“Campen said he saw nothing in that game that reminded him of issues that plagued the line the first half of last season. When asked specifically about Ekwonu from last season to this one, he quickly responded, “Oh, he’s progressing. He’s fine." Asked if Ekwonu was more polished in one-on-one blocking, the veteran coach said, “He’s improved." But the first two preseason games show there’s room for a lot more improvement.” lol I trust Campens opinion over Newton in the last line

We will find out if Mingo can handle the responsibility. We aren’t winning the Super Bowl this year, so let’s keep building on the chemistry between Mingo and Young. If we were depending on Chark being healthy all season we were delusional. Time for the two second round picks to step up (Mingo and TMJ once he’s back)

Lol people are already bitching about what we paid Miles Sanders. JT ask for a trade because he wants to be one of the highest paid RB in the league with an extension, and some of you want to pay both guys now? 0 percent chance the would happen with him as a free agent at this point, much lesss trading for him.

There may time time for a discussion like this…..it’s not after 2 preseason games. Lol calm your tits and wait a couple weeks for the real action to begin, not after a practice game with no game planning, where they are trying things out. The overreactions seem to be through the roof and I can’t wait for the regular season to start.

The team looked like ass and went 1-3 in preseason Cams rookie year. First game of the season Cam lit it up. It’s preseason you dopes….We will be better than the last 4 years I can promise you that. No we are not a superbowl team, but I promise that by the end of the season we feel better about the direction of our teams future than we have felt in a very long time

This is a brand new scheme, completely overhauled offense, new coaching staff, and many new vet players and rookies playing together in a practice game. Calm down people. You are delusional if you believe we dominate the preseason. This is the time to get the sh*t out of the way. I would bet we look better come regular season. We’re not a Super Bowl team, but I promise you see better results than what we have been use to over the last 4 years come the end of the season. Cams first preseason he looked horrible then killed it in the first regular season game.

Lol you people are absolutely miserable. This is a practice game.

Chris Fowler's Notes from Panthers Training Camp
WarPanthers89 replied to SaltAndPepper's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah Burns is not giving any discount, and he’s tired of losing. We need to pay the man and build around him. We have a lot of young talent coming up for contract renewals, and need to lock up the ones who are worth it to pay while Young is locked up. Burns starts the wave of contracts on defense, and is one we know is worth it. Give him his biggest pay early in the contract while still on Young’s rookie deal. You refused the 2 first rounds picks for a reason….this the reason. Pay the man, make him happy, and let’s move on. Great reading though, I am happy about the rest -
Amazing to hear how Young is leading this team. Expectations for a number 1 pick is already insane, and he seems to be killing it. We have a very bright future ahead of us.

Did we get hoodwinked on Miles Sanders
WarPanthers89 replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah we overpaid but we knew we needed a top talent at RB to help our rookie franchise QB, and ones who have Sanders combination of explosive running and catch ability is hard to find. We did overpay but the help he brings to Bryce will be money well spent…..we hope. He’s in his prime and just got close to 1300 yards rushing last year.- 126 replies

It’s not going to be cheap to retain Derrick Big Baby Brown
WarPanthers89 replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Easier to pay them both now when we have a rookie franchise QB so that we are not having to pay 50+ million per season plus others like Burns and Brown- 76 replies

Article: Miles Sanders played 57 percent of the Eagles’ offensive snaps last season and set career highs with 1,269 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns. But in the postseason, it was Kenneth Gainwell who got more of the running back snaps. Sanders played 76 offensive snaps in three games, while Gainwell saw 95. In the Super Bowl, Sanders had 26 snaps and seven carries for 16 yards. (He did fumble out of bounds on the opening play from scrimmage, which could have played into his playing time.) Sanders admits it was disappointing to stand and watch as the Eagles lost to the Chiefs. “Last game of the season? For all of the marbles? Everybody can answer that question,” Sanders said, via Steve Reed of the Associated Press. “If they put themselves in my shoes, would they be happy? I don’t want to make headlines, [but] if it does, I don’t care.” Sanders signed with the Panthers in free agency, but he said the frustration of not playing more in the Super Bowl wasn’t the reason he left Philadelphia. “I can get into that another day, maybe,” Sanders said. “Maybe you should ask them why I’m moving here.” In Carolina, Sanders is expected to become the every-down back. It’s a role Christian McCaffreyhad in his time with the Panthers, who traded him to the 49ers last season. Sanders, who is reunited with running backs coach Duce Staley in Carolina, wasn’t used much in the passing game in Philadelphia the past three seasons. But he caught 50 passes for 509 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie. “This is going to give me more opportunities to help my team win, and that’s all I’m about,” Sanders said. “I’m a team guy and I want to do whatever I can to help our team win. Making it to the Super Bowl is pretty addicting and if I knew the formula I would do it every year.” https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/06/09/miles-sanders-disappointed-in-lack-of-chances-in-super-bowl-ready-for-more-in-carolina

Young is officially the starting QB.

Dalton will be QB 2. Zero chance he goes to number 3 on the depth chart -
Bryce Young Scouted Frank Reich pre-draft

Just the thought of us now having a franchise QB after suffering for years brings me joy that I cannot express with words. We will finally have something to get excited about this year ladies and gentleman. -
At this point in time, who feels like we lost this trade?
WarPanthers89 replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Again, This isn’t a thread stating we know how this would pan out. It’s a question about how you “feel”. It’s a slow time of the season and this is a discussion board. I’m not here saying we can tell the results of the trade before Young has even played a snap. We had a ton of debate before the draft on the cost of the trade, so it’s a good time to revisit this discussion after we have made FA moves and finished up with the draft. This thread is asking about how you feel about the state of the team vs what we gave up to transform our offense.
