  1. We have been “interested”in about 70 percent of the free agents so far it seems
  2. I don’t want to hear any logic around here. GTFO and never come back to the Huddle.
  3. Dumb move and he didn’t cost much at all.
  4. The contracts are extremely manageable no matter what. If they work out, it’s a very good price, if not, we aren’t killed in cap. People always freak out unless it’s a superstar who signs for league minimum. People also forget we needed starters and backups across the board on the line. Both guys signed can play multiple roles if needed so very good depth at a minimum.
  5. I don’t expect any big splash but I will be curious to see who does dive into the deep end of the pool. Cap space is extremely low this year compared to the past. We have the 11th most even after the Moton Tag.
  6. Technically, free agency begins at 4:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday. As a practical matter, it starts today at noon ET. That’s when the so-called legal tampering process commences. It started several years ago as a vehicle for exchanging offers without striking deals. Common sense quickly prevailed, and the league allowed teams to negotiate with impending free agents and to strike tentative deals. So what now happens is that tentative deals get quickly reached and leaked after noon ET on Monday, primarily since much of the negotiation has happened during the illegal tampering window. Everyone does it, and the league rarely does anything about it. As the deals begin to get reported on Monday and into Tuesday, by Wednesday most of the work already will be done. Last year, for example, 82 of the top 85 PFT free agents had deals in place, or were franchise-tagged, before free agency actually opened. There’s one key caveat to the unofficial free agency period. Either the team or the player can back out before finalizing the deal after Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. ET. It happens rarely, but it’s not unprecedented; Frank Gore once backed out of a deal with the Eagles to sign with the Colts, for example. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/03/14/free-agency-starts-tomorrow-unofficially/
  7. Still makes me mad seeing the Saints getting the two 3rd rounders
  8. This is a refreshing new post that I have not seen before. Great choices!
  9. **Two six round picks (spot 221 and 225)** The NFL announced its 2021 compensatory draft picks, which now include special compensatory picks rewarding teams for developing minority coaches and executives. The selections this year are from the third to sixth rounds. With the CBA limiting the number of compensatory selections to the number of clubs in the league at 32, there were seven teams that qualified for a pick but did not receive it in the Falcons, Bears, Colts, Vikings, Eagles, Steelers, and Buccaneers. But only Indianapolis did not receive a selection at all because its free agent lost was ranked 33rd or lower in the formula used to generate picks. The Cowboys have a league-high four compensatory draft picks in 2021, with one each in the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth round. Dallas lost Byron Jones, Robert Quinn, Randall Cobb, Xavier Su’a-Filo, and Jeff Heath, and Jason Witten last year in free agency. There were five special compensatory selections awarded at the end of the third round — one for the 49ers, one for the Rams, one for the Ravens, and one for the Saints. Those each stem from another team hiring a minority from their organization to be either a head coach or General Manager. The NFL initially announced an incorrect number for San Francisco’s special selections with two this year instead of one. With Robert Saleh becoming the Jets head coach and Martin Mayhew becoming Washington’s G.M., San Francisco will receive a special compensatory selection for each of the next three years. The Falcons and Packers each have three regular compensatory picks. The Panthers, Bears, Chiefs, Rams, Vikings, Patriots, Saints, and Eagles have two. The Ravens, Chargers, Steelers, 49ers, Buccaneers, and Titans have one. The regular third-round picks went to the Patriots (No. 96), Chargers (No. 96), Saints (No. 98), Cowboys (No. 99), Titans (No. 100), and Rams (No. 101). The special compensatory selections went to the 49ers (No. 102), Rams (No. 103), Ravens (No. 104), and Saints (No. 105). The fourth-round selections went to the Cowboys (No. 138), Patriots (No. 139), Steelers (No. 140), Rams (No. 141), Packers (No. 142), Vikings (No. 143), and Chiefs (No. 144). The fifth-round selections went to the Packers (No. 177), Cowboys (No. 178), Falcons (No. 179), 49ers (No. 180), Chiefs (No. 181), Falcons (No. 182), and Ravens (No. 183). And the sixth-round selections went to the Buccaneers (No. 216), Saints (No. 217), Falcons (No. 218), Packers (No. 219), Bears (No. 220), Panthers (No. 221), Vikings (No. 222), Eagles (No. 223 and No. 224), Panthers (No. 225), Cowboys (No. 226), and Bears (No. 227). Since 1994, the Ravens lead the league with 53 compensatory selections of the 876 awarded. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/03/10/cowboys-receive-league-high-four-compensatory-draft-picks-in-2021/
  10. He was in the middle of starting three other threads and had to be quick!
  11. If your QB does not have the ability to lift the players around them to get you to the Super Bowl (if you have the talent on the team), you need to keep searching for one who can. Teddy will never be a QB who does this for our team, no matter the talent around him. We all know what his ceiling is.
  12. The amount Teddy is making is a steal! Teams should definitely go ahead and take advantage and trade for him
  13. Teddy for Ertz and a pack of Almond Joy straight up and it’s a deal
  14. On a side note, Zach Ertz commented which had me smiling thinking about him lined up with cmc in the backfield, Robby, and DJ on the sides. The only issue remaining would be the person throwing the ball
  15. Cmc is taking about his comeback to the game. He’s never been out like last season and loves the game/works harder than almost any player in the league. No hidden messages behind that post....hell he posted himself in a Panthers uniform. It’s not about the money to him, he wants to dominate the league.
  16. Oh I absolutely would. I would bet that if he was on any team in the league. I don’t bet, but that’s one I would go all in on. I’m not a crazy Teddy hater at all either... I’m just a realist
  17. Kuddos to you. I don’t believe anyone on the planet has defended Teddy B as hard as you have on this thread. No matter your feelings about him.....I can promise you Teddy is not a QB that will ever win a super bowl (as a starter).
  18. One of these toughest players, much less Lb’s to ever play the game. I will never forget his return from 3 ACL tears. The guts he showed to play in the super bowl with a broken arm will live in the hearts of panther fans forever.
  19. Matt Ryan compared to the QB’s throwing to DJ is one reason, the other is because Ridley has Jones taking up double coverage.
