  1. I don’t feel like this info is getting the attention it deserves. I am more excited about this than the pre season game tonight.
  2. People forget how good we will be in cap after this year. If you extend him now and structure it right, we will have plenty of cap space for our young stars coming up in the future. I am extremely confident that we have sons one who is great managing the cap now along with a competent GM. We have been scared by Hurndog for too long and I believe it’s going to be refreshing to see what they do with our core in the future
  3. It’s a fantastic idea. You lock him down now, load it heavy this year and next then pay heavy with DJ after his 5th year. You then have a young dynamic WR group that is set for the next 4 years minimum with Marshall and the other rookies.
  4. Agreed. I still get pissed that the team site posted that the depth was 2-5 years ahead of us…… QB aside. What a joke esp after Fitty nailed his first draft with us
  5. “If the joint workouts with the Colts and Ravens proved anything conclusively, it's that those two teams are a year or two or five ahead of the Panthers in terms of roster construction, and it's most evident when the twos and threes are on the field” That statement pisses me off honestly, esp coming from the team site…5 years??? Give me a break.
  6. Interesting notes about Perryman and the depth of the team from the article posted on Panthers.com about what we learned from training camp below. **Its still not a particularly deep team* We mentioned Carter and Thompson earlier. There's not really much of substance behind them at inside linebacker. It might have been Denzel Perryman, but he hasn't made a great first impression this camp. He appears to be lighter than they'd prefer (both Carter and Thompson have mentioned adding weight this offseason), and he's barely practiced after a soft-tissue injury on the first day in pads. The good news is, there's generally more of a supply of veteran inside linebackers than other positions, because it's a spot many teams try to get younger and cheaper at. Bringing in old-head Josh Bynes last week was a step in that direction, but Fitterer specifically mentioned that position as something he'll be looking at when other teams make cuts. They'll also be looking at offensive linemen, and a few other spots over the next week and a half. If the joint workouts with the Colts and Ravens proved anything conclusively, it's that those two teams are a year or two or five ahead of the Panthers in terms of roster construction, and it's most evident when the twos and threes are on the field.
  7. Well he better play in the preseason game or I’ll riot. This is a young team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They need to play!!!!!
  8. I agree….but…..if you look back on the Whitworth vs Kalil debate on age when we signed him, I believe the Rams are happy with those results.
  9. It’s funny how many people hated the selection of Fitt, then changed the tune ASAP when they realized what a competent GM looked like after being traumatized by Hurndog for so many years.
  10. Moves like that make you smile. We should never pick a #3 WR when we have questions about retaining someone like Moton. Can you imagine our line right now without him? The move by Hurndog still makes you cringe at how typical it was for him to let someone like Bradberry walk and sign Shaq to a huge deal. We could have tagged and traded and the least.
  11. This confirms it. If/When Erving goes down it will be Moton as LT and Brady Christiansen or Scott as RT.
  12. Panthers were mentioned in article (not as being interested, just listed as a team that would make sense) so I thought it would be an interesting discussion as many have brought him up before. I still do not have confidence in PJ as a number 2 but ultimately I don’t believe the team would make a move like this because of the drama it would cause around Sam being the starter. Article: The Jaguars are trying to continue to create the impression that Trevor Lawrence has not yet earned the starting job in a competition with Gardner Minshew. While there’s a chance it’s a legitimate contest (Lawrence seemed to perform better on Saturday night against the Browns), the better explanation is that the Jaguars are perplexed that they’ve yet to get a decent trade offer for Minshew, and that they’re showcasing him a bit. On Monday, Meyer perpetrated the ruse, if it is one, when asked whether Lawrence would start the next preseason game, against the Saints. “I think there’s a decent chance,” Meyer said. “We haven’t made that decision yet.” They inevitably will. Lawrence inevitably will start. They didn’t make Lawrence the No. 1 overall pick in the draft to not put him on the field. The other question is whether they’ll find a trade partner for Minshew, if they want one. Frankly, it’s amazing they didn’t get a solid offer for him months ago. He has 37 touchdown passes and 11 interceptions through two seasons, he’s under contract for a mere $865,000 this year, and he’s signed through 2022. He can play, he has proven it. And there are teams that would benefit from his presence as a backup. He’d be an ideal understudy to a star quarterback whose status as the starter isn’t in question. He’s also a guy who could be used by the coaching staff and/or front office to push a starter who may be on tenuous ground if he doesn’t perform at a high level. Teams like the Seahawks (Minshew played at Washington State), the Chiefs, the Ravens, the Cowboys, the Cardinals, the Rams, the Falcons, and the Titans would upgrade their No. 2 quarterback with Minshew — and he’d be no threat to take the starting job. Teams like the Giants and Lions would have a potentially viable replacement in the event Daniel Jones or Jared Goff, respectively, don’t get it done this season. In Carolina, Minshew seems to be a much better alternative at No. 2 than P.J. Walker or Will Grier. Hell, Minshew may even be a better option than starter Sam Darnold; dollar for dollar, Minshew definitely provides better value. It’s stunning, frankly, that Jacksonville hasn’t gotten more interest this year for Minshew. Although the number of competent quarterbacks has increased in recent years, teams still need them. Minshew has shown that he is one of them. Maybe the Jaguars will just keep him as the No. 2 to Lawrence. With Minshew’s justifiable desire to play, he may not be the ideal guy to mentor Lawrence. The longer Minshew is listed as the co-starter in Jacksonville, the greater the chance that he’s the featured vehicle in the showroom. And if no one bites before Week One, the Jags can just keep Minshew until an inevitable injury happens and a need for his presence immediately arises. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/08/16/if-the-jaguars-are-showcasing-gardner-minshew-plenty-of-teams-should-be-interested/
  13. I agree with you but we are in a state where our current starter has a track record of being terrible, and injury prone. Our backup is on the level of most teams practice squad.
  14. Secondary is a question mark but I will say that I am much more confident in our depth if we have someone go down compared to last year. Troy Pride looked like someone who is at the bottom of our depth chart yesterday before injury, and last season he was our starter/main backup.
  15. I actually feel like he was in the below average range last season (His PFF scores were right at the lower average range, and that performance can be expected in a backup) but he is clearly regressing. Who the hell knows….all I know is we are in fire mode at tackle. Imagine if Moton goes down for any period of time
  16. They are hoping he can be key depth at tackle so they are playing him as much as possible. They have realized we have a 911 depth situation on our hands after watching Trent Scott. When you get benched for Greg little…..you have a major problem.
  17. Lol zero chance he’s cut. They’re ant to continue to get reps and build stamina to play an entire game. He will be a key part of the D line rotation and they want to give him more experience from all spots including the inside
