Round 6 Pick 189: Amaré Barno, EDGE, Virginia Tech
shaq replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Elite speed! Great developmental DE, your looking for traits this late in the draft and oh man does this kid have traits! -
I fuging love this pick! Has the highest ceiling of any of these LB’s, Troy Anderson went day 2 and we got the same if not better type of athlete in day 3. Let’s go frittergoat!
-
Love this pick, also love that we didn’t trade any future picks. I love pick swaps to trade up!!
-
The fact we drafted a second string long snapper over Trey Smith still haunts me to this day.
-
We traded both our 5th round picks this draft for the 4th we took Smith with and they also give us a 6th this draft.
-
Solid pick, freak athlete at LB. If we can teach him to tackle more consistently then I really like this pick.
-
I could see Charlie Kolar.

Round 3 Pick 94: Panthers Select Matt Corral - QB Ole Miss

Someone help me understand why we didn’t take Howell. -
Id be happy with Willis or Howell. We’re talking developmental qbs, both are worthy of a late third to fourth round pick. Let’s not forget we took Will Grier in the third and he is way worse of a qb talent then those two.
-
Qbs are falling oh my. If Willis keeps falling we gotta try something...
-
Awesome pick!!

I could see that Baylor connection for sure, I like JT just is kinda too skinny for my preference at Safety.
-
He is very interesting, I like Pitre too he's just more of a slot guy than a true safety.

Nick Cross is a safety out of Maryland, he is truly a star in the making yet he is being projected mostly around the third round to early day three in the draft. He could very well fall into our range even without a trade back for extra picks(I hope we do trade back), I have a feeling that teams are probably much higher on Cross than the media but regardless I would even be happy taking him in the second round if we had one. I came across Cross watching the combine and man did this kid stand out, first off he's absolutely jacked very much like our fan-favorite Chinn. But more importantly, his movement and fluidity are special. I was watching the DB combine testing expecting Hamilton to shine but Cross took away the show. This led me to watch as much tape of Cross as I could find and man he didn't disappoint. He has great range, his speed really does show up on tape he is a natural ballhawk on the field and tracks the ball very well. Keep in mind this kid is only 20, if you let him develop at FS and really learn the position his range would grow with experience. He needs to learn more about route concepts/play recognition better so he can react and anticipate faster. Furthermore, his run defense is awesome. He is a fugging rocket on the field, he lays wood like he actually blows people up. If you wanna see some big ass hits watch his highlight tape which I will link below. In college, he was so much faster than everyone so he wouldn't always take the best angles but he still always made an impact in the run game. His speed especially shows up when he's chasing down WRs or running backs on big chunk plays, he actually catches up to them this is not Roman Harper or Tre Boston getting burnt. Pairing Chinn with Cross would be a perfect combo at the backend for the next decade and would allow Chinn to play SS. Cross reminds me a lot of Chinn but built a bit smaller for FS, both athletic freaks/big hitters and play with passion. Lastly he's just a great guy, intelligent and a hard worker just the type of player you want on your team. The draft is so close, keep pounding! Physical Attributes: 6'0 Foot, and 212 Pounds 4.34 forty yard dash 37-inch Vertical Only 20 Years Old Highlight Tape-

Agreed I just forgot to mention that he mentioned RPO qbs translating to the NFL and with Howell and Corrall both being RPO dudes I made the correlation.
-
Mcadoo when asked how much he values readiness or potential, he said something along the lines of he would rather swing for the fences. That is an interesting tidbit, my call is Howell or Corall.
-
No clue it would be a horrible trade for the Cardinals, this is all speculation Kyler and is team is clearly just trying to drum up attention to help his contract negotiation. But if he was theoretically available Panthers would have to look into it bare minimum.
-
People wanted to trade significantly more for someone who might not even play next season. Totally reasonable to want to trade for a franchise QB. You eventually have to pay a franchise QB regardless.
-
I would not mind Howell in a trade down one bit.
-
I hate trading picks but if it was only 2 firsts I’d do it in a heartbeat. Also would be nice if Arizona would take Darnold.
-
Kyler would be a massive needle mover. He’s easily a top 15 qb with top 5 potential. Don’t be surprised when he wins MVP at some point in his career.
-
I feel like I’m one of the only ones here who would love to get Kyler. He’s only 24 with a continually rising passing rating. He’s got ELITE arm talent and is a top 5 running qb easy.

Robby Anderson wants Panthers to work out Colin Kaepernick
shaq replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Either we get rid of Darnold or Robby. One of your starting WR can’t just disrespect your potential starting QB publicly endlessly. -
He was the most penalized player in college football at Northern Iowa. You think it’s going to get better going up against Players like Tj Watt, and Myles Garrett? I agree with you, I want a physical player too but Penning is just outright dumb. It’s a football game not a wrestling match, and man oh man this kid couldn’t handle the senior bowl. Every time he got destroyed he would literally throw a temper tantrum. The media sticks to narratives too strong, yes he is a mean physical player but he also exceeds that threshold into a large negative. Watch his senior bowl 1 on 1s it’s genuinely concerning how much he got bull rushed.
