Then there are those of us who genuinely like the guy, think he's a good player, and want him around for a fair price. I'll be happy as a clam if that happens. But I also know how this stuff works and like others have said, by passing on the massive bounty the Rams offered for him, we painted ourselves in a corner with his agent. Oh well. Seems no matter who's in charge, we seem to overpay for certain players.

Nah. It's not necessarily best team in the NFL. It's a team who outperforms anyone's expectations and has almost no injuries, while playing one of the easiest schedules in the league.

You do understand what a "best case scenario" means, right?

That guy concerns me less than that QB group. -

Can't say this QB group concerns me in the least. -
Best - 14-3 Worst - 6-11 Likely - 11-6, division winner, 2nd round loss in playoffs to Eagles or 49ers.

Rhule: Balogna with Hellman's mayo Reich: Palmetto Cheese with Duke's. Future Reich: Chateau Briand with Cheerwine.

Bryce Young gets majority of first-team reps in first OTA practice

Save this pic. You'll need it for when he's all-pro. -
New staff + rookie QB = rough waters for a while. I don't think we'll lose the first 6, but it wouldn't shock me. The OL will be the most stable and effective group to begin the season and that means our running game should thrive. Everything else is kinda up in the air and while it looks good on paper, we'll just have to wait and see if our hope in this staff is justified.

Yeah, I read that as "Rather than focusing so much on where and how this guy fits our scheme, we're gonna get him on the field however we can because the guy makes plays."
-
He's gonna be wrong about Young and Howell.

I think most analysts have Thielen starting in the slot and Chark and TMJ on the outside. Until the Panthers release a depth chart, we won't really know, but that seems reasonable. Seems very unlikely that Mingo beats out TMJ, but stranger things have happened.

Considering Rhule was an idjit and Wilkes was run, run, pass-if-you-have-to, and the fact that we had Doornob throwing to TMJ, I think what he did says quite a lot. I'm cautiously optimistic about the whole group, but really excited to see what TMJ does with an actual staff and game plan and NFL QB throwing his way.

Oh, I think most of us are. I'm encouraged by TMJ's output after Rhule got canned and I think Laviska and Mingo can both make bigger impacts than most folks expect them to. I say CAN, btw, because like you, I'm taking a wait and see approach. But I believe this staff can make the most of what we have. We'll see.
