The psych ward called, Frank, they said your 30 minutes of computer time is up. Time to go project your mental illness on your nurse instead of people online.

Where our receivers rank, according to PFF

This might sound crazy but I’d give every single one of Mingo’s snaps to TMJ. The way Mingo jogs through his routes makes me miss Terrace which is really saying something. Or like you said, give Marsette a chance. I mean what is there to lose? We pulled a guy up off the practice squad and he played harder than anyone not named Thielen. -
I’m normally pretty skeptical of PFF but I think they pretty much nailed this one!

OL PFFs grades are out. *Warning for the weak stomach*

Add onto this that all of this pressure has a compounding effect on the quarterback. When you’re pressured as much as Bryce is, you think you’re being pressured every play. You never trust your blocking. You expect the hit coming every play, even when you’re sitting in a clean pocket. I think that’s why we’ve seen his performance get worse over the last few weeks. He is just scared back there and I don’t blame him. It’s as bad an offensive line as I’ve seen. -

I’m the OP and I’ve changed my stance on it and agree with you. There wasn’t enough velocity on the throw. It’s definitely on Bryce as well as Mingo. If he lacks the arm to put the velocity he should’ve led him more. But as a receiver it’s so easy to tell when a pass is underthrown. And it’s so easy to know it’s going to be huge trouble if you are running a shallow cross/drag and you have a defender on your hip. You’ve got to either hold your route and box out a little or at least slow down and get a hand on the ball. The last thing you can do is back up and basically swing the gate open for the defender and say here, take it. It’s hard for me to not place the blame more on Mingo knowing he could have prevented it with a very simple and routine effort.
-
Alright big guy I’m done explaining the nuance of route running to you. The crossing route probably hadn’t been invented when (if?) you played football. So I’ll give you a break. There are basics of running the route that prevent the disaster we saw today.
-
It would require a lot more effort to get the ball and is certainly not going to be a touchdown going the other way, which is my main point here.
-
I just wanted to talk about Mingo sucking. I can’t stand to watch him run bad routes. Did the throw have great velocity? Hell no. My point is with average receiver play that is an incompletion or a 5 yard gain. With Mingo it is literally a touchdown for the other team. Even if the ball was under thrown, you can not just let the door wide open for the defender. That’s what drifting upfield (2) entire yards is doing. Then stand there and watch and he takes it back. It’s elementary stuff. The post isn’t about Bryce it’s about Mingo turning an ordinary play into 7 points for the Dallas cowboys.

So is yours Panther Fan 69. Cry

If Mingo holds his route, his body is a shield between the defender and the ball. Similar to stacking a db when going vertical. As soon as he drifts upfield the db can now play the ball however he wants.
-
Let me clear this up for you. Bryce played terrible. Bryce sucks. Bryce might suck really bad. But this specific play was an instance of Jonathan Mingo sucking.
-
The thing is he did throw it over top of Mingo. That’s why Mingo drifted upfield.
-
A better route and there is no pick. It’s a lot easier to run in a straight line than throw a perfect pass.
-
You had to go edit the post bc you didn’t think to talk about football first. Mingo drifted 2 entire yards upfield. I am not saying it was a great throw. I am not saying it was the right decision. And you are right, it probably would have been a short gain or an incompletion. But that should never have ended up as a pick 6. We can talk about players other than Bryce sucking. With average receiver play that was a null play. With Mingo it is a touchdown for the other team.
-
Start talking football brainiac. Use evidence to support your stance.
-
Explain that then? Without saying “other receivers were open.” Mingo was open. Mingo drifted upfield and literally gift wrapped him a touchdown. I put pictures for god sakes. Support your argument.
-
Re read the post. Then read it again. It was not the right decision. But no way that pass should have been a pick 6. That is on Mingo.
-
Where did I say it was the right decision? I literally said it wasnt. I said the pick 6 is on Mingo.
-
Can Mingo not also suck?
-
Call it coping, whatever y’all want, but this is terrible receiver play. Was the throw the right decision? Probably not. But it was a good throw. You absolutely, positively CAN NOT drift upfield on a shallow crosser. It is a cardinal sin. Take a look at where Mingo is running while Bryce is throwing. Straight down the 25. Now note how he has drifted upfield to try to catch a ball at his chest that would’ve been at his outstretched arms, with his body between the defender in the ball. He has now made it a longer throw, giving the defender more time to get to the ball, and opened the door wide open for him to undercut the ball. Oh, and then he stands there and watches while the guy takes it for 6.

You quote the bdawg if you want to talk to him, coward. That guy is entitled to his opinion as I am entitled to tell him what I think about his opinion. Anyways, the only post you have ever shat on is literally a word for word quote from an Adam Sandler movie. So great choice, I guess
