  1. Speed kills and the high 2nd round pick would make the entire offense DEEP. Mingo and the 2nd round rookie would be the larger WR’s but Johnson, Brown, and Smith-Marsette as the speed, Thielen as the slot
  2. Tell me a better FA WR we could sign that would be better. The league would take notice….that would be an extremely upgraded offensive lineup compared to LY.
  3. And draft a stud WR of this deep upcoming draft class with the 1st pick in the 2nd round. Tell me Young would not be set up for the ultimate surrounding cast in order to truly evaluate his skills set as “The guy”. So much speed, and we can easily afford to do it. WR: Johnson WR: Hollywood WR: 33 overall draft pick WR: Thielen WR: Mingo WR: Smith-Marsette WR: TMJ RB: Chubba RB: Miles Sanders LT: Icky LG: Damien Lewis Center: Corbette RG: Robert Hunt RT: Moton TE: FA/Rookie TE: Tremble TE: Thomas
  4. I get it but we are still thin at the position. and he does have more talent than what it would take to replace him. We save absolutely nothing by cutting him, it actually cost us over 23k to cut him to not play for us so that wouldn’t make much sense. He’s on the last year of his deal
  5. Why would he be gone? He can actually fill a role for us and it cost us money to cut him…we save nothing
  6. Said it before, said it in another thread and I’ll say it again…..Sign Hollywood Brown for the speed and draft a Target with the 2nd round pick or picks with a WR, TE, or both
  7. Sign Hollywood Brown for the speed (and no draft capital) and use one of the 2nd picks for another weapon (WR or TE or both)
  8. If we were to sign a top free agent WR like Ridley or Hollywood Brown and a 2nd tier like Curtis Samuel, along with a Center, I’d feel good about getting some young talent in the draft. We can’t fix this team in one offseason being that we are actually rebuilding. Focus on the offense this year, defense next year and use some of that future money to go ahead and lock down Brown.
  9. Free agency just started up today. Only one person from that list had a good year and we just added a top 3 guard in the league. I get being upset about what we got in return for Burns, but we are truly rebuilding this team. We can sign many more people with burns off the books. We had a couple good players from that 2 win team; and Luvu was the only one I cared about if he stayed. Im not mad if we totally focus on rebuilding the offense year one. It’s needed and we have the smart portion of FA and the draft to go.
  10. I wouldn’t be upset at all with this if we were able to re sign Luvu. My question for the ones who are going off the deep end is this…..if you just took control of the team and tagged Burns, knowing he wouldn’t play on the tag and knowing you would have to sign him to a mega deal, if the highest return you could get from a team willing to Meet his salary demands is a 2nd and a 5th, what route would you have taken?
  11. They just announced on mad dogg radio that it was a done deal
  12. We will hopefully know something over the next few days, but the lack of news on us being close to a deal really worries me. Our team has lost what few playmakers or X factors that we had, and he is one of the 3-4 on the team. The man is the definition of a dawg and is someone who truly can line up in many positions to confuse an offense. He is a key factor in our defense and will be missed tremendously if we lose him. NFL free agency officially begins March 13 at 4 p.m. ET, and teams can start negotiating with players -- and agreeing to terms on new deals -- on March 11. How do you feel? Do you think we re sign him, or is this is for his time in Carolina? 2023 stats: 125 tackles 59 ast 5.5 sacks
  13. That would make no sense with Dalton being under contract. Spend the money elsewhere
  14. Even if we are rebuilding this wouldn’t be a bad idea. You need a young proven WR if you are going to properly evaluate Young and give him a chance. Allen, Tua, Burrow, Herbert etc all were surrounded with receiving talent and we have the absolute worst in the league. Im Not saying we mortgage the farm on it, but the idea in itself should not be shunned in such a harsh manner if we are able to get them for a solid cost. People won’t blink an eye to draft a WR high and watch them Bust (TMJ) but to trade for a proven playmaker drives people crazy. As long as we are investing in Receiving talent and O line I’m all for it if we are doing it in a smart manner.
  15. Plenty did the first time he left the team. He had that weird season where he only had 2.5 sacks and a lot of people were saying he wasn’t worth the money and played lazy whenever he finally left us. You are right that they weren’t sane, but many were saying that.
  16. Does not make sense but I’m not a cap expert. Thomas should absolutely go though. Maybe this is a post June cut
  17. I get he needs to improve in areas but he’s 25 years old crew…the only person in our history to have more sacks in the first 5 seasons was prime Peppers who had 6 more sacks. This is with Burns having a down rookie season and last year, along with us constantly playing from behind. I’m not saying he’s a hall of fame player at this point in his career, but you guys are being over the top calling him a part time player and horrific against the run. The rest of the league disagrees with you. Tons of people ripped Peppers when he left and said he wasn’t good, same with CMC, and DJ Moore. It would be insane to not tag Burns and let him walk for nothing.
  18. He played the 4th most snaps in the league last season, gave up 1 sack, and had a green ratting every year he has been in the league. Just because you have an option on it does not make it fact. He was an iron man for us last season when everyone around him was switching out from game to game. He was actually rated almost 6 points higher last season than the previous season when he only gave up 6 penalties and 3 snaps (4 penalties and 1 sack last season) Did getting rid of CMC and DJ teach you nothing? You watched the line last season and think Motons performance warrants us to go in another direction or look for an improvement on that type of performance? Especially on a team with such little talent, and into a handful of players (Moton being one) that is an above average NFL player?
  19. He’s solid, but he’s an easy cap savings and his play could be duplicated for cheaper. Many times he was able to make up for being out of position due to his crazy speed, which took a hit after his injury. He’s not as explosive but still solid, we will just be using that money on more impactful players like Luvu or a top free agent Guard who will prob get around 14 mill a season
  20. Makes no sense to move on from your above average, proven, RELIABLE, tackle, when your line was a complete mess last year. He has been our only consistent on the line over the last 5+ years. If we haven’t learned already from CMC and DJ Moore, moving on from your proven playmakers can have a very negative effect. An extension makes perfect sense from a tent, team building, and cap perspective.
  21. I wonder why we wait until the last minute after we have already held off negotiating? Seems like this decision one way or the other was already made.
