I get that. I hope you're right and we pick him. I just think with the lack of top-flight competition and lack of film this year that a lot of folks here are hoping for Cam 2.0 or Mahomes 2.0. I get it...we all want that to be the case if we pick him. There are others who think Wilson is Russell Wilson 2.0 or Fields is a Cam/Lamar hybrid. A couple think Jones is Brady 2.0. Everybody wants these things to be true because we have at least a chance to have one of these guys. In the end, all we can do is hope our guys are really good at their jobs and pick really good players. They did well last time, so I'm hoping that wasn't a fluke. If they pick Lance and he turns out to be great, I'll be happy. If he is a dud, I'll be disappointed, but I just hope they will figure out why they were wrong about him and not make the same mistake next time. I don't have an attachment to any of the prospects. I have opinions, some will no doubt be wrong and some may be right, but I'm happy to be wrong if it means the Panthers get a franchise QB.

Yeah, he had moments when he looked like his old self. Some quite impressive. But the overall picture is what QBs are judged on. Hell, Teddy had moments last year when he looked like the guy. I love Cam, but for his legacy's sake, I think he should hang 'em up.

He's not wrong. Cam isn't even a shadow of his former self. His shoulder is shot. He's a smart guy who has some business acumen. He'll be fine. But he should sign a one-day contract, retire a Panther, and await his election to the ring of honor.

Martellus Bennett dropping truth bombs
Pup McBarky replied to LinvilleGorge's topic in Carolina Panthers
There are good reasons why parents today don't want their children to play football...the injury risk is one, but the psychological toll, as Bennett points out, may be even greater. If it's used to encourage teamwork, good sportsmanship, et. al., then the coach is doing a good job. If the kids get the message that winning is the only thing and we must win at all costs, then they are gonna be fuged up teens and probably fuged up adults. -
Joshua Dobbs.

No Quinn Meinerz? Fake news. We need the WonderGut.
-
I'm gonna need the name of your employer. I'm pretty sure I could do your job and do it far better if you believe DeShaun Watson's game film is nothing special.
-
You're paid to watch game film, eh?
-
Unfortunately, this is correct. They will want 2 of YGM, Burns, Brown, Chinn. That's it. Take your pick. Me? I tell them no thanks and take my chance in the draft.

We may not be drafting a QB with the 8th pick but maybe later...

Framing QB discussions with Trucks versus Trailers
Pup McBarky replied to trueblade's topic in Carolina Panthers
This has got to be one of the most tortured analogies I've ever read. -
As long as there are spots above us and QB-needy teams, the danger of someone trading up to jump us is very real.

Drew Brees might be available.

Chazz Surratt do anything? Any LB, honestly?

How did the Div. III OLman do? The one everyone was raving about pancaking everyone at practice.

Stafford trade agreement might be in place before the Super Bowl
Pup McBarky replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm fine with this. Trubisky's issue is he played for a college coach who didn't teach poo. Then he played for a pro coach who didn't teach poo. If he's open to learning, our coaches, who Rhule insists on being teachers first, could turn into something. He's got talent, he needs a good teacher. Of course, I'm okay as long as the price is right...i.e. cheap. -
Hypothetically We Land Watson
Pup McBarky replied to TrevorLaurenceTime22's topic in Carolina Panthers
Paradis is currently the only OL with a contract. "Finding" cheap replacements means getting OLmen other teams don't want. You want to put those guys in front of our new QB? You do know the salary cap is getting shrunk, right? -
Hypothetically We Land Watson
Pup McBarky replied to TrevorLaurenceTime22's topic in Carolina Panthers
And an entire OL and quality backups. So yeah. -
Of course there's high interest. Pretty sure there is high interest from every QB-needy team and a few who want to trade their current QB for a future HOFer. But JJ's "whether" is the key. That multiple question is far from settled and tbh, doesn't particularly bode well given that other teams are in much better positions to broker a deal. If fans want to believe Watson loves Carolina so much he'll veto every other team, no logic known to humanity will dissuade them. Personally, I would love to have him here, I just don't see it as a very likely option.

The AP...anal press.
