  1. Joe Brady’s biggest flaw was his lack of experience as a play caller on the pro level. He was more of an offensive assistant/passing game coordinator with New Orleans and LSU respectively. Contrast that with McAdoo, who has years of experience in various offensive roles and has worked with future HOF QBs in Manning and Rodgers and the choice is obvious. His stint as a HC and eye for personnel (he really banged the table for the Giants to draft Mahomes) is a bonus. An unspectacular hire but a solid one. We’d be fooling ourselves thinking a Bill O’Brien, Pep Hamilton or someone else of notoriety would eagerly come here under the current coaching and personnel situation.
  2. I’m hoping they adopt the same approach of casting a wide net to bring in the best OL coaching we can get.
  3. He’s worked with some of the best QBs in Aaron Rodgers and Eli Manning, future HOFers. It’s been said the Rodgers really liked him and gave him a huge endorsement when he took the Giants’ gig. Say what you want about his fallacies as a HC, but there’s no questioning the man’s play calling abilities. Obviously, his success here will hinge on how well they fill the OL coaching vacancy and improve the OL and QB issues. Overall, a solid if unspectacular hire IMO.
  4. We got the ‘Dad Bod Squad’ with Rhule and McAdoo.
  5. Definitely the best of the candidates we’ve brought in. Of course, that’s not saying much but we have to play the hand we’re dealt under current circumstances. On the bright side, he’s got extensive pro experience on offense and rose to prominence with the Packers and Aaron Rodgers. Although he flamed out as HC, there’s no reason to think he can’t improve our inept offense based on his experience. Eagerly awaiting the OL staff and players next.
  6. Meh disappointing but not surprising. Maybe waiting to see what happens with the Texans. They’re rumored to be in play for Brian Flores and he may decide to remain there as OC. Next…..
  7. Not my favorite selection, but when you look up MacAdoo’s history, this guys has an impressive resume and extensive experience with offensive position coaching including OL, QB, QC and TE. The HC experience, although it didn’t end well, could be just what Rhule needs to balance his own fallacies. Maybe not the “ rockstar” the fans are clamoring for but he may be just what we need. And some guys are just better as coordinators than they are as HC. Check out the history below: a coach: Homer-Center (PA) HS (1996–1997) Assistant coach Indiana Area (PA) HS (1998–1999) Assistant coach Michigan State (2001) Graduate assistant Fairfield (2002) Offensive line coach and tight ends coach Pittsburgh (2003) Graduate assistant New Orleans Saints (2004) Offensive quality control coordinator San Francisco 49ers (2005) Offensive line coach and offensive quality control coordinator Green Bay Packers (2006–2011) Tight ends coach Green Bay Packers (2012–2013) Quarterbacks coach New York Giants (2014–2015) Offensive coordinator New York Giants (2016–2017) Head coach Jacksonville Jaguars (2020) Quarterbacks coach Dallas Cowboys (2021–present)
  8. Can’t understand why JB won’t play Bouknight especially when we went dry in the 4th but nice win!
  9. I think he got the GM selection right - just a year too late. IMO Tepper’s 1st mistake was not getting rid of Hurney along with Rivera. If he had, we’d have probably gone a different direction with our HC search and who knows what would happen. We’re here now.
  10. Don’t forget “Jean Fridays” Yeah but by Huddle logic he’s the better owner. There’s no arguing JR’s W/L record and he’ll always have a place in our collective hearts fit bringing the NFL to the Carolinas but Tepper has a ways before he can be dubbed the worse owner in the NFL.
  11. I heard that but it makes no sense to me. Why would Tepper make that an ultimatum for keeping his job? It would be easier to just fire Rhule and start over. Never heard of a team choosing a HC on the condition of their choice for OC. Sounds like more BS speculation from some talking head. Or maybe it’s true. Either way, I’m not buying it.
  12. Look on the bright side…if the Texans hire Flores, it we’ll finally be out of the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes.
  13. I can see the Packers representing the NFC in the SB. It’ll be a toss up in AFC. The League loves a good story, and with the passing of John Madden/John Gruden fiasco and Big Ben’s upcoming retirement, a Raiders-Steelers AFC championship matchup wouldn’t surprise me at all.
  14. Short answer, no. Too much money on the books to cut ties with Rhule right now. I believe Rhule gets a 3rd year with the understanding that the team must show significant improvement, if not the playoffs, or he’s out. Rhule is not going to take an OC that will make him look over his shoulder.
  15. And too many empty possessions. Hornets look a little fatigued tonight.
  16. Can’t understand why we keep settling for 3’s when it’s clear we’re struggling.
  17. That’s nice but for a change I’d like the Panthers to aspire beyond “decent”. He’s got experience so there’s that.
  18. Marty and Mrs Rhule’s meatballs
  19. Good question. Why not just pull the plug on Rhule and start over with a new staff? Seems Tepper is making the same mistakes expecting different results.
  20. I believe Bouye will be a cap casualty due to the current depth in the secondary. He’s played well when he was on the field which wasn’t too often due to injuries. Give me Horn, Henderson, Gilmore and Taylor. Let’s not forget Stantley-Oliver and Troy Pride coming off IR. Both are decent special teamers and on rookie deals.
  21. Yeah Okam was unexpected for sure. This was his 1st year as DL coach and it seems unfair as there were bigger problem areas. The Panthers run D needs a full evaluation and perhaps a fresh perspective is needed there.
