His contract looks rather un noteworthy. Pretty cheap if anything. It's about as as cheap as you will get without being on a rookie comtract if you compare to the field.

I can't argue with people wanting to do what is best for themselves. However, this will make the NFL difficult for me to put much effort in to following going forward if it shifts towards the NBA model.

His in the final year of his contract and is 31 year old with diminishing abilities. Releasing him has zero negative cap impact on them and every cent owed to him this year they will save. Would it kill you to have the slightest amount of knowledge of how these things work? It would save you from looking ignorant.
