  1. Exactly. I’m not sure what Rhule and MacAdoo were thinking featuring Thomas in that role. More square peg round hole ideology I guess.
  2. I agree with you . Tremble would be a better fit in the TE/HB role. Ricci is a good receiver but is not really suited as a HB. Thomas is a decent blocker and receiver but limited. Sullivan can catch but is an enigma. I hope we can upgrade this group next offseason.
  3. I’d trade Robbie for a 5th and 7th or a 6th and Amarie Rogers. Former Clemson Tiger that would give us value as WR/PR.
  4. We have to agree to disagree. There’s a bigger picture here that you’re apparently not seeing. I won’t lose any sleep if we made a clean sweep here. While Fitt is not totally blameless, this roster mostly has Rhule’s fingerprints all over it. He was given final say of personnel BEFORE Fitt got here and it remained such until he was canned. I’d be curios to see the direction of this team without the influence and control of the previous HC.
  5. This I think we’re just now beginning to understand how dysfunctional things were under Rhule’s influence.
  6. Yup. Some of these guys want to “throw the baby out with the bathwater”. Fitt has done a good overall job and the scouting department was recently revamped. I think these guys deserve a chance to right the ship now that Rhule is gone.
  7. With Rhule having final say on all personnel decisions, I think it’s fair to say Fitt was in a tough spot when it came to trading assets for players Rhule wanted e.g. Darnold, Mayfield and CJ Henderson. It’s been suggested that Carlos Dunlap wanted to come here if not for Rhule’s refusal to guarantee him a starting role. This past offseason appeared to reveal a slight shift in the caliber of players we acquired. I would personally like to see how Fitt and the rest of the FO will function without Rhule’s influence.
  8. I agree with you on playing closer to the LOS as opposed to playing more in space, which was never his strength. Playing LB full time would not be a good long-term career move for him IMO. And unnecessary with the depth we currently have there.
  9. Good question - Evan Cooper is still DB coach. Cedric Whitaker is also listed as ST assistant per Panthers.com.
  10. If I understand it correctly, we let DC Snow walk and he’ll be replaced by Al Holcomb. Ed Foley was assistant ST coach but I’m not sure he’d be hard to replace if at all. Tabor has done a great job - this is the best ST has been in awhile.
  11. Chinn is a bonafide SS. That’s his natural position and playing closer to the LOS is his strength. It was rumored that Wilks and Snow were at odds over this. Can’t wait if he will use him in that capacity now that he’s the main man. I could see Chinn being effective as a hybrid LB/SS role in certain packages but he’d be miscast in a full-time LB role. And we don’t need him there with the depth we currently have.
  12. I think we keep the rest of the staff intact for continuity sake. Anything beyond this season is anyone’s guess.
  13. Which is another reason I think Fitterer stays. He never got the chance to choose his HC. Rhule was Marty’s choice after he gorged himself on the meatballs.
  14. It would be a huge surprise if Fitt was let go. Rhule had the final say of personnel decisions. It would be nice to let Fitt have a hand in picking the next coach as most GMs do.
  15. Definitely rooting for Wilks but not expecting him to be the long-term answer. We need a fresh start badly.
  16. Godspeed Matt Rhule. Not a bad golden parachute!
  17. I think Rhule may take the Arizona State job. IIRC he and/or Snow have history there or at least with the PAC-10.
  18. Tabor. Did a good job as interim for the Bears a few years back and is a leader of men. I don’t think Wilks wants that responsibility again. No facts, just a feeling I have based on how the last gig went down.
  19. Wearing down apparently. Was inconsistent for most of the day though the D has played well overall.
  20. And CJ Henderson victimized yet again. Jaycee Horn with a hip injury. Our secondary increasingly becoming a MASH unit.
  21. Did you guys see that? 1-24. The Panthers have the longest losing streak going back 30 seasons when allowing 17 or more points. Unbelievable!!!
  22. An actual decent return. ST bringing it today. And we finally seem to have KR figured out.
  23. We’ll it’s a wrap guys. The long season continues….
