A QB as a running threat absolutely stresses defenses more than non-running QBs, but they clearly aren't the only winning QBs in the NFL. I'd rather have the complete package...who wouldn't? But that's not to say that a dynasty can't be built with a less mobile QB. I don't think any team is going to the SB without a pretty damn good OL anyway. Mind you, I'm not advocating we go with Jones at 8...personally, I'd trade back and pick up more picks and maybe pick him or Lance up later. I could see one or both of them dropping down the board.

He's Eli Manning 2.0. In past times, he'd be rated the #1 or #2 QB. Can he play QB in the NFL now? I think so. Will he be a star? Was Eli? He won 2 SBs with a stout defense.

That may be true. Biggest difference is Minshew would cost us draft capital, and probably more than he's worth.

Every QB does better with a good OL. No, the system built for a QB to do a few quick reads and either throw it to the outlet in the flat or throw it away. Saying Jones can't do well in our system is silly. It was literally built for a non-mobile QB. A QB's mobility just adds a bonus weapon.

Meh, let's be realistic. Yes, we could get some really good players for one year. Then what? I'd rather save our money and focus on the draft, maybe fill a couple of OL or DL holes with young promising players we can sign to 2 or 3 year contracts.

I didn't watch any of Kellen Mond during the season. I watched him against a mediocre UNC defense and again in the Senior Bowl and I saw nothing that makes me think he'll be in the NFL in 5 years, much less a starter.

That's not a bad thing. But I disagree. If we can win 6 with Teddy and no CMC, we can do at least that well with PJ, CMC, a better Oline and better defense. Hell, the defense alone will win us a handful of games, provided we upgrade right.
