  1. No he’s just not ready to play LT. Why we didn’t start him @ LG with Christensen manning the LT spot is beyond me.
  2. Pass rush has gone anemic and now we know why: Burns on the sidelines
  3. This is what happens when you allow the GM from the previous failing regime to hire your HC for the future. That job s/h been left up to the new GM.
  4. If true, this explains why the D has gone to sh-t. It’s going to be a long season.
  5. Everyone knows OBJ is a headcase but speaking as one myself your point is well taken
  6. And don’t forget his wife’s meatballs that Hurney couldn’t get enough of.
  7. I’d be down with Brian Flores. And with an owner like Tepper, we’d probably be one of the few teams to give him another shot.
  8. Agreed. Or at least until he’s better acclimated to the speed of the NFL. What I find strange is Brady Christensen is better suited at the LT, so he’s well suited as a placeholder if or until Ikewonu gets up to speed. Ickey’s strengths are his power and run blocking which is well-suited for the LG position and he’s got college experience at the position. I can’t understand why the Panthers are always trying to pound square pegs into round holes.
  9. Still don’t understand why we didn’t start Ickey at LG until he’s better acclimated at LT. We also seem to get it wrong.
  10. They did but you’re right. With the exception of some big plays we were god-awful!
  11. That’s what we’re known for. Breaking other teams’ bad streaks.
  12. Refs handed the Browns the game on a bogus call. And Rhule didn’t help things by playing for a FG on the previous series.
  13. My biggest problem with Rhule is he has a bad habit of explaining too much. And when that happens, he inevitably says something dumb as is often the case with most of us. Case in point: the Brady Christensen arm length fiasco from last year. And now trying to explain away giving up on a 2nd year player which I’m personally not happy about. He needs to take a page out of Belicheck’s “less is more” playbook.
  14. It’s time to purge the OL depth. It’s been quite uninspiring until recently. It’s encouraging that we got Cade Mays. Hopefully we’ll continue building quality depth in the coming offseasons.
  15. Was hoping we could get Barnes and Rambo back but I’m happy we could keep Derek Wright and Tae Hayes.
  16. I believe Fitterer is a legit GM. He, Dan Morgan and the rest of the FO is firming a good nucleus for the future. The jury is still out on Rhule. I’m hoping this past offseason of coaching changes and FA acquisitions are indications of an upward trend on the field.
  17. Can’t label him a bust just yet. Kid got dealt a bad hand IMO. In typical Panthers’ fashion, we placed him at a considerable disadvantage with limited reps and subpar supporting cast. The good news is he gets a redshirt season to learn while rehabbing and, if he makes a full recovery, he has a decent shot at making the roster as top backup (Mayfield works out) or competing for the starting job next season.
  18. I blame this on Rhule’s player evaluation, ex-OC Joe Brady and their trying to own the Saints, since they traded up to take him from under them. If he was a known injury risk someone should have been the sensible one in the room to pump the brakes.
  19. Yup, Mays has potential and provides good depth along the interior OL. The rest are expendable including Daley. He’s been a real disappointment. He had such potential when we drafted him a few years back. Not sure what’s happened to him.
  20. Agree on both. As stated earlier, if we can save $2M or so in cap space, I’m all for it. Pleasant was cut today but can be brought back on the PS. I don’t see us cutting Robinson over what happened last week. The guy makes plays and provides decent depth at safety, not to mention his value on ST.
  21. Sadly you may be right. Both of these duds can hit the bricks as far as I’m concerned. They’re both subpar.
  22. Had hoped for Brown but last night’s showing was abysmal. Rhule’s player evaluation leaves a lot to be desired.
  23. Yikes! That’s not good and one can only hope that a change of scenario and scheme may be what’s needed. I’d be happy with either Bozeman working out or a ‘23 rookie if this is the case. Thanks for the info!
