We need an overall infusion of talent on D but it starts in the trenches. A true NT, DE/Edge, then FS and another potential starter opposite Jaycee Horn would do wonders for our D.

BREAKING:Panthers re-sign Chuba Hubbard
Prowler2k18 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
True. And there’s been an increasing emphasis of using RBs in the passing game, which is Brooks’ strength. When I watch his tape, he reminds me of another Longhorn alumni - Jamal Charles. If we can get anything close to that kind of success from Brooks, our backfield is set for a while and our offense will be potent. -
BREAKING:Panthers re-sign Chuba Hubbard
Prowler2k18 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah but Sanders is gone after this year and Brooks is a rookie just making his debut after recovering from knee surgery. For a team that places emphasis on running the ball, this is a good move to build depth now. And let’s not forget, we got Brooks on a rookie contract, so we got at least 3-4 years before sinking $$$ into the position again. -
I hope Mingo benefits from the change of scenery. It’s nice to see us come out ahead on a trade for once.

C Mays / LT Christensen LT vs C Christensen / LT Ekwonu
Prowler2k18 replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’ve been saying since we drafted him that he’d be much better @ LG. Speed rushers off the edge have always been a problem for him. -
That call was unmitigated bull poo. These refs are doing everything they can to help the champs…..and now Melo may get a flagrant smdh

With the first pick, don't draft a QB? Draft a DE? C'mon!
Prowler2k18 replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
Based on this logic, that would be Jeanty/RB/Boise State or Deone Walker/DT/Kentucky. Only if we trade down though. I don’t see a potential franchise QB in the ‘25 draft. -
I agree some of the play calls were suspect especially that fake punt but as someone mentioned earlier this isn’t close to being the main problem of this season. Canales deserves a mulligan with the growing injuries and lack of talent and depth.
-
No, I think we have the 1st pick in ‘25 on lock. We may have a chance against a hapless Saints team next week or maybe even the Giants in Germany but I can’t see much success beyond that.

Wonder how many players have had career days against us
Prowler2k18 replied to dave-o's topic in Carolina Panthers
Way too many to count -
And the hits keep coming for the defense. DJ Johnson out with an ankle injury

Dan Graziano: Panthers will trade Diontae Johnson
Prowler2k18 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
We’re not trading XL or Coker. These young players are our future and should be developed. Thielen and Johnson are definitely on the table. Thomas has not trade value. -
Wonnun spoke about his set back today…
Prowler2k18 replied to Panthercougar68's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not sure we’ll see Wonnum on the field this season. And with the growing list of injuries, it’s probably a moot point anyway. -
We have to figure out our future core team
Prowler2k18 replied to RumHam's topic in Carolina Panthers
This has always been my take as well. As the saying goes, “Rome wasn’t built in a day”. With the current state of this team, it’s going to take a few seasons to get back to respectability and longer to be mentioned in the same breath with Detroit or Green Bay. -
Week 8: Draft Status Update
Prowler2k18 replied to Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D.'s topic in Carolina Panthers
Even if we lose out the remaining season, firing Morgan and Canales solves nothing and will only further damage Tepper’s bad reputation as an impetuous, impatient and incompetent owner. This team will continue to suck until we get this roster in better shape. Period. Any coach or GM would have a hard time making chicken salad out of this,…well you know. -
We have talent but overall this team is woefully lacking. Gonna take awhile to build this roster into a winner.
-
I like the new direction but Hornets’ ugly habit of squandering a big lead resurfaced again tonight. Good thing it’s preseason and I’m sure a learning opportunity for the young guys.

If We Don't Win Another Game. Do We Make Any Trades??
Prowler2k18 replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree to an extent but if we keep losing, and that’s a real possibility with the mounting injuries and defensive struggles, there’s a good chance DJ won’t be making plans to stick around beyond this season. In that case, I say we definitely should consider trading him for by the deadline. Let’s face it - it’s going to take some time to build this team into a winner. We’re not just a player or two away either. What’s the use of holding onto a valuable player who may not be around after this year anyway when we could possibly net draft capital that will help our team in the long run? -
Passing on Zach Frazier is still a head scratcher for me. But this is what separates winning franchises from ones like ours. We had the opportunity to take Creed Humphrey and Trey Smith, two stalwart OL for Kansas City, in the 2020 draft but we passed up on them for guys that aren’t even on the team now. I hope the new regime of Morgan and Tilis will make better personnel decisions going forward.
-
With injuries mounting all over the roster and an increasingly depleted defense, Travis Hunter is a luxury we just can’t afford. We need foundation pieces e.g. DL, DE/Edge, IOL (Corbitt lost for the season, no heir apparent or depth), ILB, etc. Fortunately the 2025 draft is stocked with players at these positions that can help us. Hunter is a phenomenal player but let’s not lose sight of where we are and build intelligently to get better for the long haul.

Why even be mad at about this one?
Prowler2k18 replied to Diehardpanth02's topic in Carolina Panthers
Couldn’t agree more. We’ve needed to tear this thing down to the studs for years now. Tepper is finally being forced to accept this reality. -
Sorry guys and gals but the hits keep coming https://www.panthers.com/news/center-austin-corbett-lost-for-the-season-to-biceps-injury

Prowler2k18 replied to Diehardpanth02's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agree and for the entire season. Maybe now he’ll see the team as it really is - a hot mess - and take the hard lesson of letting the right people make football decisions without interference. We can only hope! -

Prowler2k18 replied to Diehardpanth02's topic in Carolina Panthers
Can’t say I’m mad either. I think we all knew this season was a wash. The roster has been terribly mismanaged since Tepper purchased the team and the chickens have come home to roost. It’s going to take us several years to get back to relevancy. Might as well accept it for what it is and endure the process.
