  1. Panthers saying still guys remaining with a 2nd/3rd round grade on their board. A year ago with the former guy, I would have rolled my eyes. Today, I am excited.
  2. Carolina just fleeced Texans. A 2022 pick is huge imo.
  3. Thread moving so fast, dunno if its been posted.
  4. That really wouldn't work in practice though. People come up with rumors to push all the time without sources. And then you'd also be telling your hand. "What players are the Panthers *not* rumored to be interested in?" And that would also be telling.
  5. Farley was often rated as CB1, in a draft missing key defensive standouts. So. Yeah.
  6. Mac Jones Cons Stationary QB in a Mobile QB world Weaker Arm Talent pretty difficult to evaluate due to high reliance on RP0s, Screens, Play Action (58% of total plays, 3rd in NCAAF) Threw to the 2nd most open receivers while having a below average pressure rate. Pros High On Target rate Great Time to Throw rate If you need a guy that can quickly throw the ball to the center of the field. Mac Jones is your guy. May struggle throwing it deep, or to the wide end of the field. May need time adjusting throwing to receivers in coverage. But generally avoids mistakes, and gets the ball out quickly.
  7. I guess I will just agree to disagree. I wasn't seeing any worthwhile hype around him being a top tier pick until the 49ers pushed up. There was legit talk of him still falling to round 2. I believe he will be a hilarious reach that will be propped up by the rest of the 9ers team carrying the load, that if the 9ers didn't trade up to (assumingly) draft him..would have at best gone to another QB desperate team reaching and fizzle out there (like I expect most 1st round QBs to eventually due, historically speaking). I guess I am just not impressed by him.
  8. I strongly believe the most overhyped person atm is Mac Jones. I don't trust Shanahan's history in picking QBs. If 49ers hadn't traded up, would Mac Jones even be a top 10 prospect?
  9. Mac Jones going as QB3 would make me question so many things about life. I just don't see a world where he is above QB5. I wouldn't complain. It means a better nonQB prospect gets pushed down to Carolina. But it will basically prove nearly every football pundit wrong if Mac goes 3. I wouldn't have minded Carolina getting Mac Jones. In the 2nd round.
  10. The only other person that said anything about not understanding my opinion used an image from a google search..that linked to an article that disagreed with his own opinion. I am not sure you are putting yourself in high company. People are literally asking for a game to be thrown, citing the 2019 dolphins. Its hilariously stupid.
  11. Awesome. So Miami failed at tanking. They failed so badly at tanking they are considered doing great at what they did do. You aren't really helping the argument that the Panthers should have tanked.
  12. You must lack basic reading comprehension, because that has nothing to do with the conversation you are replying to in context. The people I am responding to are talking specifically about the Panthers throwing a single football game. The Dolphins did win 5 games...not 2. So I don't know what you are talking about in your entire paragraph. I am running out of ways to nicely call people silly that aren't even attempting to put enough critical thinking into these sorta statements that would help you pass middle school.
  13. Regardless of what happens... Car vs Tex is gonna be a fun week.
  14. ...The picture you posted was literally a link to the article. I found the article by doing the same exact search you did and clicking on the picture you referenced/posted. You can't be this silly. When you talk about the recent Miami Dolphins tanking..you are talking about 2019. At this point I have no confidence you have any clue as to what you are talking about. They did not intentionally lose their games and not try to win. You don't end the last 9 games of the season (more than half) with a winning record if you are intentionally trying to lose. You can't be this stupid. I refuse to believe it. This is one of the reasons I've been avoiding the huddle lately.
  15. ...you. You can't be serious. Ok. You win. I am not on enough drugs for this conversation to make sense. You are using a huge double standard when you talk about "tanking". And your rebuttal to the dolphins tanking in 2019..is a picture from a google search? Did you even see what the picture was for? https://time.com/5735424/sports-teams-tanking/ Its an article from the early 2019 season before the Dolphins turned it around. Its also an article about how tanking does not work.
  16. Sure it did. You said every decision Tepper made blew up in his face. One of his decisions was to pursue Watson, and (partly) because of this you have no faith in him. The only way you can hold Tepper accountable for the decision to pursue Watson is if he had beforehand knowledge of all these civil cases popping up out of the blue.
  17. Doesn't negate what? That they weren't tanking? How can you claim they were tanking when they were actively trying to win games..and did? They...won...games. Panthers didn't tank because they won *1* game. Fins went 5-4 to end the season, and you are saying they tanked. Are you listening to yourself? They had the same exact record as the Panthers. But you are telling me they were actively trying to lose. I didn't say he was fired for tanking, but it was obviously the last straw. My point is the 2 times last year a coach actively tanked a game..they were also fired. I sound dumb? You are saying that a team with the *same record as Carolina* was actively tanking while ending the season on a 5-4 run. What the hell do you consider tanking? Obviously you can some how tank while winning games? I swear. You can't honestly believe the words you are saying.
  18. So in your opinion, Tepper knew about Watson's alleged sexual assault history months before it hit the media?
  19. Miami started the season 0-7. You are right. They ended the season 5-4. Where do you see them tanking? I swear. At least pretend to glance at football records or something. Twice last season this happened for two different teams. Where a team tanked a single game. The people responsible never coached another game. Jets DC after looking like he intentionally went to lose the game vs Raiders at the last second. Eagles HC.
  20. What happened to their coach? And no, it has not "turned out well for them". Tanking in the NFL does not work. Everyone is going full /swoon over Miami's brilliant strategy. Guess what. They never tanked. Once. Ever. Not enough to make us lose. Haskins is terrible. This is also why you are regulated to whining on forums, and not a GM.
  21. What exactly was the alternative? I keep hearing people bitch about this game non stop. I swear. Are you saying that Rhule should have sat the entire 1st string defense? Not played a single starter? Thats the only way Carolina was going to lose that game. Seriously.
  22. I am genuinely curious what people think we should have done this off season. Obviously Plan A was Watson, and yeah. We see what happened there completely out of the blue. I hear the Huddle talk about how we have a million holes. How we absolutely need a franchise QB right now. But we better absolutely not trade acceptable value for a franchise QB. That ruins our future. And then I see our limited cap space. Apparently we shoulda convinced the Lions to part with Stafford for a 7th, grab Watson for a 6th..because he is better after all. Maybe sign Thuney, Linsley, Zeitler or something for Vet mins. Oh and cut Bridgewater and get Bridgewater to void his own contract so we didn't have any deadcap.
