Why did we trade for him again?
-
Time for the D to wear down
-
And we follow up a brilliant TD play with a pointless, stupid 2-Pat conversion which of course fails. WTF? Now instead of being down by 1 score we’re down by a score and a FG. SMDH

You’d probably be better off prepping for the prime time game
-
A waste of good D and ST plays
-
And Mayfield with the usual INT
-
Offensive line getting manhandled
-
Not totally embarrassing ourselves so far. D is playing as well as you can expect. If only the offense can show a shimmer of competence…..

The real owner we missed out on… Mark Richardson
Prowler2k18 replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I guess you can understand why. Richardson carried the water for the NFL since the team’s establishment. He kept that damn NFL logo at midfield despite fan objection out of reverence to the League and practically dedicate his life to it. And how did they repay him? I get the feeling that JR may have made some enemies after the negotiations of the last CBA (the pie chart press conference comes to mind). Based on more egregious conduct by other owners e.g. Snyder, it certainly appears influential people within the owner’s circle were waiting for the opportunity to force him out. I think it was the right decision but I question the motive. -
This is what I take the most issue with. Tepper already put it out there that this was going to be a long-term rebuild and asked the fans for patience. We even had COVID during Rhule’s 1st season as an added reprieve. And what have we seen? A revolving door of reclamation projects at QB, loss of draft capital for multiple acquisitions that have yet to pan out, to name a few missteps, and a trend in the wrong direction. What happened to the “plan”? This team and organization is an enigma!

Yup that about sums it up

Official Cardinals at Panthers GameDay Thread

Defense is starting to wear down. If the Cardinals offense wasn’t equally inept, this game would be close. Thanks offense -

Smdh that’s the only way we can get Higgins the ball? What a freaking moronic play call. -

Unbelievable!!!! -
What Cam Newton could’ve been with competent offensive coaching and better supporting cast.
-
Dan Quinn? Oy….I’m with you on that!!! You got me intrigued by Ben Johnson. Innovative offensive play caller with extensive connections to the Carolinas. And young…less expensive than Payton for sure. I agree that Tepper needs to defer to his brain trust (which is what I guess he was trying to do with Hurney until he found out otherwise) next go-round. And I really hope Fitterer and co. takes their time with all viable candidates to ensure we get this right.

Aaron Wilson: Tepper's patience with Rhule growing thin
Prowler2k18 replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
Mr Scot got me intrigued with Ben Johnson. Either him or Flores would be my preference. Payton would be too expensive to pry from the Saints, and Quinn is a much better DC than HC. That said, unless we really implode this season, I expect Rhule to be back for year 5, if for no other reason than not wanting to eat the remainder of that ridiculous contract. -
Feel sorry for DJ. He’s dealt with crappy QB play since he’s been here. I’m really surprised he resigned to stay here (although I’m glad he did) and hope this offense gets untracked.
-
This ^ DJ’s game is more break tackles, YAC type receiving. Anderson is supposed to be our deep threat but he’s not strong enough to get past physical DBs to get open or fast enough to blow by anyone consistently. We have make that a priority next offseason.
-
Not much insight from me, Scot but it looks like typical Panthers’ square peg-round hole stuff. Are we a WCO offense (which our skill players would excel) or a power running offense (which is what we’re still trying to do with McCaffrey running between the tackles)? Makes it hard to create an identity or define ourselves that way.
-
I believe we have an opportunity to win the next two home games. We’ve had Arizona’s number for a while and Sunday’s weather should slant the game in our favor. San Francisco’s offense is about as putrid as ours and we can win a potential defensive slugfest. We could have a 3-2 record before heading to LA to face the Rams.
-
Indeed. Frankie has played like a man possessed. If we can maintain the defensive intensity (minus the dreaded soft zone crap on the back end) and get the offense on track, we have a chance to take the next few games and hit .500 by the time we face the Rams.
-
Ok but what can you expect from a rookie 3 games into the season? I would’ve prefer he started at LG and Christensen at LT but not my call. I’m sure he’s doing the best he can but there will be growing pains.
-
You’re right…not sure it would’ve made a difference. Olave has been killing us all game.
