  1. Give Tepper credit for encouraging their retention by the new staff. Both are outstanding coaches.
  2. Yeah but you can’t really blame him. McDaniels is a douche to play for it seems.
  3. Looking forward to his contribution to the defense. One question - why is he missing from the roster on the Panthers’ website?
  4. Exactly. If we had stayed the course and stuck with Wilks, I doubt we’d move up to get a QB and even if we did, it’s unlikely we’d have confidence in the staff to develop him successfully as we have now.
  5. You can tell by how emotional he got that he really took this loss hard. He put the blame on himself and wouldn’t throw his teammates under the bus, which shows real leadership. For guys who are competing at the highest level, these types of interviews can be really tough to get through.
  6. Keep an eye on Derek Wright. He came to us an UDFA under the previous regime and looked good during his limited playing time last preseason (against the Commandos). Good route running and catches the ball well. Reminds me a Proehl a little. Will make nice strides in this offense.
  7. True but remember the TE was rarely used much in the passing game during the previous regime. More like an extra OL. Reich is already known for using the TE more prominently in the his offensive schemes.
  8. I can see Tremble playing a HB role, sort of a hybrid FB/TE Jack of all Trades blocking and contributing in the passing game. Ricci is a very good receiving TE but he’s not a blocker.
  9. At this point in his career, signing with a playoff/SB contender like KC or Philly or the other teams mentioned makes sense.
  10. I understand how you feel. And I’m sure you can agree when considering the context - the OL was a mess. Too bad Rhule was too in over his head to fix it or anything else. And listening to this new regime as they lay out their plans is music to my ears.
  11. Amen. So sick and tired of JV/JR College/DIV III level playcalling on offense we’ve had to stomach the past few years.
  12. You can see the level and intensity of training and focus on agility is a total change from what we’ve seen in the past. Really excited for this upcoming season.
  13. Same here. And I’m willing to give YGM a chance with this new regime. DL coach Walsh may be able to help him reach his potential if given a chance.
  14. Of the remaining FA EDGE/DE/OLB players, Leonard Floyd is the perfect fit for what we needed. However, it depends on his asking price and if he’s desires to be part of a team that’s resetting with a rookie QB, new staff and schemes vs a true contender. Yannick is not the edge setter DC EJ needs in our 3-4 scheme and neither is the overrated, injury-prone and potentially overpriced Clowney.
  15. This with an experienced and renowned DL coach like Todd Walsh, Brown is going to be a force to be reckoned with.
  16. This Tepper’s mistake here was being too aggressive. Taking on such a big project with as a new owner with a subpar field product and shaky at best partnership was a recipe for disaster, which is exactly what it became.
  17. Nice article…thanks Scot! This to me is the difference between Tepper and previous ownership. Glad to see new ownership’s willingness to take accountability and learn from their mistakes. As fans, we need to patient and give Tepper and co the chance to chart the right course for the organization’s future success.
  18. I’d like to think Shenault is our Deebo Samuel. Sort of like a Swiss Army knife in our offense. He’s a good YAC and physically able to line up in the backfield but limited in route running.
  19. Wouldn’t surprise me if it’s the latter, at least initially. We may decide to rework Morton’s deal at the end of his contract depending on injury history and performance. He’s been the only consistent OL until last year and will still be in his prime.
  20. Can’t imagine what the family is going through. RIP Arrayah and prayers up for the Barrett family.
  21. I’m also curious to see if Deonte Brown had a further here. He had a decent college career and actually played okay his rookie year. I really think Rhule’s micromanaging adversely affected the development of some of these young OL, which is sad considering that was supposed to be his area of expertise. Very excited for tots direction if this team under Reich and this staff.
  22. Absolutely not! Mays is a baller - we’re fortunate to get two potential starting calibers G the past two drafts. The future of the OL is bright!
  23. JMO but BC is better suited at T than at G. He did an adequate job at LG but I think his playing there was more about Rhule saving face after the ridiculous “arms length” discussions. I’m not saying Zavala or anyone else should be immediately inserted at LG but it’s all about putting players in the best position to help the team as opposed to the “square peg, round hole” way we typically do things here.
