  1. Sad but true. Mediocrity has been baked into the culture of this team. We’re not tough or talented enough to be a playoff team.
  2. They would’ve killed us with a better QB and play calling. They basically beat us at our own game.
  3. Much respect to Wilks but today confirmed a couple of things for me: 1) mediocrity and ultra conservative play calling is baked into the culture of this team for a long time. With the exception of a few seasons, we always have trouble with consistency. I’m not sure things will ever change with the current coaching regime. 2) our roster is woefully short on viable talent needed to play our brand of football, which certainly contributes to problem #1. We have too many holes to be a playoff team as things stand right now.
  4. Defense looking dejected. Straight up owned by the Steelers - 12 of 14 on successful 3rd downs
  5. Didn’t see CJ Henderson on the inactive list. Did anyone put out an APB or AMBER alert? Call 911 because Taylor has been getting abused all day!
  6. Your Carolina Panthers ladies and gents: making average to below average QBs look like HoFamers. This doesn’t bode well for the rest of the season.
  7. Don’t be too hard on yourself. You’re in good company with the rest of us! Everytime you start believing in this team, they lay an egg. Will be interesting to see how Wilks & co comes out after halftime.
  8. 48 3-and-out drives (3rd most in the NFL) Our Panthers offense ladies and gents!
  9. Could this pair of announcers be any more Pro-Steelers?
  10. Never a truck driver but logged plenty of miles on I-80 crossing the state of PA going to the Midwest. Talk about a long haul!
  11. Agree with your assessment here. If Wilks is considered for HC (which is likely a given), the choice of OC will be critical to whether he keeps the job IMO
  12. Sorry didn’t see your earlier post. Agree Jaycee reminds me a lot of Chris Gamble but I think the former is a little further along at this point in his young career than the latter.
  13. This is practically Horn’s rookie season after last year’s injury robbed him of his 1st season. The best is yet to come.
  14. Glad we got points but missed a golden opportunity on this drive
  15. We’ll so much for a potential upset by the Texans
  16. I agree with the earlier post that we need to extend Bozeman asap. If by some chance we lose him e.g. he signs elsewhere as a FA, then he at least deserves a look. But he wouldn’t be my 1st or 2nd option.
  17. Note to Tepper: Never let the outgoing GM make the coaching hire for the future. Hopefully Fitterer stays around but if not….DON’T DO IT!!!
  18. Good points. Don’t get me wrong - with the exception of the Bengals’ beat down, this team has really turned it around especially defensively. I wouldn’t be too upset if Wilks takes over permanently but the offensive focus needs to be scoring points and not just field position and ball control.
  19. This would make sense. The resignation of Dave Shaw from Stanford is also interesting. Would he be worth considering by Wilks since he has NFL experience on offense and a native to boot?
  20. Please….no more retreads. Agree on the strong D and running game.
  21. He’s right - too early and inappropriate for him to say either way. We’re still too inconsistent on offense and we’ve primarily dominated against weaker opponents e.g. Atlanta and Denver. I like Wilks a lot but he’s still too conservative (though that fake punt was a gutsy call). The team’s performance down the stretch will certainly be telling.
  22. Nebraska Cornhuskers hire former Panthers coach Rhule https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article269236632.html Happy for Rhule and his family. Seemed like a decent fellow but just didn’t work here. Wish him nothing but the best!

  24. Begs the question: what EXACTLY convinced MJ that Hayward was worth $120 million dollar contract with his injury history?
