I know we desperately want to..as do most us fans but we have a ton of teams ahead of us needing a QB and it may not play out that way. I don’t think I would be upset if we used our 6 picks in the first 4 rounds to get WR, TE, LB, DE, DT, and or C/G help (for Corbett injury) to go along with Jimmy. I think we easily won the division with that combo of the rookie QB does not pan out

Thoughts on him being a starter for us if we didn’t draft a QB? No trading draft picks, solid starter, and could use all of our draft picks to really build the team with picks in round one, two in round two, round three, two in round four and round 5. CMC was a huge Jimmy G Stan as well and really praised his work and leadership skills. For the record I want to draft a QB more than anything, but he would not be a bad option being that the cap is going up and we would not have to trade draft capital. ARTICLE: The 49ers don’t know who their starting quarterback will be in 2023, but they know who it won’t be. Coach Kyle Shanahan ruled out Jimmy Garoppolo‘s return. “No, I don’t see any scenario of that,” Shanahan said, via video from the team. Garoppolo is scheduled for free agency in March. The 49ers were close to trading Garoppolo last offseason before the quarterback’s shoulder surgery brought talks to a grinding halt. Garoppolo ended up starting 10 games after Trey Lance was injured but saw his own season ended with a fractured foot in Week 13. Rookie Brock Purdy finished up the year but tore the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his throwing elbow Sunday in the NFC Championship game. If Purdy does not undergo a full reconstruction (Tommy John surgery), then he is expected back in six months. “He’s continuing to go through that process [of second opinions],” 49ers General Manager John Lynch said. “I think the positive bit of news is that it seems to be consistent that the right approach is that one that’s about that six-month one. Now, everybody will also say you never know until you get in there. Every surgeon will tell you that on every surgery. . . . They’re continuing to work through that process, but we seem encouraged by the prognosis.” If the 49ers have Purdy back in six months, along with a healthy Lance, they will not seek a veteran starter. “No, we’re content enough,” Shanahan said. “I know we have two starters on our team right now that I believe we can win with. So when you have that situation, you’re not that eager to go looking around.” https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/02/01/kyle-shanahan-doesnt-see-any-scenario-where-jimmy-garoppolo-returns/

I can’t stand that guy. He robbed us enough. I hope Tepper fights it and gets it continued 7 years minimum. -
Denver will not be good for a loooong time after this Wilson deal.

Im no Trump fan, but this is the perfect response to the news.

Burns will not be traded. He’s a pro bowl DE and only 24 years old. Plus……we have absolutely no talent at DE other than him.

Mahomes is an absolute monster. Thank God Payton did not trade up for him

Could not have said it better. Cam was a true superstar, and he was electric in his prime. He changed the NFL.

The last few years have been some of the most boring football I have had to endure. Wilks brought a spark back to the team, and actually started building a culture back. The team looked like it had life finally. I hate that we couldn’t keep Wilks, but I can’t argue that we made the better hire. Wilks should be coaching on a high level in the NFL, and I have no doubt he will keep performing no matter where he goes.

Rhule says he regrets throwing Cam under the bus
WarPanthers89 replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Nothing to be mad about, it’s just another example of him spewing BS after the fact and thinking he can talk his way out of something that he did intentionally. He lied many times and did the same thing with Teddy -

The man really believes he can talk his way out of anything -
No matter who we hire, we can all appreciate not having this man lead the franchise anymore: Posted by Cat Crave “On his Bussin' with the Boys podcast appearance, former Panthers head coach Matt Rhule regrets throwing Cam Newton under the bus.” https://fb.watch/ihko2L4BJa/?mibextid=cr9u03

New PFT article on what the Saints want for Payton
WarPanthers89 posted a topic in Carolina Panthers
ARTICLE: Recently, former Saints coach Sean Payton said that his old team wants a mid-to-late first-round pick in exchange for the ability to hire him. The Saints would beg to differ with that characterization. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Saints want a first-round pick and more. Which means another pick, since by rule players can’t be part of the transaction between teams for rights to a coach whose contract has not expired. The price will be even higher if Carolina becomes the chosen destination. Payton has interviewed with the Broncos and Texans. He’s due to interview with the Panthers on Monday. The Cardinals had expressed interest; the desire to hire a G.M. possible has derailed that potential destination. The teams that have received permission to talk to Payton are generally aware of the expectations for compensation. And it’s generally believed that, once Payton picks a new team, everyone will be reasonable when it comes to working out a deal for compensation. Payton has made it clear he’ll return to coaching, eventually. We reported last week that it’s a 50/50 proposition as to whether he takes another job this year or next year. If he waits, however, he’ll miss out on a full season of a salary expected to be in the range of $20 million to $25 million. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/01/21/saints-want-more-than-a-first-round-pick-for-sean-payton/ -
Article: The Panthers were planning to interview former Saints head coach Sean Payton for the vacant position in Carolina. For now, that meeting is on hold. Via Joe Person of TheAthletic.com, the interview has been postponed following the death of Charlotte FC soccer player Anton Walkes in a boating accident. Owner David Tepper, his wife Nicole, and other teams officials returned to Charlotte from New York following the incident. Payton has drawn interest from the Panthers, Broncos, Texans, and Cardinals. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/01/19/sean-paytons-panthers-interview-is-on-hold/
