Had a similar feeling going into Bengals game. I thought the Panthers were finally ready to put up a statement game. And they did, just not the statement we wanted. Of course, the steelers aren't the bengals. But the one thing Wilks has us doing is beating the teams we are supposed to beat. So until proved otherwise I am on board with a 3-1 record or better and home playoff game. Just not sold we can beat a playoff team.

That swing right before half where the hags dropped a sure interception and then handed the niners a gift touchdown really spelled the game. Other than that I kept waiting for the niners to pull away and they never did (could). Niners are a good team for sure but no reason for any playoff team to fear lining up against them. Including us.

Guys talking about bringing him back as DC next year? Ain’t gonna happen. At this point NOT bringing him back is going to cripple the locker room. I get the guys saying wait it out because if we go 1-3 or miss playoffs maybe Tepper let’s him go. But the odds are in Wilks favor right now and I am rooting for him!

I don't think enough people are talking about what a colossal flop the Raiders pulled off. I have to admit I thought it was another example of how rigged the NFL has become but nobody is that good at being bad. Josh McDaniels gets a lot of the blame, of course. But what was their DC doing calling man defense on that TD play? Did you see the number of stupid penalties called on the Raiders? For coaching to work the players have to buy in and they have not done it with McDaniels. They have done it with Wilkes. "The answer is on the roster". Bring in a OC like Reich and roll with it. If you don't go into next season with Wilkes it is a total tear down or nothing. No way should we enter next season with Wilkes being demoted to DC. He deserves better and the chemistry with any new HC (and current players) would be toxic.

And a crap offensive line. Really impressive by Baker and honestly happy for him. This game just made him millions of $. But I saw a lot tonight of what got him waived here also so easy to be happy for him

exactly. wasted energy on bad energy. I really don't keep track on who was right or wrong going back months or even years ago on an obscure fan message board. That is why I am so comfortable with my annual undefeated predictions! Also why I am genuinely disappointed every time I check my lottery ticket numbers.

For a while there it seemed we played Seattle every year. And while Wilson was lucky he was also damn good. In our 2018 game at home he answered every scoring drive we put up and you just had the feeling he was going to make every big play happen, and he did. Then he totally spanked us in 2019 at home. I don't like him and never did but piling on now seems cheap. He's a fake but he's a consistent fake. But his play on the field has just recently dropped and he could easily bounce back. Even yesterday his receivers and pass protection sucked as much or worse than he did. Lots of drops and questionable routes to go with some turnstile blocking.

I concede your point re: perspective and I'm not saving up playoff ticket money....but I also think we need to give our team credit when they earn it on the field. Yes the bronco's were panther-level terrible on offense but we won this game because our own offense finally showed a blip on their ekg and it was about damn time. The broncos are far from a terrible defense. They were ranked 6th going into the game and 8th flying home. Our Panthers D is 16th on the same chart . I'm staying in Victory Monday mode all day!
