  1. For $20, is this collection any good? (Reddit seems to say "mostly", so doublechecking) thousands of pages in all!—including fan favorites like Red Sonja, Project Superpowers, Army of Darkness, Vampirella, and many more. https://www.humblebundle.com/books/dynamite-20th-anniversary-20000page-mega-bundle-books-encore
  2. Deal expected to be announced on Wednesday ESPN is expected to have access to RedZone, NFL Network, seven more regular-season games, the NFL’s fantasy football business, as well as the potential to integrate special features (including betting) and potentially more assets. The agreement coincides with ESPN’s forthcoming direct-to-consumer service that will formally launch in the next few weeks." The NFL may receive up to 10 percent of ESPN equity, sources confirmed In the ESPN family of networks, NFL Network could be looked upon similarly to the SEC Network. The SEC offers programming 24/7 about the league, while ESPN, the main channel, dedicates significant airtime to it as well. The same sort of setup, with on-air personalities being used across brands, is very possible. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6530655/2025/08/01/nfl-espn-media-deal-tv-broadcast/
  3. For those unable to view Twitter posts, here's the Bluesky link https://bsky.app/profile/rapsheet.bsky.social/post/3lvebf5eoa227
  4. well.... if ATL/NO/TB are playing each other, we'll hope for the team that wins will help our own standings in the division. It's not exactly cheering FOR someone as much as it's cheering AGAINST another
  5. I've never had a bad experience as a Panthers fan in Tampa. It's almost always a fun time
  6. Already done https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2025/07/28/deion-sanders-depend-underwear-bladder-cancer-colorado-football/85415232007/
  7. Bucs continue to have issues -- they have a league-leading 464lb player who was just put in "non football injury reserve" list due to his weight. The good news is that he's getting the help he needs; carrying that much around can't be good long-term for the knees or other important parts https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/45821897/bucs-watson-nfl-heaviest-player-trying-get-healthier
  8. can't tell what the twitter post is (twitter is blocked by corporate), but saw the Deion news last night He's right -- it's a good reminder for everyone to see their doctors regularly and get ALL the things checked out
  9. for those who can't see the Twitter post, I'm assuming this post is about the list published in February with Greg and TD? https://sports.yahoo.com/10-great-nfl-players-eligible-035121461.html
  10. Finally was able to watch the YouTube post of the Supermen video. It was really well done. Curious how they couldn't get NFL clearance for showing specific game clips, as one would think it'd fall under fair use "news and analysis" criteria. Maybe it was related to the number of minutes of NFL footage they'd need overall which hit a threshold that went beyond a news and analysis criteria. (shrug)
  11. Sunday Ticket is still available for retail establishments And good sports bars should be using a master control video panel to feed a single input out to various TVs rather than having individual tuners/streaming boxes
  12. Thx for the excerpt (hadn't been posted over at this thread) From a pricing perspective, ESPN needs to charge more than the ~$13/subscriber they're currently getting from cable companies for their standalone streaming service. Because for a sports-minded person with a cable subscription, it would end up costing more to go streaming only than it would to just keep the cable
  13. Will be based in Charlotte. I'll expect to see the Panthers to show up somehow (based on previous promotional-related episodes)
  14. Hopefully there was a behind-the-scenes chat with Dan/Dave/Tep to say "let football people football" - which appears to correlate to the perception that Tep has been more hands-off in their world vs where he was earlier It may not be much, but if there is a cause-effect then we could give sincere/honest thanks to Frank for his contribution to that improvement
  15. Tune in next week for ESPN 8 The OCHO (Jul 31-Aug 3, give or take) [always airs the first weekend of august, sorta. check local listings] Corgi races! Ax throwing! Red Bull Flutag! Slippery Stairs! Some goodyear blimp documentary?
  16. I would love to have seen ESPN buy all of NFL Films. Surprised INSIDE THE NFL never moved to ESPN (it hasn't been the same since it left HBO for Showtime, and has floundered once they shifted from airing NFL Film recaps to more of a talking head commentary show
  17. Frank Reich excited about Bryce Young’s resurgence after ‘terrible’ start to QB’s NFL career https://apnews.com/article/panthers-bryce-young-frank-reich-8aa35c1c3924d95b3e8253afb94b29d9
  18. Can someone copy/paste the info shown in the Twitter embed, please?
  19. nah, he just puts the one grill plate out, does up a few steaks. Don't need more than that
  20. neighbor got a smokeless wood firepit with a grill insert. They're fancy (insert promotional photo here)
  21. What I like about the Venom for the Weber vs something like the BILLOWS from Thermoworks (a fantastic company, get ALL their thermometers) is that I didn't want to drill any holes into the bottom bowl. The Venom just snaps in and can be removed/moved to a different grill if needed I think for the Green Egg, the Billows can attach directly to the lower port without modifications. So that's a better use case for that product I think
  22. It's made charcoal grilling super easy for someone who doesn't want to deal with setting up the snake method
  23. Check Walmart today/this week -- B&B charcoal for $10/bag
  24. Cooked a 7+lb pork butt on the kettle with the Venom. Set it at 225, held temp all day long (it was a 14hour cook, the stall at 155 took hours to clear). The temp graph in the app showed a +/- 3 degree variation for hours on end. Other than constantly checking the phone because I felt like it, it was mainly hands-off Because I was using lump instead of briquettes (ugh, lump was NOT my choice, but the bag is almost done) I had to restock/reset the fuel after about 5 hours, which was fine. Finally pulled the pork once it got to 195 - I wasn't going to wait any longer for 200. (I didn't wrap it through the stall, which was probably another poor choice) Let it sit for 30m, then pulled it. Great bark, great flavor.
  25. I know it's all in the editing, but the Camp Confidential clips suggest that the *team* believes in Bryce. THEY'RE drinking the kool-aid that Dan & Dave are putting out
