking Corral was a day one starter in the NFL should have been fireable offense for all involved. If you wanted that Howell was closer. Baker and Jimmy G have been in play since Watson went to Cleveland, Lance was drafted and most importantly Sam imploded so much after game 3 last year. They didn't do the silliness of last year and go ham early like they did with Sam. Instead if overpaying the browns or 49ers, that waited for the price to come down and let the browns go silly and backed into a trade. Fans have been hyping Corral waaaay to much with savior when he was destined to be clipboard guy at best this year. If he started it was going to be cause of injuries or we have a new interim HC who gets a mandate to see what he has late in the season. He want in the russ mold: highly productive in multiple offenses but "too short" to play. Plus he went to a team with a real HC, a good running game, well over 100 per game and only 3 under 115. 8* games under 200 yards passing though (1 not counted cause silly blowout).
