  1. Not really. Jackson’s a good player but injuries are starting to factor into his availability the last few years. I think a younger QB with better accuracy is what will work better for Reich’s system but that’s JMO.
  2. Brown. Based on what I’ve read about him and his knowledge of McVay’s system, I think he would be a great fit for what we’re trying to do. JMO
  3. Personally I wouldn’t. If we miss out on a first-round QB, I’d be fine taking him @ 9. He’s one of the best players in this draft and we need a dynamic runner to replace CMC. The Huddle tribe makes some great arguments though. As our roster stands now, a talent like Robinson would be a luxury for us not a need. And we have plenty of needs.
  4. Appears TB is the top choice if we can get him. Cooter may be a fallback option. Beyond that, we certainly have enough offensive experience on staff if we can’t land either of these guys. And Parks Frazier, who was just hired, could be a play caller in waiting.
  5. I NEVER bought into the race angle. And I’m African-American. One only has to look at the diversity within the Panthers’ organization to see that was pure BS. It was known before the search got underway that Tepper was looking for an offensive minded HC. Out of respect for Wilks, he was given a shot but he didn’t do enough and frankly, hiring him would’ve meant settling for the status quo. Had nothing to do with race, although I understand the optics. It was time for a change. And Tepper could see the League is trending toward more dynamic offense. 7 of the 8 teams that made the playoffs (including the two that represented in the SB) we’re headed by coaches with strong offensive backgrounds. I’m excited to see the team live supported since it’s inception finally getting on board.
  6. Yeah that aged well. As many of us know, you just have to give it time for things to come together.
  7. With this coaching staff, we’ll have options and a great contingency plan in place. In the event we don’t get a rookie QB in the draft, we could sign a veteran to a modest contract as a placeholder until we do. With the staff we have now, we’ve ensured of the resources and experience to help just about any QB be successful.
  8. Couldn’t agree more. The difference here may be a more collaborative approach to running the offense. Not micromanaged but more input from a staff that’s more experienced until Brown, Cooter or whoever gets familiar with the type system Reich wants to install. JMO
  9. Holding out hope we snag Thomas Brown, who’s scheduled for interview on Thursday. I figure with the Caldwell hire, it will come down to him or JB Cooter. He would be a great mentor for either. I’m also expecting Parks Frazier to be added to the offensive staff at some point.
  10. Intrigued by Thomas Brown. Sounds like the type of innovative play caller and leader we need. I hope we don’t let this guy leave without a contract.
  11. The Colts did us a solid by blocking access to Bradley. I think we came out ahead on that one.
  12. Wait…when did we hire Capers? Awesome if we did and Dom has come full circle
  13. Would be a nice addition but may be impossible to beat out others with longer history with Reich, as you said. And chances are he’s already settled on his OC.
  14. If he feels that way about Moore’s playcalling, I’m sure he’ll “love” B Scottenheimer. I don’t remember his playcalling being any less uninspiring.
  15. Sadly the dysfunction will continue until MJ sells the team. It’s beyond clear after all this time he doesn’t have a clue how to build a contender.
  16. A couple of other names I’ve heard floated around with ties to Reich are Parks Frazier (offensive assistant with the Colts and married to former Colts and Panthers reporter Caroline Cann; Reich officiated their nuptials) and Jason Michael (current TE coach with the Eagles). Both have history with Reich at previous stops. Michael Groh (current WR coach and former Colts assistant) has also been mentioned as a potential addition to Reich’s staff.
  17. Still can’t believe we lost to a Trubisky-led Steelers at home. But I digress - happier times ahead!
  18. So true. I’m really excited that we got this guy.
  19. I like him even more now. Wilson is a disingenuous prick.
  20. Reggie Wayne would be a great addition to the offensive staff if true. We could use an upgrade here as our WR coaching has been a bit underwhelming for some time now. We’ll see if there’s any interest there.
  21. This ^^^ it would be asking Wilks to accept a demotion of sorts. I also get the feeling that Tepper wants to take things in a different direction - defense included. And while the optics may be a little fishy from a legal standpoint, based on the inconsistencies we’ve seen - and the possibilities with the young core players - you can’t really blame him.
  22. This right here….never understood this either. Huge misstep by Rhule. I’m still convinced Christensen could’ve been at least a serviceable tackle if given the chance but after a bout of foot-in-mouth disease Rhule was determined make this work.
  23. This 1000%. Ditto on the TB game for a shot at the division and playoffs. I like Wilks but his coaching didn’t rise to the occasion during for these critical games, which likely weighed heavily into their decision to go with Reich.
  24. A great take by Smitty on why Reich was chosen over Wilks.
