Who Wears What Number? (Future/change of pace thread)
Prowler2k18 replied to Panthercougar68's topic in Carolina Panthers
Dalton probably claims #14. He’s worn that number his entire career. I’d hope Shaq and Stroud could work something out for #7. Looks like a natural for him. Same with #9 and Young. I’m sure that would be somewhat easier acquisition from Corral with #2 now available. -
I’d take Campbell or Drew Sanders in a trade down from 39 if a an Edge or WR we like is not there.
-
They could lose the stripes on the sleeves otherwise I like the concept. And if we could de-emphasize the white outline to make the logo blend more seamlessly that would be cool also.
-
I agree but not so much because of drafting Young (I believe he will be a really good player) but passing on Stroud. We’ve never had the kind of QB with his level of accuracy and working from the pocket as he does. His processing may not be on the level of Young, but that will certainly come with coaching and playing experience. He has the tools, leadership and attitude to become a great player for years to come.
-
After watching these videos I can’t see any chance of us passing on Stroud. The touch on his throws and accuracy are unlike anything we’ve ever had @ QB. He has weaknesses, as do all young players, but we have the staff now to develop him the right way and help him achieve greatness. Can’t wait for the draft get here.

Would rather sign Leonard Floyd. History with Ejiro and new defensive scheme, more productive and less of a character risk.
-
Have to remember Eric Bienemy is the new OC and with him comes a new offensive philosophy, or it should. Add that to the potential price tag and you can see why.

Not trying to downplay Cam at all. I was mainly referring to their similar athletic traits. Point being Richardson has the raw materials to be as good as Cam but too much of a gamble to take #1.
-
I agree. Richardson to me is Cam 2.0. Athletically superior to the other QBs in this draft but a project. The difference with Cam was he not was only similarly gifted physically but the best QB in 2011 draft. This time, there are a few NFL ready QBs whose skill set are ahead of Richardson at this point. Wouldn’t have been upset at all if we considered him at #9. At the top position we gotta go with Stroud or Young.

Watch Kyle Shanahan turn Darnold into a Pro Bowler
Prowler2k18 replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wouldn’t surprise me at all. Kid deserves an ideal situation for all he’s been through. Hoping nothing but the best for him, and happy we’ve both moved on.- 56 replies

The Raiders game his rookie year was when I became a fan. He got pissed for being erroneously called for an illegal hit. He absolutely took over that game. He was laying out dudes left and right. To watch him dissect plays and chase down ball carriers was a delight. Broke my heart when he had to hang it up.

Had to be with Rhule having the final say on roster decisions. I’m sure we’ll never know much tension and frustration there was having to acquiesce to Rhule’s ineptness. Glad those days are over.

I’d like to see us make an offer to Leonard Floyd. Good compliment to Burns and added depth on the edge. Plus a background in Evero’s defense.

Unfinished Business (Second most cap room in NFL at $30m)

If we could sign Chark AND Floyd… -
Baker Street…now there’s a classic. And the sax play is incomparable!
-
So looking forward to the Panthers consistently playing like a true professional football team on both sides of the ball. No more of this feed-the-stud, run-run-pass approach on offense and hope to God no more bend-don’t- break, 10 yard cushion while rushing 3 or 4 on defense. It’s a new day at last!
-
Thielen….nothing more than Thielen
-
I’m sure I’m in the minority but Hopkins scares me more than Chark due to age and injury history alone. I’m not sure he would want to come here at this stage of his career and a rookie QB but that’s just my speculation.
-
If we’re going for 2 WRs, I’d rather we go with Hardman and Thielen. Chark’s injury history worries me.

MJ in talks to sell majority stake of Hornets
Prowler2k18 replied to carpanfan96's topic in Charlotte Hornets
I’m hoping another suitor or two will emerge. A Hawks minority owner and Plotkin doesn’t inspire much excitement from me. -
Seems to be defining his role in Reich’s offense which is primarily what he does best - blocking. Great move to adjust his salary accordingly.
-
Damn. I was hoping we’d make a run at him as a replacement for Moore.
