Sorry didn’t see your earlier post. Agree Jaycee reminds me a lot of Chris Gamble but I think the former is a little further along at this point in his young career than the latter.

This is practically Horn’s rookie season after last year’s injury robbed him of his 1st season. The best is yet to come.

Official Panthers at Seahawks GameDay Thread

Glad we got points but missed a golden opportunity on this drive -
We’ll so much for a potential upset by the Texans

I agree with the earlier post that we need to extend Bozeman asap. If by some chance we lose him e.g. he signs elsewhere as a FA, then he at least deserves a look. But he wouldn’t be my 1st or 2nd option.

Matt Rhule: “I wish I never took the job”
Prowler2k18 replied to CashNewton22's topic in Carolina Panthers
Note to Tepper: Never let the outgoing GM make the coaching hire for the future. Hopefully Fitterer stays around but if not….DON’T DO IT!!! -
Good points. Don’t get me wrong - with the exception of the Bengals’ beat down, this team has really turned it around especially defensively. I wouldn’t be too upset if Wilks takes over permanently but the offensive focus needs to be scoring points and not just field position and ball control.
-
This would make sense. The resignation of Dave Shaw from Stanford is also interesting. Would he be worth considering by Wilks since he has NFL experience on offense and a native to boot?
-
Please….no more retreads. Agree on the strong D and running game.
-
He’s right - too early and inappropriate for him to say either way. We’re still too inconsistent on offense and we’ve primarily dominated against weaker opponents e.g. Atlanta and Denver. I like Wilks a lot but he’s still too conservative (though that fake punt was a gutsy call). The team’s performance down the stretch will certainly be telling.

Sources: Nebraska working to hire Matt Rhule as coach

Nebraska Cornhuskers hire former Panthers coach Rhule https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article269236632.html Happy for Rhule and his family. Seemed like a decent fellow but just didn’t work here. Wish him nothing but the best! -

Dan Graziano: Panthers interested in Frank Reich
Prowler2k18 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I suspect Tepper and co are going to cast a wide net and the interview process will be quite lengthy. I’m hoping they’re using this time to narrow the field of candidates with Reich being among the those on a short list. -
My only concern with keeping Wilks as HC…
Prowler2k18 replied to Cary Kollins's topic in Carolina Panthers
This defensive-minded coaches tend to lean more toward a conservative approach to offense. I think most Panthers’ fans are ready for a change. -
Maybe Teddy Bridgewater wasn’t that bad….
Prowler2k18 replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Teddy was who he was. Should’ve been a “bridge” to our eventual franchise QB but unfortunately Tepper or Rhule was determined to get rid of him after one season. Instead we ended up on the hook for like $10 million of his contract just to trade him and we ended up on the QB carousel from hell- 66 replies

Quote ‘DJ needs to catch the balls when thrown to him’
Prowler2k18 replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
You hit the nail on the head. I seriously question the logic of our FO sometimes. Same with Burns, although he’s more consistent as an impact player. -
I mean, he’s definitely not wrong
-
Not sure I see it with the offense we saw today.

The LA Rams are 3-7…. We had their second round pick this year
Prowler2k18 replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I take issue with designating any player on a losing team as a cornerstone. With the exception of players on rookie contracts and FA e.g. Bozeman that are performing well, everyone else is fair game. We’ve always seemed to be gun shy when it comes to rebuilding. -

Agree the QB situation certainly doesn’t help. This is why IMO you make that trade. GB needs WR help and we could’ve capitalized on that. And I think he could’ve used a change of scenery but it’s all water under the bridge at this point. -

This anyone see DJ Moore today? -
Helluva defensive performance for most of the game but I still believe we need new blood and a new direction. Offensive play calling is ultra conservative and scares no one. I’d be fine retaining Wilks (DC maybe or DB coach) along with Campen and Tabor but we’re only going so far with him at the helm.

We became way too dependent on CMC as the focal point of our offense. Same thing we did with Cam. As much as I hated to lose him, I’m happy he was traded before we ruined him permanently as we did Cam. It was a win-win for both sides.
